History:
The ketch sailing yacht was custom-built for a member of the Boeing Aircraft family and was considered one of the most luxurious sailing yachts ever commissioned in the Pacific Northwest. Designed by Ben Seaborne, engineered by Boeing Aircraft, and rigged by Sparkman and Stephens, TATOOSH has a rich history of craftsmanship.
Construction:
This impressive sailing yacht’s hull is constructed with Alaskan Yellow Cedar and bronze fastened, and even the rudder is bronze. Additionally, the yacht’s Oak frames have been strengthened with monel strapping.
Interior:
TATOOSH's interior has a minimalistic elegance with teak paneling and teak and holly varnished floors. The interior is very functional and practical for living aboard for extended periods. The spacious main salon is comfortable and provides a lovely space for relaxing with a built-in settee and two chairs. TATOOSH’s well-equipped galley offers all the necessities and allows for easy meal prep while at sea.
Accommodations:
Luxury yacht TATOOSH sleeps up to eight guests in three comfortable cabins. Her full-beam master cabin offers two large double berths with an en-suite bath. Forward on the port side is a guest stateroom with a double berth and a single berth, just opposite is another guest stateroom with a large double berth. These two guest staterooms share a bath. Additionally, the sailing yacht has a crew cabin forward for two crewmembers.
Deck and Notable Ownership:
The yacht’s deck provides an exquisite cockpit with ample seating for up to 15 people on each side of the center steering console. TATOOSH has had generous owners throughout its lifetime who have helped keep her in the notable condition she is in today. The most notable was the late actor Peter Fonda, who cruised TATOOSH extensively throughout the South Pacific, Hawaii, and Mexico.
