  • Flying solo today, Sabrina sits down to chat about handling differences in dating, which involves open communication and understanding personal boundaries. Sabrina emphasizes the importance of discussing key topics early on, such as beliefs, future goals, and financial habits. She shares personal experiences to highlight that relationships often end due to incompatible needs rather than lack of love. It's crucial to focus on finding a partner whose core values align with yours rather than trying to change someone. Sabrina advises discussing lifestyle choices, like diet and alcohol, as well as family dynamics to ensure compatibility. By being true to yourself and addressing potential differences openly, you can build a genuine, long-term partnership based on mutual respect and understanding.

The problem is when you ask all those deep questions up front but people lie about what they want/are looking for in the beginning (or they just go with what they think you want to hear), then you get deeply involved and their true colors come out when the rubber meets the road 🫠

Or they honestly do not know what they want because they dont know themselves well. That is why self awarness are very important for me now. Learned the hard way.

I agree that a person who does not know themselves could never tell you who they are. They cannot honor their preferences, boundaries, or deal breakers because they have not done the work to define them. Gotta reach deep into your own shit (& feel it) to have the 1st clue about what feels right or not. If what feels right is to people please, the person is going to answer those questions based on what they think the moment calls for to "keep things smooth" or "not rock the boat". The life mission of an unaware, codependent.

I really liked the last part when she mentioned the situation where someone wanted to say how they feel about something bc it was very problematic for me coming from an ex partner. I used to say "go talk to a therapist" bc I don't know how to help you not feel that way. What exactly do you want me to do about it?..if you are just venting, that may be negatively affecting me as well.

Ever since COVID, I feel a lot of people hide behind the digital screens, being fake & only experience a digital relationship with no commitment..that’s one of my non negotiables.

You sound like you could use someone to talk to about this so you can move past it.
