No, EVERYONE does not know what's going on and "political leaders" aka "power grabbers" on both sides are shouting drivel. The mainstream media either parrots or overreacts to propagandized minutia to encourage this chaos rather than providing the ONE deliverable they are given the responsibility for in the Constitution - enlightening the American people. Explain the political and historical REASON Senator Cruz said what he did rather than simply showing a reaction from the other side of the aisle. Media, you espouse need for an informed electorate then INFORM THEM with the facts. Point: If a politician states an assertion as fact, present the written source of said fact at once on air which supports or negates it. By the way, "nuance" is a copout.

    • @drivewithbishop4426
      @drivewithbishop4426 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Because it’ll allow anyone illegally in our country to vote. Just like with E-verify, voters should be screened as to not dilute the true vote count and disenfranchise voters as a whole. It’s really quite simple. Democrats are pulling the same stunts that China and Venezuela did.

    • @zachshine6170
      @zachshine6170 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      It disenfranchises the corporate donors who rely on low voter turnout to keep the status quo. The person above me stated things that are unequivocally false, as stated by multiple sources. Conservatives know the only way they can win is be restricting votes, thus by expanding voting rights they feel disenfranchised.

    • @zachshine6170
      @zachshine6170 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@drivewithbishop4426 I fail to see how China or Venezuala opened up voting and had a healthy democracy? You fall into the fear mongering that conservatives want. And whos the sheep? Wake up. If expanding voter rights makes you feel uncomfortable. You have a lot of reflection to do my friend. If you love america so much and hide behind the American flag as so many conservatives do, why are you against one of the fundamental ideals of the American Republic. Seriously, you can't turn everything into socialist fear mongering, especially when it makes zero sense. You think the communist party in China is eager to expand voting rights to the Uighur minority they are committing genocide on? Get a grip. I think Amy Klobuchar hit the nail on the head when she said that politicians should pick their platform based on their voters, not pick their voters based off of their platform. I find it funny that the only reason you're scared of this is that more minorities will vote. You literally just said as much. Its a very sad time for American democracy when people feel so entitled to their voting power. They will trample over anyone else to keep it

      Is that actually worse than front door gerrymandering? I mean, gerrymandering in general is despicable. We in Michigan got sick of it and passed a constitutional amendment to put the drawing of lines in the hands of citizens, so I do have a platform to criticize the practice, whether it's the state legislatures doing it or the federal government. Neither is actually reflective of the will of the people, and your implication is that the current corrupt system is any better than what the democrats propose. It's not.

      The two sides of the aisle are not the same. Democrats are good faith actors for the most part and Republicans are doing this song and dance because all they care about is power and control and winning and money. It’s just a game for them. Democrats don’t see it that way.
      Please try not to make grand generalizations. Democrats are going to pass voting rights acts in someway shape or form that restore some of the democracy lost by the introduction to these Republican-introduced bills and unconstitutional voting rights laws that need to be exposed for the right wing un-American propaganda that they are.

      Yes, the votes of LEGAL American Citizens, should be protected...this bill introduced by the democrats incourages illegal immigrants to vote with NO recourse, it actually will automatically register anyone in a government system to vote, including illegal immigrants, send out ballots to illegal immigrants, diminishing the vote of legal citizens, and don't take my word for it read the bill yourself, and to top it off the democrats now want to give rights to felons to be able to vote...so in other words, if you commit a crime there are no consequences...seriously...there are so many things in this bill that incourages criminal voting and rewards criminals with giving the right to vote...it also wants to get rid of having to show identification and proof of Residency, so in other words, cheaters could send in thier mail in ballot where there are registered, and then drive state to state and cast more votes, illegally voting and throwing off those states votes...I don't know how that equates to voter integrity...this is like the laws they have implemented in the Communist state of california, where there is absolutely NO voter integrity, where the democrats have set up laws to cheat and rig the election, where illegal aliens voting is rampant...pure and utter communism
