They both have wonderful charm and there on and off screen chemistry is hard to miss. In every interview or video I've seen of them together Julie can't seem to stop finding ways to touch him, hold his hand or lean on him. They are always looking at each other and I find it abso-bloomin-lutely loverly.😉

Hit your mark, speak your line, perhaps make a face, and return to your trailer. Film is a director’s and film editors medium. Do 20 takes if you must and then splice a few together if you don’t get the performance you want. Dame Julie and Mr. Plummer were trained for the stage. It is this shared experience that made them the magnificent dramatic artists they became. Hence their magic in performance that even the camera cannot miss. When Julie Andrews and her few remaining peers pass away they will not be replaced. Mind-dulling animation and celebrity culture will be victorious over true art.
Chris was a terrible boozer, alcoholic. His 3rd wife helped him get off the booze. She is his widow. He was not free to marry again before his death. Julie had alcoholic parents. I am sure from the heartbreak she suffered in an unbalanced home, she would not want an alcoholic for a husband, no matter how handsome he was. And he was!

I think Julie dodged a bullet by keeping Chris in the friend lane. She grew up with an alcoholic stepdad and a heavy drinking mother. With Emma so young, Julie was wise to not embark on an affair with Chris. She was emotionally vulnerable and he was drinking every night. She was probably hoping for a reconciliation with Tony.
Maria in the movie doesn´t look like real Maria,the one in the movie was more sweet,kind and with a good mood with everybody.I read the book and real Maria was very determined and as she said she married George without loving him,she felt in love with him later.The children didn´t want that marriage.
It's true, they fell in love for each other when they met to film the sound of music. Mr. Plummer came from a rich family, he was a playboy, Julie came from a lower middle class family, she was shy. When they met for TSOM Julie had a little girl of 2 years old, she wanted stability, and Mr. Plummer didn't like children and was too immature for her. But even though they remained Best friends to this day. They kiss each other in public, Mr. Plummer is always saying they should've ended up together. They worked together in other shows and they were often kissing each other, I mean kissing. They are not married to each other, but they love each other.
