- Join us as we go off road and hit the trails with 5 other rigs! In this video we tackle Fins and Things with 5 other full time traveling families. Everyone with us on the trail is driving a different vehicle with most of the Jeep Family represented. We also have a Toyota Tundra joining our Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk off road.
We get to see how different vehicles handle Fins and Things in Moab. Come along for the ride!

Don’t let boring comments get to you. You guys are doing what you love and how you want to do it! Keep it up
Thanks for the encouragement!
a tip: watch movies on Kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Axl Brayan yea, I have been watching on KaldroStream for since november myself :D
@Axl Brayan Definitely, I've been using kaldroStream for since november myself =)
@Axl Brayan yup, have been using kaldroStream for since december myself :)
Ha! James didn't tell me about those scrapes on the Tundra ;) He had fun! Thanks guys!
You’re welcome! We were glad he came out!
I got my Chief rock rails installed. I never looked at their installation instructions, your video was all I needed. We're looking forward to Arizona this winter and some newbie off roading.
I glad the rock rail video helped! Arizona will be fun!
Moab is fun in the wk2. I need to get out there this winter and shoot some video. Thanks for takin' us along.
Sure thing. I also wanted to thank you for your transfer case fluid change video. I changed both differentials and the transfer case this past weekend. Your video helped! Thanks
@@ProdigalOverland Heck yeah, glad it helped out. I love how to youtube videos... saves big money. Any info i can pass on is giving it back.
Really like your channel, Brad. You're very informative, humble (NOT a "hot dog") on the trail, and are always trying to stay safe. I like that you explain everything quite thoroughly. I find it very helpful to see/hear your comparisons among other WK2s and also comparisons to other makes/models. Great job!
Thanks for watching!
Love how easy the wk2 walked up that wall!
😁👍🏻👊🏼 It sure did!
This was so AWESOME to watch
Thank you. Hope you’re doing well!
I'm so addicted
Awesome video and I can't wait till I get to go out there. Not sure how much I will do but love watching all these different people go with you. You really are a great person and the type of people that you want to be around. Stay safe out there
really nice!! and your intros for your videos are getting better and better! love the choice of music! :)
Thank you!
Couldn’t agree with you more, I dont have lockers or limited slip diffs but I still enjoy the challenge. the wranglers and gladiators who think its easy, great they sank a ton more money than I ever could into a Jeep, I’d hope they wouldn’t get stuck or I would question why they put so much money towards one. Just my two cents, glad to hear you guys are doing well! Stay safe
you can have fun with a lot or a little! thanks for watching.
Enjoyed the video a lot. I honestly dig seeing al types of builds on the trails even down to the stockers. Best way to know what you actually need and actually don’t is to get out there and wheel.
I couldn’t agree more! Thanks for watching!
Good set of all terrains is all you need on fins.
Cool video! I took my bone stock 98 XJ on that trail, both the south and north sections and had a blast. There were a couple of ground contacts here and there, but we had a ton of fun on that trail. Definitely, it's easier to run with lower tire pressure.
Thats awesome! It is a fun trail! Love those XJ's
Glad I found your channel! I have a ‘19 Trailhawk with a gobi stealth and some other fun stuff. Been really impressed with the dumb things I’ve been able to do in that truck. Will have to check out your other videos. Be safe out there!
Glad you found us as well. Check out our other stuff and stay tuned for more. There are some good ones coming!
Great video. Used to do fins and things many years ago. I need to get the 4 runner out there. That is a fun trail.
It sure is a fun one!
I was wondering until the end if this was old footage just to keep us stoked for November. Looking forward to it. Waiting for some coordinates to plan our boondock. See ya soon. I agree with your logic. The tricked out Wranglers need to find another pasture to play in if they want a challenge. And Moab will deliver.
All new footage! We are in the process of doing different trails to be up on what will work for the Moab trip in November. We will stop out sites as well. right now we are about 30 miles north of Moab. But hope to be a bit closer that weekend. Looking forward to it.
Yea I like that little Cherokee man. I almost bought one with 100k miles 2 years ago. Perfect condition too.
Yes. It was a lot of fun to see out there!
Looking forward to Hell's Revenge this weekend. Great video!
Me too!
airing down make a huge differance XJ was little to full on air.
Ya, I'm not sure what pressure he was at.
Cherokee driver: "Lockers? Nah. Skinny pedal? YUP!" FTW!!
Lol!

GC is hella capable and also adds a lot of creature comforts youd want on a daily driver opposed to a wrangler. That is why i chose the GC over the wrangler. I commute almost 40 miles a day to work
Yes. It does both on road and off road well!
@@ProdigalOverland yep. Planning to put the biggest lift I can on it next week, add a steel front and rear bumper, put on some 33" KO2s with 17"/18" wheels, rock rails and see what it can do
Your videos are interesting. I like seeing what a GC can do or not.
