I sell hand tied bouquets locally, as well as DIY wedding flowers. I am hoping to expand the business over the next few years to including workshops and other exciting flowery things...

Hopefully things start to pick up and we get ...
New Dahlias For 2024
มุมมอง 2.8K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Quickly filmed this video on our Son's birthday to show the new dahlias for 2024! They arrived in the post whilst we were out enjoying our lovely family trip out. Managed to pot them up in the afternoon in the greenhouse. I have lots of other new additions to the dahlia family from some other suppliers... keep your eyes peeled for those ones too :) Dahlias are one of my favourite flowers in the...

All of the Spring bulbs are coming along nicely, I also have had my first few ranunculus flower! Which is...
Harvesting The First Of The Tulips 2024!
มุมมอง 2729 หลายเดือนก่อน
I thought I would put together this short TH-cam video of me harvesting the first of the 2024 tulips! These are my Parrot tulips. They are supposed to be a variety called Silver Parrot but they look slightly different so I'm not so sure. I adore Parrot tulips! So much more sass than your regular single tulips. You won't find these beauties in your local supermarket that's for sure! I love how t...
Flower Farming Fails - Don't Make The Same Small Silly Mistakes As Me!
มุมมอง 1.2K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
Firstly i'd like to apologise for the quality of this video! There is a slight glitch in the original recording which made the audio slightly out of sync with the video. I've overlaid some footage to help distract from this! Secondly apologise it's been so long since I've uploaded a video on here. We are right in the peak of our growing season here in the UK as well as setting up a whole new gr...
Planting My Autumn Sown Sweet Peas In The Poly Tunnel
มุมมอง 47011 หลายเดือนก่อน
Planting out my Autumn sown Sweet Peas in the Poly Tunnel to create a beautiful Sweet Pea wall. Attempting to tick off a few jobs on my list with a toddler in tow! I will be doing three sowings in total of my Sweet Peas - Autumn, late Winter and a Spring sowing. This should hopefully give me three beautiful successions all throughout the growing season. I absolutely love Sweet Peas and have gon...

How I Became A Flower Farmer - Including Some Important Tips!!
มุมมอง 4.3K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
As it is too frozen to do anything outside I thought I would create a video answering some questions that I get asked a lot across my social media channels. Mainly on how and why I started growing flowers, how I started my business and some handy tips and tricks I've learnt along the way! Like most things, not everything has come easy and I've certainly had to work very hard to make stuff happe...

Finishing the inside of the poly tunnel
มุมมอง 304ปีที่แล้ว
Watch me finish my last no dig flower bed inside the poly tunnel. Yippee! The inside is finally finished and set up ready for my plant babies to go inside. Two of the beds are already planted up with my Autumn started ranunculus, which I will share more on soon. I also have my anemones ready to be planted out. The final most recent no dig bed is for my sweet peas which I have decided to grow un...

I have exciting news to share and more exciting things to come for 2024! Check out my newest update and more soon to follow... You can also find me on Instagram at Red House Farm Flowers for regular updates. Thank you so much for watching and being part of my exciting flowery journey!
My soil here on the East Sussex coast is frozen now. Will the frost cloth on your ranuncs mean that the soil won’t freeze at all?
I absolutely love red flowers! Especially with sunset colors or jewel tones! Those snaps will be luscious ❤
Omg this is so cutee!! I’m so glad this came up on my page and I wish you all the best for this channel x
you ended up on my suggested front page on youtube! cheers :)
I never knew that about ranunculus not liking the heat - never planted before. I binge watched all your videos over the last 2 days and just want to get out and sow ! I've put quite a few seeds into my basket on a shop here in Ireland, just added verbascum, they're gorgeous! This year I'd like to see how i get on but would love to become a flower farmer but know that will never happen due to a car crash injury but hopefully I'll get some nice bouquets for myself and family 😊 a few years ago i gave bouquets to the workers at my childrens playschool and the mammy were amazed that i grew them all 😂, have to say they looked fab with just sweet william, fever few, snapdragons so if i grow what are in my plans this year they'll be amazing 😂
Loving the videos, commenting for the algorithm and liking the video of course 😊 hello from Ireland
That's awful what happened !! Its the work you put into it, barrowing it all in, using it well rotted and the money you spent on seeds, devastating to then see it fail. So great that your original company stepped in and helped 😊
Oh my goodness, look at the new space you have!!!!! Wow, absolutely amazing
I have started watching your videos right from the beginning again, will be finished watching today! Really enjoying watching your videos, very easy to watch. Its something I'd love to start, going to try just a few things this year but unfortunately i have an awful back injury from a car crash over 20 years ago ehich leaves me barely able to walk some days but me being me i say "ooh I'll start a flower farm" knowing full well I'll never be able to do it 😂
Wow you have so much growing
Lovely❤
Hello dear friend great sharing +❤ full support
I agree cold tea in the winter is unpleasant
Do you have a link to the video of how you made your low tunnel please?
yay! A new video from you! Sometimes farm work take more priority than making videos. making videos is time consuming so we understand 🙂We are also having a very mild fall in Auburn, WA, USA. Zone 8b
Ahh thank you so much for your support 🙏🥰 oh yes videos and editing them take so much time don't they! Unfortunately not spare time us flower growers seem to have 😆 oh wow how funny you also have a very mild fall! Hopefully the tulips will be okay! It's a fine balance between getting them in the ground before it freezes so they can establish roots and then putting them in the ground when it's too warm and them being susceptible to tulip fire 🔥🥴 fingers crossed they will be okay 🙏
You are a hard worker, thanks for sharing!
Ahh thank you! It's my therapy. What I absolutely love to do. For me it doesn't feel like work 🥰 thank you so much for your support 🙏
No judgment. Lots of exciting things
Thank you so much! Soooo exciting 😆 thank you for your support! 🥰
my grandkids helped me a little at first, pulling weeds and deadheading. now i can't pay them to come over and help. last thing was my grandson coming over to pull weeds and let out some lady bugs. time flies.
Oh that is so sweet! It's lovely whilst it lasts isn't it 😄 thankfully little one enjoys being with me most of the time but he's always doing his own thing whilst I crack on. He's rarely interested in what I'm doing anymore. The rare occasion he asks to help me which I absolutely love! 🥰
Get a worker with you and expand your business. Congrats.
Oh that would be the dream! Right now unfortunately I wouldn't have the funds to pay someone, as everything I make I pour back into the business for an even bigger and better season ahead. Things like roses and bare roots etc cost a lot of money 😆 hopefully one day I can employ some people 🤞🤞🤞 thank you so much for your support 🥰🙏
Congrats on all your flower successes Chesney! So crazy how much you’ve got done whilst looking after a little one. I look forward to more videos 😊💚
Oh thank you so much 🙏🥰 I do surprise myself sometimes on how much I can actually achieve with a toddler in tow 😄 he loves to be outside playing thankfully, which I much prefer anyways as I remember most of my childhood spent outside playing on a farm 😊 here's to a wonderful season ahead 🌸 thank you for your support 🥰🙏
Exciting.
Excited for 2024/2025 season. You are brilliant and so enthusiastic.
Good luck with all you do for 24/25.
I just love your videos. You are so good to share all of this. I have a small pvc greenhouse and a large, double, zippy. You are so inspiring.
I'm so, so impressed. What an amazing accomplishment! Fantastic ♥️
Amazing Chesney. Great videos.
You are incredible. Love your scientific approach. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail is the saying! You will crack it. You are amazing.
Great vid! I'm dabbling in growing flowers of my own this year, and the dream is to have a flower farm! ❤
Hello neighbour!🙋🏻♀️ (East Sussex here🤓) I don’t know why but I’ve been obsessed with Dahlias for a few years and always excited to see new ones. Don’t think I’ve heard of any of those ones before but they are all beautiful!!😍 I hope you you will have time for a little update on them when they are flowering 😬
bellissimi! come si chiama la varietà di scabiosa? thx
I had 15 cattle spend the night in my field. A huge setback to say the least 😢
Greetings from Ireland, You have a lot of work for one person but your doing really well and Rome wasn't built in a day.
You are doing really well. I’m so impressed with your progress. Thanks for the update, it’s really encouraging!
very exciting project i look forward to watching the progress
You were really busy, creative and working hard. Love and best wishes from Germany.

