My Jaw surgery Experience, NHS, (non-cosmetic surgery) It has been a long two months and I still have a ways to go, but here is my experience so far.
Jaw surgery videos on youtube have really helped me to get through my own surgery, so I hope that this helps somebody else.

I just want to say thank you so much for this video. I have been very insecure about my face after my braces were taken off, it left my profile looking bad. Before braces I had a very good, youthful looking face. I never like showing my face when I’m out. I feel ugly and it has affected my life so much. I had recently seen an orthodontist for a consultation and he suggested having lower jaw surgery. I immediately said no to that but now after watching so many videos and with the majorly having success surgery with good looking people, I am now reconsidering it.
Thank you! And you look great btw!

It's been a difficult few months and it's tough that you probably need a further op so it's good to see you smiling at the end. Hopefully you'll still feel it was all worth it after the second op. Keep your chi...err...keep your spirits up. You're doing so well.

I'm so glad that even with these little setbacks everything went great. Couldn't stop smiling seeing your positivism through it all.
Also can testify, having the stitches come out it's a pain in the ass, happened to me with appendicitis.
    Godspeed!

    Oh Abbie,
This is quite an intense process - especially with you in such a wonderful but demanding school program. I must have missed something as I had no idea you were thinking of this surgery. But you are one to remain positive as you push forward towards your career aspirations. Thank you so much for sharing and you are very much in my thoughts and prayers. I look forward to updates on your progress.
P.S. We just completed 3 1/2 weeks visiting Family and Friends in Japan and now we are in Thailand with our Daughter's Family/5 Grandchildren. 😊 It is a very interesting time to be traveling and one of our dearest Friends from China could not join us. We are "safe/healthy" in a non-tourist area of Thailand for the next 3 weeks and then home to USA where I have psychotherapy patients awaiting my return.

I’m meant to be getting braces very soon (privately) and my ortho mentioned jaw surgery bc I have lip imcopetence which results in strain/clenching in my chin to keep my lips closed because at rest my lips are open! He didn’t really say much about it apart from its “not as common over here” as in America. Now I have been researching it I want to see about getting it done! How do I go about getting considered ? As I do a lot of teeth clenching which in long run isn’t good! Do you think it would be best to make another appointment withy ortho for a kind of “second consultation” to speak more about it ?
