  • After a significant time away from the mountains and recovering from an injury Alistair hiked Ben A'an to see how he would fair on his first return to the outdoors. With wide, commanding views across the Trossachs, Ben A'an is a spectacular viewpoint for such a small hill, making it a fine short walk for all.

Same with myself. I hadn't been able to get out since I met yourself and Douglas in late September. Ben A'an was my wee rehab hike.
    All feels good now.

It’s a beautiful viewpoint to see the surrounding mountains. I might try and take the kids up as well.

Nice one Alistair. I also have had problems with my fitness. Last time out was end of August. But walked up Tap O Noth recently

Sometimes it’s just not that easy to fit in regular training, but hoping to change that going forward. Hope it was a good walk!

Holy orange - you won't be able to hide from anybody in that outfit! Glad the ribs are on the mend.

There are 3 tiers of cliffs up the side of Ben A'an with lots of easy climbs & you can step around them if you want. You can make a mountaineering adventure with the kids going up the side of the hill and then down the tourist path.

I had never been up before so was great to see somewhere new. Coupled with an easy day and fantastic views, made for a great day out. Definitely on the mend and just trying to get fit again.

Well done for getting back out, not easy when you experience pain. Done it last year with the dog and hopefully do it again soon. Take Care Alistdair.

Brilliant wee walk with fantastic views. Done that a few times now, but instead of going back down the way up, we took a different route down completing a circuit which brought us down by Loch Katrina. 🦯🏔

That sounds like an interesting route! How much extra distance did it add?

@@HighlandHikers hi there, this took us in total about 4 hours for the round trip, on 2nd March 2020. I can’t for some reason put up our route from Sports Tracker. 🤔
