Back in November 1972, I did a bike ride from Glasgow to the Campsie Fells and then around Loch Katrine (on the closed road) to Aberfoyle and home again, mostly in the dark, with a mate. Memorable ride of 98 miles. Lovely area of The Trossachs.
Great video, they had plaques with information on the road round loch katrine but sadly the last time I cycled it they appeared to have disappeared. Irish navies did a lot of the graft, this road is only open for walkers , cyclists and water board vehicles and is worth a look goes from the dukes pass end to the Inversnaid road end.
Nice video thanks with decent background music. If this kind of thing interests you, read up on the aqueduct, which carries the water from Thirlmere to Manchester. It's a remarkable piece of engineering, it empties into a reservoir in Heaton Park in the northern suburbs of Manchester. You'll come across bits of it all the way along its course - quite a strategic structure I'd have thought but most people are so un-curious that they don't question what they're seeing.
