- Great Lakes Funny Car Nationals - Quaker City Motorsports Park - Salem, OH 5_24_2015. Some class racing, some Gassers, and a lot of Nostalgia Funny Cars from the 70's and 80's. Hadn't been to this track in 40+ years, even though only an hour away. ...A good time.

Quaker City has some of the best cars and fans from near and far away..
Quaker City is where I cut my teeth on drag racing, my uncle had a body shop in Warren, Ohio (Richard Tabor) and he had a Plymouth Fury that he ran. I had been there several times for AHRA and NHRA events during the Cha Cha Muldowney, Don Garlits, (The Snake) and (The Mongoose) era. Moved to Florida and seen plenty of Friday nights at Gainesville Raceway running Super Pro.
Nostalgia cars in gassers are my favorite this dragstrip looks like it had it all
I was there and I can't wait till next year it was a great day at Quaker City. Only one complaint try to keep the porta potties more clean they were nasty.

..About an hour east of Cleveland and maybe 15-20 min. south of the Lordstown Chevy plant. Same event is coming up in about a week (end of May 2016).
keystone raceway is having their event this weekend can hardly wait!

That's you're right. I'm not the kind of guy that sits like a lump in the grandstands for hours on end. Action is in the pits and staging lanes. Can't wait to see your videos.
