What would make a great episode is a break down of your backpack ... what do you travel with and how much (clothes, footwear, toiletries, medicines, tech etc) ... also how do you manage laundry on the go.
Awesome video again. A recommendation that might work for some people is to forego the laptop altogether and just do everything with a phone. If someone can do that they save a lot of backpack space and weight too. I love the idea of a drop bag in a dangerous place, never thought of that.

So you wear the same shorts or type of shorts day and night. If l leave things in the safe l have a small locked bag they go in first that goes in the safe. So someone can't go in and pilfer a little money thinking l won't notice.
Valuables are relative, we travel as minimalists as well. Nothing we carry with us is worth stealing, honestly in SE Asia- there’s a better chance you will lose or break something than get anything stolen.

I never understood why banking apps were introduced to phones, where if you lose/stolen phone, the data would be available to take. I don’t do safes because they can be reset by the staff. I try to find a hidden spot in the room if I know I’ll be going to pool or beach. I also limit the amount of times I’ll ask for room cleaning. And you’re right Chris the culture is different in SE Asia. It’s the reason why I travel there and not South America, although I would love to visit South America one day but the amount of robbery, thievery I’ve heard about is astounding.

I never use the safety box in hotels. All hotel staff have access to them and can open grab your valuables and close as if they never were there. Good luck trying to prove otherwise, very easily to open. There are tonnes of videos on here showing you exactly how to open a hotel in room safety box, scary to watch how easy.
I don’t need a laptop. I’m just going to roll with iPad mini. I’m not bringing any necklaces no watches nothing. You definitely have me thinking about traveling with just a backpack. I have a backpack from Brown Buffalo that I really like a lot. It will keep me a little bit more restricted in size compared to the backpack you have. But I really don’t see a problem with that. My initial plan was to roll with a 20 inch hard case roller bag. And the backpack which fits over the handle on the roller bag. But now since I saw your videos, I think I’m just going to roll with the backpack. And a Scott e vest. They make a Scotty vest that has removable sleeves that attached to the vest with magnets. It has a bazillion pockets and it will carry a small computer or even down to my iPad iPad mini. It will carry two phones. A sunglass case. AirPods, tons of stuff that will free up a room in my bag so the bag can be under 7 kg. I have a pair of shoes already that are just like the shoes you recommend but I cannot get by with just those. I have a bad back. I need a pair of solid walking shoes with my Good Feet insoles. I found some beach shoes on Amazon that are very minimalistic. They fit kinda like scuba shoes, but they’re textured on the bottom to protect your feet from shells or any other sharp objects. There’s also a pair of socks that have actual toes in them that are cut resistant some kind of real tough material for actually like walking, barefoot. I can’t go a long time walking barefoot because I need those arch supports. Sad to say. But hopefully I’ll be able to transition away from the arch supports a little more now that I’m retired. I always had them in my work boots. Your videos are a fountain of great information. Keep up the good work! Hopefully I’ll run into you either this winter or next winter. Somewhere in the world. If you look for a cross shoulder bag, look at a company called chrome and a bag called tinsel. They have a couple different sizes great bags very good quality!
