Ken,: I have been a KTVA student for a little over 2 years. I front a band and have had many voice teachers over the years, who just wasted my time and had me doing stupid exercises that had little relevance to actual application.. During this quarantine when our band can't be out performing, I have been going back over all of lessons and each time (re-watching all of the DVD's), I still glean new insights that--despite consistent practice-- refine my singing ability even more. I am looking forward to your next course on voice repair, even though, since being KTVA student, I have not had any problem with hoarseness due to poor vocal technique. Just want to say, YOU ROCK (and so do your shirts :-) THANK YOU.
Many vocal coaches just talk about theory, they don't demonstrate real singing, also most of them are mediocre singers. Ken is an incredible singer and great vocal coach. The proof is in the singing!
Following all the TH-cam videos. Thanks Ken. Sorry, can't afford your wonderful course. Wonderful teaching videos. Very generous in sharing some of your tips.
Go MESSA de VOCE!!. The Messa de voce technique is the IDEAL way to train the voice. Brilliant stuff. You may have had many singing teachers as you said on the way to developing your method but it seems the Bel Canto stuff really stuck. Original methods used over hundreds of years is unbeatable.
Thank You Ken for all the insights. My Teacher would always say, there is so much Bad in the World because the bad ones go out and advertise so much and the good ones are complacent, not wanting to expand. Thank You for being so counter-intuitive to this. The Good have to make sound and not the bad, for the Good to Prevail. Thanks for reiterating everytime and helping us filter all the wrong stuff 👍👍👍. Please stay Safe. Wish you Peace and Happiness from India 💐💐💐
If the higher up we go, the less air is required to hold the note, then that would mean that the lower we go, the more air is required to hold the note, right? I've been struggling a lot more with lower notes compared to higher notes, and maybe this is why? How would you go about using more air on lower notes if you struggle to do so?
@@kentamplin I'm already on it. The help I get is sometimes helpful, other times kind of confusing lol. Like one person's answer to one of my questions is I should just pay attention to what you're doing and do what you do. Pretty obvious haha
@@kentamplin In general they're guiding me in the right direction but it's hard to get straight-forward answers a lot of the times. That's why I was hoping you could help me out a little, cuz I know your knowledge is more precise so you'd be able to give me simpler answers you know?
Awesome tips Ken I try to hold out long notes for a period of time but run out of breath if people have the right voice control it would be easier to hold out but I can hold em out a little bit but yea great tips Ken 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I wish I made enough money a month to afford your vocal course, Ken. If only I could do it with monthly payments I definitely would! Thank you for your knowledge!
Hi Ken, I have been practicing the Volume 2 Diva Piano videos for a couple months now and I think I am understanding my diaphragm better as I feel a pushing in my side/back in the area of my bra strap and you mention in one of the videos about the back muscle. I also have the sensation that my throat/back of mouth becomes like a cathedral ceiling and sound gets bigger which is really exciting and it feels good. Not difficult or anything. But using the diaphragm for me has not been "easy" per se. And if I try to sing too high my throat gets really tired and then I suck at it until I rest. Actually, after doing the exercises I can't sing very well because my throat is tired. But then the next day - wow! Can I sing! My family can really tell a difference. I need to record something for the forum to hear.
I hit the green 385 yards on a par 4 at the golf.. I scored 3 goals from the halfway line playing football.. I hit a baseball rite out the stadium into the city.. I rasstled with a crocogator for 15 minutes under water and it drowned.. I sang the 5 part harmony to hotel calafornia without breathing. . . Then I woke up and realised KEN was talking in my headphones! 😃 lol. Tell you something though, those long notes Ken does.. that is world class singing and the best singing information is coming from Ken Tamplin. ☺
very intersting this examples with golfing i have one with kickcing the ball in rugby that my father showed me.. the "non volume" long notes sound very loud, a bit like in a closeup film scene where the actor seems to shout but in reality he is using the technique of loudness management..
@@kentamplin You deserve it/ after so many years of singing couldn't find someone to really help me to really get to sing a high B and hold it .I fill that your exercises really help. Thank you. Wow Ken, I have never heard of the snap but as soon as you described it a big light bulb went off in my head. I couldn't figure out why I was struggling to hit notes certain at times. Also the forklift and crane analogy was super helpful. Thanks Ken you rock!!!!
