Hey, cool video! Deftones - My own summer is 100% meant for this list haha If you wanna throw in some wildcards Dear Prudence by the Beatles and Never Going Back Again by Fleetwood Mac are both classic songs in Drop D with great guitar
Everlong is just a different beast of a riff to me. Nothing captures a more nostalgic/melancholic feel than the intro of that song. One of my favorites of all time.
"Lay it Down" doesn't get enough credit. Super cool riff.

Home is a quality song. One of my favourite DT songs. I actually think its played in D Standard tuning rather than Drop D tbh
@@wilko6679 I watched a couple if live shows he plays in Drop D, you can see he plays open d power chord at syncopated part also the triplet legato part is same as I tabbed, you need to watch carefully

Yeah isn`t it weird. I was thinking, before even watching this video............I bet Helmet is NOT in here........and of course it wasn`t. All the videos on Drop D riffs I´ve seen, doesn`t contain Helmet, and I don`t get it. They are, like you wrote, " The Kings Of drop D " !!!!!! Take care dude.

Great selection. Normally you only get riffs that are super beginner friendly and those can get boring because they're always the same ones
Unchained by Van Halen is the undisputed gold standard of this tuning pattern. I know it's not in D, but it is shows what is capable more than any other example

@@MrRolyat98 C#, or the closest Van Halen get to it with their "by ear" tuning. They mostly tuned down half a step to get that darker feel

I my case, 20 Guitar Drop D Guitar Riffs I've mostly never heard before, by bands I've mostly never heard of. Jeez, I'm getting old.
This is a really good list like really good!!! But I wouldn’t say greatest when songs like Spoon Man and Outshined by SoundGarden aren’t on the list. But it’s still a great list though.

Many people these days are going lower and lower, especially metalcore bands. I’ve seen some songs even in drop F
I just improvise most of the time, and when I want chunky down low heavy metal mood, I tune my top string down like this.