How do you store your flowers once you cut them. Do you have a cooler?
Would you mind sharing your favorite way to store tubers for the winter?
Can I ask how you protect them from slugs?
I pre sprout all of my dahlias in pots before I put them out to give them a head start against the slugs as I find it's the new shoots they love the most. Then when they are strong and big enough I plant them out 💪 I also rely on the birds/frogs/hedgehogs/slow worms to eat the slugs 🤞 ill share more on my next video on what I use to help deter pests 🐌😁👍
Also, if you're in the U.S., try Corry's Slug and Snail killer. Works perfectly 😊
Hi from the USA! I always love getting new dahlias. HH Serenity is number one on my wishlist! That and HH daydream. Please share a video when she blooms! ❤
New dahlias is always so exciting 😁 ahh amazing! Of course I will 😊 be prepared for lots of flower spam 😄
The Halls of Heddon labels usually give the shape, colour and height as well the name, which is helpful. Mine haven’t arrived yet. Hope you enjoy yours. 😊
Oh wow I didn't even realize this! Shows how much attention I pay 😂 thank you for pointing this out!
Good on you for putting in the hard graft and following your dream ❤
Thank you so much 🙏🥰💐
I love to support small creators and small business owners. Stay motivated to create content, it can take off at any time! Just keep going ❤❤
Thank you so much that's so kind! 🙏 Appreciate the support ☺️💐🌸
I m very interested in growing flowers I need more information
@@user-ng4wr2uf2o there’s tons of information on TH-cam! Easiest varieties to grow for first timers: sunflowers, Zinnias and cosmos. I’m trying my hand at dahlias this year but they are more frustrating because the tubers are sensitive to watering. I’ve had 3 rot this year 😞
I love how you told the good and the bad -- I think social media does make everything look "rosy". I grow flowers for myself, friends, and to donate. It is a lot of work but I really enjoy it. I grew flowers for my great niece's wedding a few years ago -- I stressed all summer about the weather and whether I would have enuf flowers. Growing for fun is much less stress.
Thank you so much 🥰 yes it's important to show the entire thing, not just the pretty flowers. Because the reality isn't just all sunshine and flowers, it's lots of ups and downs. Haha yes it's a lot of stress growing for people's weddings, I really enjoy it though 😁🌷💐 how cool you grew for a friend's wedding 💒
You have a great sense for art and beauty. This business will succeed more and more every year. Love from a professional gardener and new subscriber in Germany.
Thank you so much! That's so kind of you 🥰
Aminopyralid is a persistent herbicide in manure. Always start with a soil test.
Yes I only found this out after I had used it 😅 it is all learning and experience 😄👍
Love and greetings from Germany. Very well made video with beautiful pictures.
Thank you so much for joining me ☺️💐🌷🌸
🌹🌷🌺🌸😍♥️👍
Very beautiful 🌹🌷🌺🌸👍♥️😍
Thank you so much! 🥰🌸🌷💐
Great to see you back, you’re an absolute powerhouse Chesney! 💚
Aww thanks so much for joining in on the crazy ride 😁 haha thank you! Have to have something to do to keep me occupied 😆
