    Good thing they finally fixed the dynamic range and skintones! We all know Arri's DR and skintones were only the *best looking of any cameras on the planet* before. Sarcasm aside, I can't believe they've finetuned their sensors even further!

    The dynamic range and latitude on this is crazy. I can't wait to see some raw and graded footage. Low light should be amazing.
    Arri still have my fav sensors, so I'm soooo looking forward to this

    If only they made smaller cameras for single-handled gimbals for the more common folks. One can hope!

    Is the readout speed at full sensor...24fps.. 180 degree shutter.. as good as the 3.2ms of the Amira..? (Arri's best) and the answer can't be "it's so good we don't have to release that data" per Arri's usual.. 😉

    When I picked up my first commercial rental 35mm 2C in 1984, the rental house told me it's pronounced "AIR-E" not "R-E". If you listen to Gunter in this interview he pronounces it "AIR-E", as do the vast majority of German and international ARRI employees including Sean Dooley, David Levy, and Marc Shipman-Mueller seen in other recent ARRI videos. "R-E" seems the providence of TH-cam hipsters, not the people who actually work there.
    This is as grating as hearing someone pronounce "FUR-NEL" as "FREZ-NEL".

    • @fto3367
      @fto3367 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lol. As a german native speaker I can tell you that every German calls it "R-E". And there is absolutely no debate or questioning about how it is pronounced amongst german speakers whatsoever. All the german ARRI employees call it "R-E" when they speak german. Sometimes when they speak english they purposefully adopt the false pronunciation to make it sound english or to respect the customer. The american employees obviously aren't a relevant reference. The exact same thing happens with many German companies in the USA. ZEISS & Porsche come to mind. I wonder whether that's a marketing/PR mandate.

      Thanks for your clarification... It's not just German companies, the "correct" pronunciation of "Adidas" is virtually unknown and unused in English speaking countries. It's fully understandable that certain names are differently pronounced in native tongue: As example, the very American "Chevrolet" has some very interesting spins on it nation to nation.
      I pose that Arri is rather unique among German brands, in that a certain pool of English speakers have the "Americanized" version of the name, and a certain pool of non-native customers "affects" a more World Citizen take on it. But their World Citizen take is limited and rather specific... I seriously doubt the English "R-E" crowd goes so far as to use the German-correct Zeiss or Porsche pronunciation as you mentioned, or has even been exposed to it.
      Perhaps a memo should be circulated amongst all individuals of all nationalities under Arri employ to go forward strictly with "R-E" in all presentations and videos, and gently correct visitors at tradeshows and over beers. This would help clear up decades after decades of Americanized confusion... :)

      No problem. Chevrolet is actually Swiss (Romande)
      Hence the french pronunciation ;)

    • @highks496
      @highks496 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@imagesh1 It should even be "R-E" in the Americanized pronunciation because the company name is short for "Arnold & Richter" and how would you pronounce the AR and the RE in that? That's right, "R - E"

    • @imagesh1
      @imagesh1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@highks496 When 4 out of 5 Arri employees pronounce it "correctly" in public presentations and videos, I'll join in! Cheers!
