Cool Man, I grew up in Murbah, went through the 74 floods, our chooks drowned and we set the phone up on a surfboard til we finally had to move next door. We watched the levy break, what a roaring sound that made, cheers, Keep up the local reports...thanks
i too grew up in Mur-bah; remmebering many floods... I love the little comments and questions of the child; liked being in on the family comments etc. Great view....thanks
Ah, the year the levy broke, '74. Before my time but every time we had a flood I remember the older folk talking about '74. And below I se a comment from someone about '74! Seeing floods like this, playing in them (dangerous, I know) and having photo's in the family album of flooded streets is all part of growing up in Mur'bah and on the Tweed.
I went to Mt St Pats High 1973...born in Murbah hospital...lived there twice.....I lived there again from 2006 to 2008...trying to think when I lived there first...I was there when there was a flood so must have been around 1974
My family lives in mur'bah, one lot got stuck both ways they live out dallis park way but others were ok, I heard about the bull surving up tweed river and cow dead in tree at golf course. Can't belive that road beside mum's old school was flooded too. My aunt use t live in river st so glad she move to higher ground.
I loved Topless waitresses on a tuesday daytime...in the bar by the bridge in Murwillumbah.... Had a crazy ass day there once... Cant believe its flooded like this.... mental.

you don't recall the flood of 1842? Tip of Mt Warning not even visible! Young people today think that was a flood in '54! Ha!
