Good luck Sophia! I find it a bit strange that the FIA introduced a standard steering wheel into F2/F2 where you can't change the grips to fit smaller hands, its like another barrier for female drivers (though I've seen this complaint from guys are well)
Tbh that is pretty weird, especially when you see the steering wheels in f1 taylored to fit the drivers hands. (with the compromise of a second driver per team.) Imo that should be the same in all racing classes that use not full steering wheels.
@@mrgalaxy396 Yeah its spec, but its not limited budgets, they are trying to restrict cost to reduce spending in F3/F2 (but then added the fly-away to Australia). But there has been discussions to introduce power steering (which is in F1) to make it easier for smaller drivers and ladies to drive, so in comparison, replaceable grips on the steering wheel is a small cost point, but will improve safety and driver performance

I use the Fanatec McLaren GT3 V2 wheel in sim racing and feel there are too many buttons on it! Gear up, gear down, turn right, turn left, just like it was meant to be 😎

Suprisingly similar to what's on the wheel of (at least the merc) a GT4 car and seems very simple to use! Didn't expect DRS to operated by a paddle that you have to press for the entire zone rather than a single button press on a the wheel. Might consider changing that on my own controller settings for the F1 games...

Obviously steering wheels are hugely busy these days. With different layouts in DTM, LMP2 and F3, how hard is it in the heat of the moment to intuitively find the right buttons and dials. Do you have all the real steering wheels at home for use with your own simulator?

I remember I saw a video a long time ago about sausage kerbs and the woman who did this video was a racing driver who got seriously hurt because her car hit a sausage kerb and I remember she listed drivers who had had a nasty crash because of a sausage kerb, and I think you were in her list. I can't remember the name of the woman who shot this video, I saw this video many months ago. Was your really big crash because you hit a sausage kerb? Do you think sausage kerbs should be banned from all motor sport?

Well it's a spec series with teams on a tight budget, makes sense to have a spec wheel to keep costs down.

If there is no clutch pedal, because you operate the clutch solely from a steering wheel paddle, can you brake with your left foot?
You have to, there is not enough space to shuffle your feet around in an F3/F2/F1 car. Also, left foot braking is actually pretty common in racing!
