I have seen all of your videos. And I can definitely come to the conclusion, I am very impressed with the Trailhawk for its capabilities. This vehicle has exceeded my expectations.
We feel the same way. I remember looking at its stats before we bought it and I was thinking why don't more folks use this for off road purposes. I figured it was worth the try!

B-Rad did really well. He was puckered on one obstacle and put a lot of faith in us. Our other ORV is an FJ Cruiser. We are familiar with teetering and being on three wheels. It was the only way I saw to get him down without making contact with the rear plastics again. The Trailhawk with a HEMI is a bad little machine with Brad on the wheel. I will never forget Fiona's reaction the first time I had one rear wheel 3 feet in the air. X-Rated. Now she gives direction...
Every once in a while YT gets it right and puts great channel in my feed - this was one of those times. I have only watched your last three episodes, but now I'll be doing some binge watching. The kids also add a little extra humor and entertainment. lol Keep up the great work.
Just a head’s up from a former WK owner who took his 2008 Grand Cherokee on many Moab and Colorado trails - your bushings will take a beating (they don’t like the extreme articulation). I had to replace all of my front suspension bushings every 30k miles. Since you also have IRS, you’ll probably need to replace all the rear bushings at that interval. It gets old and expensive after a while.
These 2 videos were awesome. Can't give you props enough for the things you do with it, you have way more guts than me. The drone shots were great and the edits especially in the last video when you started the waterfall section.
Thank you. I can’t really take much of the credit for the camera work. My kids and wife do most of it while I drive. Then I take everything and edit it. Thanks for subscribing. I’ll let the family know you like the camera work!
@@ProdigalOverland It sure is a fun trail. We were hoping to get back out there this year and compare what its like with 37” ires and 2 1/2” lift. We really have enjoyed every trail we’ve done around Moab. Some we do every year and then try new ones every year too.
I have armour on mine and was rear ended by an F150 his truck was heavily damaged to a point he couldn't drive it. my armour held up severely damaged but no damage to jeep.
Enjoyed the video. Glad you have all that protection underneath. I don't think my Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk will ever see that trail. It is very impressive to see what your Jeep can do. Glad the gas smell was not a problem. Be safe!!
The change in altitude can cause the vehicle to run rich or lean depending on what the sensor reads. Yes its fuel injected but the sensor still has to adjust timing to compensate for altitude which usually causes a rich burn. It very well could have been running rich causing the strong fuel smell from exhaust. Any other fuel odor under the hood would be through your intake manifold and around the tank area could be your overflow on the gas tank or the charcoal filter from the extreme grades.
i really need to reassess whether i really need a JL for the stuff i do. seems like this grand with a minor lift and nice tires did juuust fine considering.
@Tyler 5017 totally agree with you. As I only go off-roading in Greece and Italy from April to October, I do not encounter snow. But, yes, plenty of rocks, some sand and rarely mud; climatic and geographical conditions are very similar to those of the U.S. SouthWest. Hence, I can attest to my JGC Overland Trail Rated capabilities in those circumstances...and they are awesome! Happy trails to you.
I take off traction control off , snow mode is useless, I want all wheels to spin not 50 percent of them in snow/ice, I guess except for highway speeds.
I am very impressed with what you can do with the Grand Cherokee. I think I see one in my future. So much so I put a hold deposit down on a Trailhawk set to arrive in a couple days.
Thank goodness everything is all good with the Grand Cherokee!! What a challenge! Looked like a long and stressful trail but seemed like it was worth it

The gas you’re smelling at the end of the video is from shaking things up on the trail. The gas vent tube is at the rear wheel behind the liner.
Glad to see you made it all the way through. Tough break on the damage. Looking to do some upgrades on my '14 JGC Overland soon. What do you think first? Rock rails or front bumper?
Same with the Cherokee. Great grocery getter, kid hauler, good in the snow, but still a capable light off-roader - much more so than any of its direct competitors. I’ll take the Cherokee over a CRV or RAV4 any day. The Cherokee is actually fun!
