    We have the same table and using Mach 3. We had issue with the initial cuts with the plasma cutter firing too long and not shutting off at certain points. Thanks for the video. We are excited to use this, but definitely need some pointers.

    Thank you for recommending the machine and then NOT saying use your “discount code” at the end. I’m always like: well of course you would recommend the machine, you’re getting paid! Haha!

    I have been considering the Langmuir but I've seen several videos that praise their customer service when they resolve problems that get should have been caught before the unit leaves the manufacturer. Thanks for the video though. It was very informative.

      Hey Dave! I've been very pleased with mine and just recently ordered their PRO machine. The issues I have had with my current machine probably should have been caught before it went out but thankfully their customer service is top notch and had me back up and running extremely fast!

    Thanks for the update and tip on Sheetcam. Need to save up for one of these tables.

      Hope you get one! It's been so nice being able to make parts whenever I need them!

      You won’t regret it. Having a table that’s paid for when you get it is hard to argue with. Taking on debt knowing you can make it back in a month or two isn’t bad either. I just finished a $2,000 desk that was partly done on the Langmuir. Was it worth it?

    I was gonna do a set up like that with a little giant pump. Do you have your pump setting up off the bottom of your water reservoir (tote)? To help from picking up sediment when you fill the bed. Nice set up!

      Thanks! Yep I have it sitting on a 1" piece of aluminum so it doesn't collect any junk. Been using it for over a year this way with no issues. I have since upgraded to the Crossfire Pro and using the same setup.

    Hey, what traffic light is that you have hanging provocatively close to the CNC table?

    • @MetalMakerShop
      @MetalMakerShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It came from an army base close to my house called the Arsenal (Camp Ravenna). They had pallets full of them and were throwing them out. I was able to get a few!

    Cool video! I’m struggling to figure out what type of laptop I need. With your background in design, can you comment on what you have and what you would buy if you were going to get a new laptop off Amazon?

      Thanks Nick! Depending on what software you are using but anything that's listed as "gaming" should be sufficient.

    Do you have any experience with primeweld cut60. I just ordered the crossfire fire pro and ordered the prime weld 60 over the razor weld 45. It took me a long time to make my mind up between the 2 cutters. I hope I didn't make a mistake

    • @MetalMakerShop
      @MetalMakerShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't personally used the Primeweld but I have ready in various groups and forums that it is a decent machine and consumables are very affordable. I've heard a lot of bad stuff about the Razorweld products. I had a Razorweld 30i before I upgraded to hypertherm and overall it cut well but when it didn't it was a bear to troubleshoot!

    Just got my Langmuir crossfire pro. Got it assembled but was wondering what type of laptop to get. This is out of my comfort zone. I'm old school and not used to computers. Would you recommend taking a computer course before even starting with this thing

    • @MetalMakerShop
      @MetalMakerShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome man! If you're just running the table any older laptop will do. I'm using one that's about 8yrs old and has no issues. As far as designing you want something a little newer and would recommend watching some TH-cam videos on design programs like Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator. Langmuir recommends Fusion360 but it has Avery steep learning curve and I think it's overkill for plasma work. Also get a copy of Sheetcam, you will need that to export DXF files to code so the table can read it. Super easy to use and doesn't take much to run it. :)

      @@MetalMakerShop Thank you for that info. Like I said I have lots to learn which would be easy for my grangkids

    How much power of a computer do you suggest that I need to run the programs and designs for this plasma cutting system, my table is supposed to be here, well who knows but it's been 3 weeks sense order went in so, what 7 weeks turn around time I believe, but your suggestions would be invaluable, tks Mike

    • @MetalMakerShop
      @MetalMakerShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man! So to run the table it doesn't take much. I used an old laptop with no issues for a long time. However with the latest version of firecontol you need a newer graphics card or the image of whatvis being cut won't show. For designing I'd recommend a gaming computer, it doesn't have to be brand new but the more processing power you have the easier it will be especially if your design in Fusion360. Inkscape will take less to run if your using that.

  • @hacklabdesign
    @hacklabdesign 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you recommend a non-high freq plasma cutter around $500-700

    • @MetalMakerShop
      @MetalMakerShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure how thick you need to cut, but the Vipercut 30i is a great little machine and consumables are cheap if .25" is your max. Also check in to Everlast or Titanium brands. A lot of guys are using those to save money on buying a Miller or Hypertherm unit.

  • @MaedarOH

    How do you find the software? I just got access to Autodesk Fusion, and it seems REALLY complicated.

    • @MetalMakerShop
      @MetalMakerShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fusion is a great program but for 2d plasma its way overkill. Check out Inkscape its free and easy to work with. I use Adobe Illustrator with good results. Secondly buy Sheetcam its $150 and worth every penny! Its a simple program and works great.

    Awesome! So do you drain the water out every time you’re done using the machine?

    • @MetalMakerShop
      @MetalMakerShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yep I drain after every cut session, I dont like using any rust inhibitors and havent had any issues yet doing so. Also makes it easy to keep up with cleaning out the table.

    • @PosParts
      @PosParts 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MetalMakerShop That's true. I've always wondered if using the rust free solutions like Plasma Green 9010 would leave a oily residue that everything would stick to.

    What air compressor are you using with this set up

    • @MetalMakerShop
      @MetalMakerShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a Campbell Hausfeld 60gal tank. It does a good job keeping up with the system no problem. I keep a constant 70psi to the plasma when I'm running it. Mine is a bit older but the link below is the one I have with same specs.

    • @ManCrafting
      @ManCrafting 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a Northern tool 60g. I may add a second tank to reduce the compressor wanting to run, but it’s not been an issue.
