    Dude. Great upgrades. I love your computer stand solution. I had looked at cutting the the stand like you had but am not 100% sure it will work for my space. The Langmuir Pro is still my best tool purchase of 2020. I liked the crossfire but the pro I love. As for the workflow. Most 2D design isn’t that difficult to learn. I still use Inkscape or Illustrator. I just can’t focus long enough to get proficient at 360. Maybe now that I’m a man of leisure I’ll make it happen. Right after I complete my 14 weeks at GTS.

    • @510BIGD
      @510BIGD ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HouseofChop Good question. Since I'm getting the crossfire in the next 30 days I'd be interested in knowing. Guess you could put the RV antifreeze in a metal coffee can and heat it up and run a flame over it to test it.

    • @HouseofChop
      @HouseofChop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@510BIGD Congratulations on your new table. It’s a game changer. Just an awesome tool. Your going to love it
      I’d be a bit careful with the antifreeze not just for it’s potential to catch fire but also the fumes it might put out. I’m not saying it won’t work or it’s definitely a bad idea but we are talking about heating it hotter than the surface of the sun. A plasma torch reaching 45k° can make some interesting things happen. You’ll see when you fire it up it’s a little cauldron of hell under that torch. Also it’s important to consider the elements you are adding. As the metal melts it will interact with the super heated liquid and all sorts of interesting science could be happening. In fact some of liquid made for tables will still caution to not use aluminum or other metals because of this reactivity. Be safe and stay healthy.

  • @Vikes-hw1re
    @Vikes-hw1re 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I’m confused, what’s the point of the plasma cutter if you’re not using it? Everything in the video could have been made on the table in simple sections and simply bolted together or welded.
    Other wise nice video and nice work.

    • @HouseofChop
      @HouseofChop  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Appreciate you watching and taking a moment to leave a comment. Honest question, what part of the project did you think would have been better served by the plasma cutter? I’m always down for learning something.
      Much of what I do is not in service of the project I’m doing but the one that is coming up. Many times I’ll take the long way around to get more proficient on a tool or a technique that I’ll need for something more demanding later.

      Great question. Absolutely needed and I will upgrade my table to have it. That table is badass I’ve been super happy with it! It’s from Strong Hand Tools. They call it the Rhino Cart and man did they ever get it right. I can do you one better on the info. I actually did a video on it going over all the details. Check it out. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out

    what saw and blade combo is that? I tried cutting metal on my miter saw with metal blade but the blade went dull after the first cut.

    • @HouseofChop
      @HouseofChop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you jump down into the description there is a link for the blade and the saw. It’s the Evolution 10” miter with a Diablo blade. Killer combo. I did a video on it to if you want to check it out. For the cost I can’t believe how much work I’ve gotten out of that saw and the blades LAST! 😉

    Awesome video. What break were you using for the heavy gauge steel. How does that green stuff do with evaporation?

    • @HouseofChop
      @HouseofChop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Rob. The mag brake is from Baileigh Industrial. The plasma quench is great because it slows down the evaporation and the water that does evaporate leaves the quench behind. So when you get a bit low you can just add a bit more water and the mix is still at the right concentration. Appreciate you watching 🙌🏼