Several unanswered questions: Are you in Lo range all the time? What 4x4 mode is it in? (I assume 'rock' for this, but do you think the mode selector makes any real difference? I'd like to see you tackle a semi-difficult section in all modes for comparison.)
Do the off-road pages in the Uconnect system help at all? Do you use them?
You mention the open diffs on the old Cherokee, but of course your TH has an open front diff as well. Do you ever wish for an LSD front diff? Also, what is the tire pressure set at? Also, I see you removed the front valance. Is it permanently removed?
Thanks for the questions!
I usually only go into 4 low once things start to slip. Or there is a big climb.
The mode selector does make a difference. We recently tested this on sand dunes. Look for that video. We would like to try it on different terrains in future videos
The off road pages are a nice feature but I don’t feel like they are a must have feature.
And yes the front of the Trailhawk is open but it has the active braking system that can redirect power. I don’t feel we are limited by that system.
yes we just got rid of the front valance. I didn’t want to have to mess with putting it on and off. On the trails our tire pressure range if from 18-25 depending on terrain and how much ground clearance we need.
@@ProdigalOverland Interesting. Thanks for answering . Have fun!
Looking at a Grand Cherokee overland and a GX460...
Anyone have any suggestions on which one is better to Access off-road and trails.
( Im looking for a V8 and keeping it stock so out of the box off-road capabilities are much appreciated
Hey Brad. Great video. I have a 2020 GC trailhawk. Curious if front, rear and sump armor came into play on this trip? Rock Rails look like a definate. We've still got this vehicle stock for the time being. Keep the videos coming and stay safe.
You wouldn’t need the sump armor if you took off the lower front fascia you would be good. Rails would help for sure. But with a good spotter you could do it stock.
@@ProdigalOverland Any thought on the front and rear armor? We are definitely planning the Chief Product products. Just getting the coin together. Thanks again.
Ddawg I think front and rear armor are a great thing. You will drag your tailpipe on part of this trail. But if you go slow it won’t damage it. If you take of that lower front fascia you will be fine in this trail. If you plan on doing other more difficult trails in the area. Like hells revenge. Then yes you would need both. Good luck!
@@ahdepdawg Trailhawk i have in Russia 3,6 ,very durable reliable suv!!!
Nice footage Brad! Wonder where can i buy that ladder on the back?
Our ladder is a Gobi rack ladder.
@@ProdigalOverland Did you have to upgrade the strut on the lift gate to support the added weight? I met a guy on trail that had the same one on his WK2 and he mentioned the need.
@@vertstang123 no, we haven't had any issues with it.
Hi, Brad! As usual a great video with valuable commentary. I am writing this from Thessaloniki, Greece. I am coming to the States on Nov.1st and taking delivery of a 2020 JGC Trailhawk that week. I'd very much like to participate in the November Moab adventure, but I doubt I have the time to do any (simple but basic necessary) mods to it. Do you think as it is, completely stock, may do the job? Thanks.
P.S. Here in Greece I have a (stock!) 2014 JGC Overland Trail Rated, that has taken me to some serious trails with no problems. Obviously our trails here and in Italy are no match to the ones on your side of the pond! ;-)
Any thoughts? BTW, what are the dates in November and where exactly is the gathering spot/place? I'll be coming from Atlanta, GA. Tks
Hey Evan, Thanks for reaching out! My wife said to tell you she is part greek! Did you happen to get the mopar rock rails on it? The trip is on our website. under the events link but the dates are Nov 6-8. Its about 1700 miles from Atlanta to Moab.
If you can't make that weekend we might be able to work something out. As far as difficulty we can work around stuff. I actually don't know what trails we are going to do that weekend yet. We are doing several in the area to see which would be best. Why don't you send us an email ( contact@prodigaloverland.com ) and we can try to work something out. Thanks for reaching out!
Prodigal Overland hey, Brad! Say "Geia sou" to her ( it literally means "your health", but we use it for greetings such as hello and good-bye!). Thank you immensely for your reply. I am sending you an email and for sure we'll work something out. I may, even, be able to persuade my daughter to come along. I look forward to seeing you all there. And, yes, I ordered the Mopar rails. The only thing that was ordered from the factory.
@@MrKozanitis If you have the mopar rails you should be fine. Hope it works out!
Prodigal Overland @Brad, I think I have them. I ordered it back in March and, truly, I can't remember. I'll know when I get back; I'll get in touch with you via email then. Be safe.
Evan Hassiotis sounds good
The right wheels wouldve made a world of difference for the white cherokee.
They were completely stock everything. They had no idea what they had gotten themselves into. But they made it out ok.
@@ProdigalOverland yeah it was nice of you to stop and walk them through it. They could've gotten hurt or even worse damaged their jgc!!!
How did 4 people “thumbs down” this video!? What is wrong with people 🧐
I know! Thats what I'm saying
Cool vid but music was a bit loud brad.
I’ll make sure I turn it down a bit next time👍🏻
