This is definitely a Celine song. If you don't remember, it was the song she did that had a violin part throughout the song.

She sang this one for Cory, they filmed this when he went to rehab , It was his last credits on glee 🥺 and she sang this one live thats why the extras look stunned they said she gave them goosebumps

Always felt this was such an underrated cover. It's not just the vocals but the emotion that makes it so good. Cory was actually in rehab when they filmed this (that's why he wasn't in the last episodes of S4) and a few months later he died. It always makes me so emotional.

The last note is even more impressive. The last breath she takes is before ''Let me be the you love you most'' at 7:22. Which is 28 seconds of singing without taking a breath. At 7:31 she doesn't catch her breath, she changes notes.
I can't decide between To Love You More, My Man, This Time, It's All Coming Back to Me Now, Uninvited or Defying Gravity as her best performance. She was always, and is always, the best singer on Glee. Truly remarkable.
I loved her version of Don't Rain on my Parade which is such a tough song to sing

This song was the song Lea wanted to sing for Nationals season 3. She said kept asking to sing it and they gave her the "wrong Celine song" for Nationals but she got to sing it later(here) in season 4
It was the one Tina sang during the swap episode that Lea wanted to do and practically begged for. Not knocking Jenna's voice its honestly her best song, I just find it ironic that she did it as Rachel when Lea wanted the song

I've also seen multiple interviews with her discussing how this song was the one she wanted to sing for nationals and how happy she was when she finally got to sing it. Ryan wouldn't have given that song to Jenna if it was that important to Lea, she was a favorite of his
@@annemariecronen9096 Totally agree. He can't be that generous to Jenna/Tina lol. And also, Because You Loved Me has a lot of riffs and runs, and I don't think Lea would do it as good as Jenna. I mean Lea definitely can do riffs and runs, it's just that Jenna is way better in terms of agility, for me Jenna and Naya win for versatility and agility. But all three of them are great singers, definitely top tier singers in Glee along with Amber for sure.

I understand why they didnt. The other song was a bigger hit than this one, more instantly recognizable and worked better for that scene and the medley of songs sung at Nationals. In the end, this was not only a much better way to showcase her talent on this particular song (isolated, with the right production), but because the song means so much to her and is so powerful, it made something as seemingly bland as an audition feel striking, powerful, and unexpexted. After 4 seasons we were all used to her being an incredible singer, that much is a given. And "Rachel" was going to nail any song she chose to sing. So to somehow still blow us out of the water when the bar was so high was really something. I'm glad he held it back. He picked the right moment.
For me this is the song that proves Lea is by far the most technically proficient singer in Glee. There are some great singers in the cast, but what she does here is beyond the abilities of most people. She is careful to keep it in her range too which gives her greater control over all the breath work. My favourite solo performance of hers. Felt more of Lea and less of Rachel too.

Rachel was every inch of a diva, rivaling Mercedes and Santana, and annoyed everyone at some point, but she had talent to back up that ego. Yes a lot of the Glee singers didn’t get enough time in the spotlight however Rachel constantly proved she was worthy of her time. The only singer I wished had more songs than Rachel is Rory his voice was like chocolate melting in your mouth delicious goodness.
I still don't get that it wasn't American Idol where everyone got a song. They all got spotlight even when it didn't make sense for the plot some of them sang.
This is my personal favorite performance of Lea on Glee. It's just breathtaking and encapsulates how skilled AND emotive Lea is.

Lea suggested this to Ryan Murphy but he mistakeningly put in It's All Coming Back To Me Now instead at the end of season 3. She didn't say anything to him but it was brought up later at Comic Con and so they did this to end season 4.
She is so damn talented and people questioned why she was the Star/lead of the show and got all the solos LOL 😂
Others definitely deserved more attention, but both Rachel and Lea were just incredible. They deserved so much of what they had.

Probably the best Rachel Berry solo performance on the show, which is kind of wild with how many solos she's had. This one is just so immaculate

Even Celine has to take a breath in the middle of that section, so this was an impressive showing from Lea.
Probably due to the fact that this is a heavily edited studio recording. Celine has to do it live. It’s no knock to Lea or her incredible talent, but I never take the glee studio versions at face value as it’s well known they were heavily edited and processed.
@@adamsamess2163 But it's just about 19 or 20 seconds. I'm sure Lea can sing it live. And so does Celine. It's just that Celine probably a bit tired because of her previous songs, or when she's not fully prepared or having a bad day. That's definitely a frickin long note, but I think a lot great and trained singers can do it, it's not that impossible to do.
@@moreandmore7962 It’s not impossible, no, but the argument was made that Leas was more impressive than Celines. My point was that Lea did this in a studio over a whole key lower than Celine did. Both of those factors made it easier for her on her part. Versus Celine who still sings the song in the original key today.
