    Thanks for the shout out! Just swapped wheels on my MF500s and TR6s, so now both rockered with 76mm 78A and 80mm 82A. So much fun! My mum bought me the shirt for my 40th! (she asked what I wanted first)

    Good day. Took up blading v late in life. Joined windy city skaters one night decked 5x hobbled back to hotel n loved it. Always been coordinated but cant really improve much like t stop etc. Dream to be able to cruise like you guys..obv nowhere near but just freedom and confidence and thus joy. Hard to get next level wout being able to control speed..and remove noisy brakes. Tks 4 advice Rich

    My daughter and I have been pleasantly surprised when you mentioned me at the end of the skate flow video! Watching you skating motivates me a lot and I learn every time I watch all you guys (Leon, Alex, and you) . Never stop doing this!
    By the way, it could be nice to continue those teaching lessons that you started some months ago but with a collection of tricks on Wizards!

    I honestly wish I could flow skate as effortlessly as you make it look. Big props! A question I have is... how long have you been skating and how do you maintain your balance to turn because for some reason, I can't seem to do it. Granted, I'm still a beginner. Another question I have is... would you consider skating as more of a career or a passionate hobby? I have recently gotten obsessed with your vids, thanks for putting so much effort into them. Namaste :)

    • @silvialain
      @silvialain 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      mantis40 The secret is just don't give up. Go skate as much as you possibly can , and just add experience. You will improve with the confidence you get. Takes a lot of years to skate like these guys. (Btw I'm a beginner myself , I stop with the brake attached on the right skate lol.. Now and then I try to brake by making a T with foot behind , it goes pretty well.)

    What are the basics of a good looking stride and flow? Always when I skate, or see people skating, look at it and I can't tell what is it lacking. That little bit that would make skating look good; professional.

    2 questions :
    1 what's some good flat ground tricks that you can do while cruising in the streets.
    2. Can you do a tutorial on how to go fast downhill with normal skates, I got a very short frame and it starts very soon to wobble and getting shaky even if I try to stay strong as possible.
    One love peace

      Crouch down, knees bent one foot slightly in front of the other, fore arms on your knees (like you're squatting for a pooh lol) eyes looking through your praying hands.. If you want to slow down a bit, stand up arms out straight shoulder height like your standing on a cross.. sounds like a steep hill

    Hi Shaun, very good stuff you do, really thank you :) Now my Qs:
    1. Can you make a film when you ride most basic, low budget skates from market? I checked your Wizards and they are awesome, but this price is killer... seeing you doing tricks in 50-100$ skates would be fun :)
    2. Can you recommend optimal skills for developing urban skating? What should be learned first? It's super unique for everyone but maybe there are some golden rules?
    3. Make it sense to read books about skating, when everything is on YT? Do you recommend any?
    4. What music do you listen when you ride? The same as on films? I doubt...
    5. You always welcome with "Namaste", are you a religious person or this is just nice way to say hello for you?
    6. Since when you skates? Probably in Canada kids are going to school on ice skates? ;) sorry for bad joke ;)
    Piotr

    Hey Shaun, I love watching your flows, your enthusiasm for skating is infectious.
    Q: You roll 5 wheels a lot but, presumably, this wasn't always the case; could you talk about the evolution of your skate preferences, how you ended up rolling 5 wheels, and what you see yourself rolling in the future?

      @@RichHayterSkater i think he appears in 2 of them. cant remember exactly which ones. when i watched them back in march or so i did comment on his (Shains) current video at the time but even then i wouldnt know which videos i posted that comment in. those better tan baseball etc are quite long videos and as i say he is only in them for 5 mins or so. so you will have to check them all the way through. just look for ones in the first 20 or so posts and where todd and joey are young. the ones with their mate who is like marylin manson, vaguely, todd cuts his arm open with a knife in one. he will be in those ones

    I do have a question for a Q&A. Would you do all your tricks and evolutions with the same ease on much softer wheels, say 78A? I got a pair of skates when I had very little knowledge and they came with 78A wheels. I find them too "catchy" on the ground to make slides and rotations. Now, that they are worn, I'm planning to replace them with some 84A wheels. I'm wondering if a source of my problems is not softness of my wheels. I'm skating outdoors on tarmac, mainly in much warmer temperatures than on this video. Namaste. ;)

    • @Bavmorda
      @Bavmorda 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      78A is intended for indoors skating, definitely too soft for the road, of course they feel catchy, you will notice the difference big time (but don't expect to automatically have everything figured out, you'll have to adjust 😉) 84A wheels will also last you a whole lot more.

    You know, these transitions that you make make me go back and pause to see the slow motion, then try to make the move, but one thing is clear to me, the shaking of the body makes all the difference . I've been following your tutorials too. You and your class skates too much ... Do you usually teach?

    Hey Shaun, how do you get the confidence to practise in public when you're a beginner? Also what do you recommend for learning when you live in a really hilly area?

    • @silvialain
      @silvialain 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      VampireofEmotion Don't care about others. Don't wait till you get sorry you didn't do it . Think it's your last day on earth. The last day you will ever be able to do what you want to. And , I do it but I don't recommend in particular if you're a minor , but I like to drink a beer or two before. For the learning in a really hilly area , just go to the spot that is the flattest , that's what I would do.

      I remember starting out trick skating and now that I look back I definitely didn’t look like a pro, but I was so dedicated to solve that trick and having lots of fun doing it that it felt good to go out and do it again. If it makes sense, start stacking tricks in your city and perfect the obstacles, trust the process the flow will come

How about people who are shorter than you would it be hard for them to use such a skate with long base when they try to do these switching tricks? Can you make a video explaining five (more or less) tricks we used to see in your videos to become pro in flow skating as your style?
