I have been diagnosed with spondilolithesis, have been in pain off and on for 2 years, if I lay on my back and sit with my left leg at hip height I have no pain at all. But standing and walkingtriggers pains in lower back and down my butt and leg. Also have degenerative disc disease. What can I do???
Hey Kathy! thanks for watching and sharing your story. Good news- if your pain has been on and off for 2 years- it's unlikely to be caused by the spondy (the spondy doesn't come and go, but your symptoms do!). Sounds like you'll likely respond to motions that move your body forward... but this would require testing. I'd also be curious to see how we could modify your walking to alleviate your symptoms, as this would give us more evidence as to what you would best prefer/respond to motion wise. More detective work to be done here... If you're interested in me reviewing your case to see if/how I may be able to help- just visit www.drcharliejohnsonpt.com/apply - select a time to chat, then follow instructions to submit details of your case. Sound good? Hang in there Kathy! Dr. Charlie PT