Can you tell me what headlights you have? Are they aftermarket? My WK2 headlights are so dim. Also. What front and rear bumper protection do you have? Thanks for any and all help! I just got my vehicle and love your channel. Actually traded in a Wrangler for mine. 😂🤷🏽♀️
Fun to watch. I have a similar '18 TH so it's fun to see what's possible, but not sure I have the nerve to do this trail. BTW, the DRLs are a menu item. You can turn them off to eliminate the annoying flickering in the video.
Was in moab this weekend and almost flipped my cherokee kl. I wish i had the video but i put it on one wheel. A guy flipped his green utv next to me. The funny thing is, we were only on fins and things. Nothing compared to what your doing. Great driving and video.
Taken my wk2 to moab a number of times. Hells, elephant hill, fins, tower arch. No problem, but does make the trails more challenging compared to a wrangler. Less articulation, less ground clearance, less tire. In my wrangler poison spyder loop is a bit of a snoozer.
Hi from Greece, Brad! No such luck (or should I say something else?) here as our trails do not resemble the least the trails in the States...and certainly nothing like this one! Glad you made it through with only minor damage and that the gas smell went away on its own. Congratulations on a very tough Poison Spider Trail conquering! Awesome video. I look forward to seeing you later in November; I don't think I can make it for the 6th. Good luck with that and have fun.
Nice job mate but I’m interested as to how you avoided damage towards the end there when you nosed into the rock. No way forward without some track building but nothing in the footage to show that.
Hey man. I've got a question. I need to replace the Wrangler All Terrain Adventure tires and I like them alot but i couldn't find them here in Saudi Arabia and that size is almost not heard of. The only size available is 265/65 18R which is higher than the stock ones. Do you run this size? Any rubbing? If not what size are you running?
That is the same size we have. Fits well, no rubbing on road. But have had some rubbing when we are off roading. Is still do it again. Happy with the size.
I’m also running 265/65r18’s (Nitto Ridge Grappler) and appreciate the extra clearance. No rubbing that I’ve found (16k miles on them). Speedo is off by 2 MPH @ 70 since I haven’t bought AlfaOBD and corrected it yet.
Do you think it would be possible to add an after market lift kit along side the air suspension? I just bought a Grand Cherokee trail hawk and I'm curious what modifications can be made to it
@@stephendowd8161 Check out some of the forums for more info on that, but the gist of it is that the CV angles will be too sharp if you go much higher than it comes stock.
@@funkywk2 true but if you are only running in OR2 when needed the CVs aren't getting beaten up all the time. There is a guy on Jeep Garage that used a spacer lift to get appx 2" of extra lift in all modes, and uses OR1 with less of the topping out problem associated with OR2.
To be fair... In stock form, the breakover is WAY better on the Grand Cherokee compared to the stock gladiator. That said , I think people own a stock Gladiator for about a month maybe and it goes to the mod shop and it's not stock anymore...
Your advice re. what to do when tipping sideways is problematic. Turning the wheels in the direction of the decline is certainly correct but hitting the brakes is actually the thing that can cause you to roll over. I most cases you should actually drive towards the direction your tipping to. The best way to understand this instinctively is remember what you do when you're just walking by foot and hit a very steep descent, in most cases you instinctively feel it's better to just run down than try to carefully walk down and it's more or less the same in this case.
Yep. I should have clarified this. I do in a different video. For sure if you have a decent amount of momentum slamming on the brakes is a bad idea. However if you are in control, gently applying brakes and reversing can work. I have utilized this technique several times. Control and momentum dictate which is better. Thanks for bringing this up!
Do you think there is a big difference the quadralift suspension articulation and the OEM coil suspension on the WK2? I've been out off-roading with several WK2 with the Coil Suspension and haven't seen more articulation on their rigs. I'm genuinely curious to know if there is any significant difference.
