How I Became A Flower Farmer - Including Some Important Tips!!

  • As it is too frozen to do anything outside I thought I would create a video answering some questions that I get asked a lot across my social media channels. Mainly on how and why I started growing flowers, how I started my business and some handy tips and tricks I've learnt along the way!
    Like most things, not everything has come easy and I've certainly had to work very hard to make stuff happen. However I am a firm believer in nothing worth having in life comes easy and if you want something badly enough you'll find a way to make it work! There is always a way no matter how difficult it may seem at the time... I am happy to share more details on my flower farming journey if anyone would like to know any further details 😊
    As always please do feel free to ask any further questions you may have and I would love to answer them!
    You can follow my journey on my other social media channels below:

    Thanks so much for watching! Stay tuned for more flower farm updates!

    I love how you told the good and the bad -- I think social media does make everything look "rosy". I grow flowers for myself, friends, and to donate. It is a lot of work but I really enjoy it. I grew flowers for my great niece's wedding a few years ago -- I stressed all summer about the weather and whether I would have enuf flowers. Growing for fun is much less stress.

      Thank you so much 🥰 yes it's important to show the entire thing, not just the pretty flowers. Because the reality isn't just all sunshine and flowers, it's lots of ups and downs.
      Haha yes it's a lot of stress growing for people's weddings, I really enjoy it though 😁🌷💐 how cool you grew for a friend's wedding 💒

    How lovely to get your start while on maternity leave with your little one. And you’re right, it’s incredibly rewarding work but not always roses and sunshine on the day to day.

      Yes it was such a lovely way to be outside in nature with our little one when he was a baby ☺️🌱 and certainly not always roses and sunshine 😆👍

    Very impressive- you’ve accomplished so much, especially considering you’re a new mom and have so much going on external to your business! Wishing you successful 2024🎉

    What a lovely and inspiring video. I am a self employed gardener with an allotment and this year I am turning it over to just flowers. So many of my clients ask me about this so they have really given me the push to do it. I will be mostly selling them to my clients and see where that takes me. x

    How do you store your flowers once you cut them. Do you have a cooler?

    Hello I’ve just found your video and really enjoyed it, I’ve subscribed to your channel and am looking forward to following your journey. Sorry but I don’t know your name. I am a retired lady aged 68 with a garden and a small allotment I am sowing seeds for the first time and would love to have loads of cut flowers to give away to family and friends. Thanks again 🌺🌸

    Do you put them in bouquets then sell them? Where do you sell them?

    • @Redhousefarmflowers
      @Redhousefarmflowers  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Lisa, yes I put them in bouquets and sell them. It can be a complete mixture but usually it is via social media, market stalls, and individual requests ☺️🌸
