    Top of my list for printers I want right now. Just seems like the most capable printer for the money. My main desire would be that it was slightly larger.

      Totally agree! It’s a great printer and for under $500? It’s hard to beat. Also I agree with it was 280-300 for print area. 246 isn’t bad, bigger than the k1C

    Overall I think this is a great printer, there are a hand full of things that could have been done differently but they are mostly cosmetic. The Q1 Pro prints great with all the different filaments I through at it. If this printer is something you are interested it you can use our affiliate link to support the channel. We do not know how long the $470 price will last but I think its an awesome deal for that low price! Qidi Q1 Pro: shrsl.com/4hmkv

    My first 3d printer. Just doing test prints to start, but I see it's value in many areas. I'm a beginner 3d printer, but far from beginner in general IT and other things. But I didn't use much of my general knowledge to get mine printing. Find existing designs already built online and have a ball! The hardest part of any beginner 3d work is CAD and Slicers. But use QIDI's slicer -- it knows this printer -- and move on as your knowledge improves. Then move on to designing your own prints using CAD. I'm glad I own one. Maybe two soon.

    We're all beta testers for released products now... luckily, the support community and Qidi CS reviews seem to be very well received and have been more than open in replacing under warranty or upgrading parts if something was defective... while I hate beta testing commercially released products... Qidi seems like a worthwhile company to take a leap on. I ordered this for the end of may US pre-sale... so I can only hope the additional 1.5months is for update/refit of parts found to be lacking sent out to reviewers like yourself and then push the V1.1 model perse.

    • @TwoMooseDesign
      @TwoMooseDesign  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’d love for them to make the minor updates and send out the same but different machine with the updates. I think it’s a great printer just needs a few tweaks

    • @802Garage
      @802Garage 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it's also okay to recognize that making a perfect product is difficult and that real people have to do this work with budgets and deadlines. I'd hardly call this an unfinished product, even if it's imperfect. There are definitely examples of printers that were half baked and shouldn't have been released, but I think this is just one approach to creating a machine at a price point with a lot of great features and not every little thing how everyone would prefer it.

      @stew675 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Qidi, with the X-3 series, have a long history of updating the models over the production runs. They don't re-release them as sub-models. Bambu and Creality do the same. The models of the X1C and the K1 all received continual hardware improvements over time. The Qidi X-Plus 3, for example, is on about revision 5 now from what was originally reviewed back in March 2023, and has received about 3 updates since most of the re-release reviews in June 2023. The differences aren't huge, but they do address most of the quibbles that reviewers and early users experienced.

      I know the tech is alot more advanced than machines a few years old- but I took a chance on a less common smaller brand back then for my printer and have NEVER, not one time had an issue (that wasn't my fault)😂 never called customer service. All parts moved when and how they should. And I beat the brakes off of it to this very day cranked above what they listed the maximum speeds and Temps as😅 seeing all the "unwilling beta testers" with the Q1 (which I'm heavily considering) is kinda scaring me towards spending aLOT more money on like a x1 carbon.

    I've had a few issues with mine. First the printer would not boot , till support told me to unplug the WIFI dongle , boot the printer then update and reinstall the dongle. Second while using the chamber heater for abs , it would lock up at random time and the printer would just not do anything. Had to power cycle. Support told me not to use the heater until the replacement parts an adapter plate and cable arrived. Also when I start a new print after a long one , it starts normally and goes to heat the nozzle to purge and as soon as the purge starts the heater turns off and the extruder starts skipping. Other then that its great.

    QIDI has made some changes to the Q1. The build sheet is easier to place accurately plus an ethernet port. The power cord argument is a little lame but the power switch could have been moved to the front.

    • @TwoMooseDesign
      @TwoMooseDesign  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Both print great. The only differences are size and the qidi has a heated chamber. The k1c is smaller and has a more streamlined compact size to it. The qidi is bulky but will print better with filaments such as abs or Asa. Most likely you will mostly use PLA filament which it will not need a heated chamber.

      I use mostly Sunlu. And if it prints rough lower the max volumetric flow rate down like 1-2 numbers. Should be at like 4-5 lower it to 3 and see how that prints. It’s in the filament settings at the bottom

    I ordered this printer right when it came out. The web page said it'll arrive in 4-6 days. I waited for almost a month. Then I wrote them asking if they're going to send it at all and if not, then return the money. They immediately canceled the order. So I guess they were just planning on not sending it at all and keeping the money if I hadn't asked for it. I got an extremely husled feeling.

    How can someone put 200hrs into a machine and not work out that there's a very obvious design on the bottom of the machine for opening the door. It's right there?

    • @TwoMooseDesign
      @TwoMooseDesign  หลายเดือนก่อน

      What? lol there’s literally a jut out for a handle with no groove. There’s a groove on the bottom but it’s exactly the same as on the side where the handle should be. Like I mentioned it’s not a big deal and I’m nit picking, the printer prints great. If I come on here and give zero critique I’ll get people complaining about that. I have a flash forge that has the same plastic door with a far better handle design, again not a big deal but you need to give the companies feedback to improve the printers.

      sure but its not a handle. its ergonomically a fail. big deal? no but i have to critique the printers, if i gave no feedback whats the point of doing a review. If we dont hold these companies accountable they will just put out the bare minimum trash but by all means think you're funny. Feel free to find a channel that only fluffs printers and tells you how perfect they are and you'll have zero problems.

    The lid you guys complain about you could 3d print a small riser for the lid. Not that big of a deal. Same goes with the plate alignment. For a channel with design in the name it's wierd you point out flaws they should've fixed but don't create your own solution to the problem.

    • @TwoMooseDesign
      @TwoMooseDesign  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Sure I absolutely can and will. But for a brand new printer you shouldn’t have to make modifications as I’m sure many will agree. It’s a $500 printer that will most likely be $600 soon. Why should I have to “make it work” when I don’t have to with other printers. I mentioned they were minor issues and mostly cosmetic. What’s the point of a review if I only point out positive things? Then people will complain about that, maybe you should make your own review videos if you have such strong opinions. I’m just trying to do the best I can and make fair review videos. Imagine buying a new car and the door doesn’t work right and the dealership says “well you can just fix it right?” It’s a silly comment.

      lol yeah I don’t get it, these companies need feedback to not put out sub par machines. A $500-600 machine should be pretty solid and not have a bunch of flaws whether they are minor or not. Typically they make the first printer take the feedback and then release and updated version a few months later 🤷🏼‍♂️ I also never said it was a bad printer, just has a few minor nit picks lol

      @@TwoMooseDesign you don't have to "make it work" the thing literally works right out the box. The things your complaining about are super minor and you could make changes yourself. Again for a channel with "design" in your name you sure came up with a whole lot of solutions to minor problems... your comparison to a car and a 3d printer are hilarious too! I own a fully loaded vehicle and a more base model vehicle. Maybe I should complain about all the sick features my base model lacks in comparison to my fully loaded vehicle.
