How to Stop the Google Photo App from Automatically Backing up Your Photos and Videos

  • In this video I'll show you how you can stop the Google photo app on your android phone from automatically backing up your photographs and videos to your Google account. If you take a lot of photos, or videos you may find that it slows down your Wi-Fi by backing your files up. Disabling this feature will not delete your photographs, as there will still be stored on your android smartphone.

    I've already done that but it still backs up even though the "back up and sync" is turned off. It's so frustrating!

      I'm a late-comer to the club, but it seems like I can't stop Google's access into my photos either, and when I delete a photo from Photos, it deletes from my phone, and I don't want that.

    What Im not understanding is why after doing all of this.. As I continue to take pics and vids these stilll appear on google photos. Maybe not backed up but still there none the less plus when I delete them from the app they get deleted off my phone too and when I restore to my phone it restores to my non backed up goodle photos. And thats the part I want stopped..
