I really like the MV. It doesn’t go for flashy crazy sets for the sake of it, but everything flows together with purpose. The monochromatic backdrops are obviously really cheap but it just fits so well that those scenes just wouldn’t have the same impact without it. They also didn’t compromise on the cinematography. You can literally stop the video at any point and frame it on a wall. Except for the CGI part, SM just kinda folded there
Simplicity gives more power than over budget CGI. It was definitely intentional because the song is also simple and clean in terms of instrumental, but that gives more definition to the concept and her aura. It’s actually a very clever idea and it was executed really well.

She said that it's about her album which makes sense 'coz first thing popped in my mind was Deadman runnin. Overall, I enjoyed Seulgi's MV. I love her acting, choreography as well as her voice. It's full packed!!!! 💛
the pre-chorus feels so good because it was a contrast from the 1st verse, the 1st verse made us feel vulnerable for changes in the incoming pre-chorus. the second chorus feels good because it had the whistle at the first part of it while the 1st chorus didn't had that in the first part. omgggggg i got chills the first time listening to this, and I still do everytime I listen to this.😳✨

When you said some people were saying it's not what's in the trailer.... some people don't understand the difference between an album trailer and the MV trailer. Anyone who was disappointed about this debut needs to reset their perspective and listen again. Because it's incredible! AND THE ALBUM is just as amazing, even better songs imo. No skips. All great! Seulgi has said that the album trailer represents a reality, and that person goes into a dream where they face the inner battle of good and evil. I feel like the figure we see at the beginning and end in the white dress is that person in reality of the album trailer. Quite honestly.... I'm not sure what says power more than Seulgi's vocals and her presence in this video - maybe just because it has minimal instrumental at times and she sings a wide variety of espression in this song? It has a great narrative feeling throughout. I can imagine that for folks who saw Monster they never saw Red Velvet members go THAT DIRECTION really - it was a new level. But this song and album are soooo artistic and she is featured so perfectly. I have a feeling when you listen to the album you might think another song would be a better received title track in the way you were talking about.... but - I loved this and Seulgi chose it so I think it's perfect for her. :)
There's a certain restraint in her vocal delivery in this song that reminds singers like Aaliyah & Tinashe. It's a very alluring type of approach that I like coming from Seuligi, very fitting.
