I mean, this is the region where the one guy brought a Darkrai and a Latios(Latias?) to the Pokémon league, so maybe catching legendaries isn't as unusual here.
If you do this again, I'd suggest explaining maybe some of your initial thoughts and subsequent failed attempts instead of just the wins, and maybe if any random trainers/rivals would be a doozy thinking to add them. Seeing 50+ failed attempts for definitely be boring be seeing an interesting and insightful fail is cool. That and an attempt counter.
I think part of what makes Cynthia such an infamous and likeable character is that her team is perfectly built to be engaging, no matter the challenge.
EtU entering the Unknown of self-punishment again. The end is surprisingly satisfying. "Yes, it's technically possible but I did not do it." is surprisingly satisfying due to sounding sane.
"Now, time for a Gym puzzle that I really hope they change for the Sinnoh remakes" Instantly thinks back to the trailer released the other day featuring Candice and Volkner's gyms and they look exactly the same. Woof...
And I didn't know until I replayed Diamond recently that the ice puzzle layout in D/P is actually DIFFERENT from the one in Platinum. The snowballs and patches are placed differently, and I think also the Trainers. In Platinum, you can actually skip all the Trainers in the Ice Gym if you do the puzzle right, but you can't skip all the Trainers in D/P. D/P and Platinum both have their own difficulties, with Platinum having better movesets and Pokémon on the opponents, and D/P having fewer good Pokémon to choose from for yourself. Not to mention that Ponyta is your only option for Fire if you don't choose Chimchar, and it doesn't even learn Flame Wheel through level up in D/P, but only through breeding. And, of course, in D/P the League members are of higher levels than in Platinum, Cynthia's Garchomp being level 66 in D/P instead of 62 like in Platinum, so that's also something to consider. Not sure if D/P are easier or harder than Platinum, or if they are on equal footing when it comes to difficulty.
@@_WiZ420 Well, I am currently doing a Nuzlocke in both Platinum and Pearl, so I can compare difficulty. So far, in Platinum, I have lost 2 Pokémon, both to an Ace Trainer's Haunter in the Ghost Gym, and I am currently preparing to face my Rival in Pastoria City. Meanwhile in Pearl, I have no deaths yet, and I am in Solaceon Town, on my way to Veilstone City. In Pearl, I even got ambushed by my rival in Hearthome City in the crossroads coz I forgot he challenges you in a different spot than in Platinum, and I only had my Grotle on the team atm, the rest being weak friendship Pokémon that I wanted to grind up for evolutions (for drawing them), as well as my newly hatched Happiny, holding an Oval Stone I traded over from Platinum (coz I caught a Chansey so the stone was useless there). I ended up managing to clutch the battle with just my level 22 Grotle, taking out my rival's level 19 Starly, level 21 Monferno (even tanking a Flame Wheel pretty well), level 20 Buizel and level 20 Roselia, all while I played Ace Attorney Pursuit themes in the background coz I was certain I would wipe there. Even though I spammed healing items, I still thought I would lose because of my type disadvantage. How wrong I was! Infernape is my favorite Starter (and my first, actually), but I gained a lot more respect for Grotle because of that battle. My Grotle's name is Tellus, which is the Latin name for the Earth (or at least Earth in some language), and I think he lived up to his name here very well!
@@Rubywing4 Good Grotle name, my only question about all of this is are you using the same teams? At first glance I would say that Platinum is harder in this case, but the team consistency really makes the difference there, as different parts of the game can be more challenging than others (Say, if you had picked Chimchar and not caught a grass-type yet, you would be in more trouble vs Wake compared to using Turtwig, and basically the opposite with the Ice leader, ignoring the other mons you could use like lucario).
@@_WiZ420 Oh yeah, I mostly use the same teams, but I do also replace less useful members with more useful ones. In Platinum, I use a Monferno, Drifblim, Bronzong, Luxray, Shiny Gastrodon, and then a Tangrowth/Skorupi/Scyther/other, still trying to figure out what 6th team member I want. I want to use Drapion, but as it first evolves at level 40, I will have to wait a bit, so I might use Tangrowth until then. I used to have a Roselia named Florentino (inspired by many of the randomized Trainer names I've seen in randomizers on TH-cam videos) which I caught as a Budew north of Jubilife City and evolved by the time I had reached Eterna City, and I really liked him. But he was one of the two Pokémon I lost to the Haunter in the Ghost Gym, due to Mean Look, Curse and Shadow Ball, and only having Giga Drain to attack with, and got the Sp. Def drop. I switched into him because he had the highest Sp. Def of my team (Monferno, Roselia, Bronzor, Kricketune, Luxio and Shiny Shellos), and I was just grinding on the Gym Trainers for my Bronzor, which was lower level than the others. I had forgotten to check the movesets of all the Trainers in the Gym, and underestimated them. And I had to heal my Luxio because he also got confused, so I swapped into my Roselia, and then he got trapped. After I found myself necessitated to sacrifice my Roselia, I swapped back into my Luxio but got confused and hit himself, so I had to swap into my Kricktune, which I also really liked but kept as an HM user and death fodder anyway, in order to heal up my Luxio and get rid of the confusion. She managed to take the first Shadow Ball, but went down to the second because I had to heal Tony Spark (my luxio). After having lost those two Pokémon, my Luxio finally managed to pull himself together and took down the Haunter. As for in Pearl, other than my Grotle, I am using a Staravia, Machop, Ponyta, Golem and Buizel, and I intend to keep this team around as long as they live. Might replace the Golem with something else since I have already used a Golem in another locke (SoulSilver) and I want to use different mons for each run. Not sure what yet though. Maybe Raichu, as I did get a Pichu from the Trophy Garden, but that will have to wait until I reach Pastoria City, so it can relearn some moves once it evolves, as it has no attacking moves atm.
I bet I wouldn't have even if I had used Horn Drill because I would've fallen asleep by the time a Pokemon's health got to zero. (I love Gen IV, but those health bars...sigh.)

Appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos for our entertainment. It's presumably a big task, thank you. My disappointment as I started to watch the video was that I assumed you would be limiting yourself to Pokemon available in the wild at that point in the game. Seeing Moltres vs. Roark rather than an early form bug/flying pokemon took quite a bit of the interest out of things
While watching this amazing challenge, I noticed something, while looking at the gym badges. Sunyshore Citys Beacon Badge design looks a LOT like Meltan and Melmetal. While the mythical Pokemon aren't Electric types, they do have a lot of electric type moves on their arsenal, like Thunder Wave, Thunder Punch, etc. Also, it is funny that they do share the Steel typing with Magnezone, which is from the Sinnoh region. Could I have just discovered a connection with Meltan and Melmetal with Sinnoh, could they possibly have something in the upcoming game of Legends: Arceus? What do you think?
It's funny, after watching the sun and moon anime at least 3 times over, I've picked up on little frames where meltan is literally there. I've seriously thought of just no lifing it and screenshotting whenever I saw an homage to the impending reveal, but I probably wouldn't find as much as I'd think tbh. But they did put little easter eggs in for rewatchers to find and that makes me love that season specifically even more.
The connection was great, however, I really hope they don't do the same thing they did in Let's Go and cram Meltan and Melmetal in BDSP/Leyends. I dislike this Pokemon so I'm sorta biased here haha

In any case, another entertaining and uniquely designed Pokémon run with wonderfully woven words such as a defensively compromised Gyarados. I also found it particularly funny how your smooth transitions such as at 5:05 made it look like your Tyrannitar decided to ignore being flinched.
6 days after this was posted, but still have to ask: what is weird about diamond and pearl? Most poketubers always do platinum so i am sure you are right. But i had like, 500 hrs in Diamond but never got into platinum myself. What makes platinum easier for runs?
from what I understand, Diamond and Pearl are just really slow when it comes to walking/running/surfing speed so it feels like a real slog. Also, the Platinum pokedex introduces a lot more pokemon to Sinnoh and it makes getting more pokemon easier than they were in DP. It also makes the game, especially the E4 and Cynthia, more difficult so it's more interesting. I loved playing Diamond and it was my main Sinnoh game, but all in all I do prefer Platinum since it's pretty much what DP should have been.
They were so focused on the question if they could, that they didn't think of the question if they should

Bold of you to name your channel after a song from Frozen 2.
9:04 aged well…
I wonder how this would work if the opponent was a Normal type specialist.
I’m a little disappointed that you didn’t use Heracross against Staraptor
24:43 yeah we’re not doing THAT again
The battle with Cynthia was too good
I can tell this video was made before the previous trailer since they just revealed Candice's Gym is still the same.
Wait, who was the ice type gym leader? i didn't hear your correctly
Can’t remember
Candice
why is the final chapter/segment/whatever it's called of the video just called Gengar instead of Cynthia
it would be Cynthia who creates a 1 in 27,000 challenge
This would a challenge
You could possibly also take Dual types into account, using Gyarados to fight Byron's Magneton, for example.
What about using “not very effective” moves only?
Gosh, Damp must be your most hated ability. I don't think I've used Self-destruct or Explosion intentionally in my life and here you are spamming it. In any case, another entertaining and uniquely designed Pokémon run with wonderfully woven words such as a defensively compromised Gyarados.
I also found it particularly funny how your smooth transitions such as at 5:05 made it look like your Tyrannitar decided to ignore being flinched.
We miss you!
Can do more what if because I want to see what would happen if ash went to Orange islands after win Eight badges
Good. Now do it STAB only, no coverage.
Given most pokemon can solo these games I'd say yes
I still say it should have been Temporal Diamond and Spacial Pearl
Does anyone know when the next video will come out? Or did he like stop posting?
You could have used breloom as quad weak to psychic
