I love this figure so much, I have three of them. One for bot, one for truck, and one sealed. The screw holes are unsightly. ToyHax has a sticker set for C-01 Optimus with the trailer stripe, cell shaded windows, and other stickers, but the set is $25.00... I wish ToyHax would just do a cheaper sticker set for just the stripes, and maybe the cell shaded windows... Maybe you can have PPR pass this on to Toyhax? In the meantime, I'm going to try to find some screw hole plugs in light gray. Great video, Bert!
Yeah, we have made the suggestion for some trailer options for this figure to cover up those hole. Hoping that we'll get something but you never know. Thanks for watching!
I forgot to mention that you can make this trailer work for C-02, (The missing link cartoon version). How I took care of the mismatched wheels for the trailer, (Silver vs chrome) I had a spare trailer and disassembled the trailer axel box, swapped the axles and then swapped the new tires to the chrome axles. It's a super simple mod, and it looks the part!
Hey! What a coincidence! I'm putting my 40th Anniversary Prime Review out tomorrow and I referenced you being an expert in it. Hope you don't mind. LOL!
Yes, the G1 version I used in this video is a KO. Good eye! However, the original G1 figure (re-stickers of the Diaclone figure) also had flat fists and thin antenna just like on the figure I used in this video. Thanks for watching!
I argued with myself before buying this as well. "Do I need another G1 Prime? Yes! I don't have one in this color." I do love the paint job, but those trailer screws need covered up. I put mine back in the box to display. Another great TJP Review. Hooah!!!!!
When i first saw this on hasbro pulse, i was mega confused cause i just thought that it was the missing link they just changed the name. Before i took a closer look of course
I was really looking forward to it and finally received it a couple weeks ago. One thing I did notice was the box was a corrugated cardboard, which is a departure from the traditional flat cardboard box of the original. My guess is to give it some rigidity as the plastic tray inside doesn't offer much structural support. In the old day, the styrofoam tray would have given the box some structure. I would argue that this release is a reissue of the G2 mold, as are all of the official reissues, because they all have that slot in the back that the G2 Prime had so you could hang the soundbox like a back pack. The original production Optimus Prime never had that slot, and this is the quickest way for me to determine if one is original or reissue. I don't know if the KO's had this slot or not, but I'm assuming there are other ways to tell them apart
@@lemonherb1 the KO I have is near identical to the first release of the original. Apart from some loose joints out of the box and details on the box itself they're very difficult to tell apart. Thanks for watching!
It does look really good, but I do see why people are missing the stickers. Great review, I don't think I'll be able to get this one so this was a fun watch!
@Prime-collector it is, good eye! However, the original G1 figure (re-stickers of the Diaclone figure) also had flat fists and thin antenna just like on the figure I used in this video. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, I think $65 is a fair price for a complete, G1 Prime reissue. In all honestly, we're paying more for less (no stickers) on this one but they get you because it's exclusive and because of the paint. Still happy to have it but it does feel a bit over priced. Thanks for watching!
It's kind of a missing link dilemma to me as i wasn't quite old enough to have a G1 prime even as decent as this is. I guess I'll see if a G2 comes around. 😂
I want one, but I can’t justify paying almost same prize as the commander ss86 for a reissue og a 40 year toy. I was willing to pay 60 to 65 euros for it, but 90 is too much when I can get a ko for 35, wich I know is not truly the same, but close enough at an affordable price

The reason why the head, fists, and the smokestack tips looks different on the reissue you have, is that is a KO.
