Digital is a waste of time on console, unless a game is on sale or the price is a disposable amount of money I prefer to pick up a physical copy, the gamepass model makes more sense to me in a digital space, if we could apply something similar to every digital game where we can rent for a period of time instead then I would probably dump more money into the eshop but as the pricing model is right now I'm always going to be turned away.
As for the price of physical games, I can somewhat rationalise it, I don't mind paying extra for carts on Switch but the recent price hike on zelda tears of the kingdom seems unwarranted to me, Nintendo are essentially making slightly better looking 7th gen titles, it doesn't cost them the same amount as it does 8th or 9th gen consoles to produce games so the price shouldn't be the same in my opinion, Sony where definitely greedy with their price hikes this generation but Nintendo will always be the king of greed, it's to the point now where there isn't even a select range where the prices are significantly lowered later on down the line like there was on previous Nintendo consoles, that's inexcusable considering how a lot of the games still right up there selling for full retail like they where new games are nothing more than decade old wii u ports at this point.

Bruh how dare you have an opinion 😂 nah but this has been my issue with Nintendo for the past couple years already and I've been asking myself this same question for a few weeks already, why can't games on the eShop be cheaper than in the store? Shit at least $10 less than retail. For example DK Tropical Freeze & Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is still $49.99! It's insane
