RBB is actually my first RV comeback because of divinely Bad Boy. I thought the song would have same theme and genre like Bad Boy. BUT NO, IT WAS LIKE A FRIKKIN SMACK TO MY FACE. Felt confused to first listen to RBB, I instantly listen to ALL their songs, yes, including B-sides, that's how I know that RV does not use same genre and prioritise RnB.
I become Reveluv during RBB era and I don't regret it.

But the thing is, red velvet subverts all expectations and simply create music in various genres to explore their creativity. Not just to follow what's popular for them just because it sells.

I became fan of RV in Russian Roulette era, at that time the velvet concept they had done is be natural, automatic, and one of these nights, and Red concept still main character at that time hahahah. Every comeback of RV is a whole new explore and adventure tbh, so yeah let's just go wild and enjoy everything we get from them, instead of expecting a bad boy or psycho 2.0

It’s definitely a velvet comeback, velvet isn’t just how the music sounds it’s the aesthetic. Peek-a-boo doesn’t really sound like Bad Boy or Psycho but it’s still Velvet. It may be colourful at parts but it’s very feminine which is a key component to their Velvet side.

I knew the music but i don't know the title of the piece but i read from ReacttotheK's twitter acct (they were classical and jazz music students who also react to kpop songs) and they mentioned there that red velvet's schedule list used a musical sheet which was the arrangement of bach's air on the g string. (mind blowned🤯) i am also waiting for their reaction to this song but as per schedule it will be released on april.

I think people should really stop setting their expectations of wanting a Velvet or Red RV song based on teasers and pictures. We'll never know what we're going to get so just enjoy it when it comes! (Especially for those who largely like their Velvet side - the rule is, if that's what you were expecting that's not what you're gonna get cos it's Red Velvet) 😆
Also why do people expect a Velvet concept just because the previous one was Red? There's no pattern with them!!

@Michi For some reason every concept that has a remotely Velvet vibe people will think that's what the song will be only to disappoint themselves. It doesn't help that many new fans start stanning because of Bad Boy and Psycho. Anyways, it's their loss. I enjoy both sides so it's double the delight for me 😊

Joy : Odette, the swan princess
Seulgi : Odile, the magician’s daughter
Irene represent moon/midnight (the time when the swan can transform into the beautiful princess)
Wendy represent the lake/water
Yeri i’m not really sure but i think she represent the forest fairy because of the berries, plants, and animals which dancing around her or maybe she represents the true love that can break the swan princess curse.
The MV was most inspired by "The Garden Of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch. It's a three piece painting created in 1490-1510. Nobody knows the correct interpretation of the original artist, but it is a three piece that is read from left to right and seems to be depicting heaven, earth, and then hell. But by looking at the MV and the painting side by side, they added other classic fairy tales such as (from what I can see) ugly duckling, swan lake, a present from the princess, and many more that I need to specifically look for. Several other painting that can be seen from the MV would be Monet with woman with a Parasol (Madame Monet and her Son) and Ophelia by John Everett Millais. I hope that this MV sparks the interest to renaissance arts and classical music!

Yes, so basically:
Irene wants to regain control of everything in this mad realm by offering strawberries to that giant monstrosity of a baby (as she should be).
Joy is trapped somewhere and asking for help (probably because of Irene).
Yeri has power over this realm by being the ruler of the good humanoid birds and she wants to help Joy (werk bird queen!).
Seulgi is the girl-boss of the evil humanoid birds (Periodt).
Wendy just wanna get the fuck out of this wonderland-disguised hell (We stan!).

I think seulgi is an owl based on the scene in the last chorus
There is a theory that they are a cult of witches trying to control each other. The reve festival triology is a story of Irene being in control but was overpowered by Joy in Psycho Era. Joy won by killing all the members. Thats why in the psycho cover photo you won't see joy. You will just see a cat approaching the house with Irene, wendy, Yeri and seulgi in it. The cat was joy in psycho era and psycho was supposed to be the ending however because of the spell that irene casted in zimzalabim, The members are now trapped in a time loop in which means they will go back to zimzalabim era and restart everything. In Feel my rhythm era Seulgi won being the most powerful. Seulgi trapped Joy somewhere using a cast spell while Irene seems to be trapped in her own mind. Meaning she is asleep while being detained by seulgi's puppet. Wendy wants to escape the world but she found a big strawbery instead, My theory is that Joy is trapped inside the big strawberry. The last member is Yeri and she seems strong enough to withstand seulgi's power but I think Yeri is in the protection of Joy's power. Joy is the queen of the chicks.

I am a bright concept enthusiast, but ngl I wished for a darker one. But I do like both concepts. Regardless, I think this is better than expected. They served the best strawberries to the table and were tasty enough to make me feel so enchanted. This is their best bright song for me. The visuals are very elegant yet girl crushy and I love it.

i kinda of expected that it will not be that dark song since its a spring comeback tho i really wish for something dark like psycho but nevertheless doesnt mean that this is bad in fact its one of my fav title track! they usually released tht dark kind of song during winter or the end of the year. since they will release more album this year i expect they will also release the dark velvet concept later. my guess is their next release (aside from japanese album) will be during summer and then near end of the year.

Trust me, you won't ever find another kpop group like Red Velvet. They're so unique and never follows the trend. While the others are chasing girl crush concept, Red Velvet went to opposite way. They won't stick to one concept, and their music are all new. Even though they used a sample this time, the music feels new to me. Thank you for this reaction. 😌 Tbh, I wasn't really a fan of this album and this song, but the production of this MV was amazing. My favorite part was also Yeri rap. I still think their best albums are Red Summer and The Perfect Red Velvet, but I really appreciate seeing their diversity in their music and that's what makes me like them so much. I understood with Red Velvet that you should never expect anything from them because they can do something completely different than what you would have thought or wanted to have. I love them, but I still hope there will be a Velvet concept, even if I also appreciate their other side.
