You can save as many goals as you can, people will always remember that one goal you didn't catch
That's also the thing about goalkeeping, no matter what sport it is. For example in football it's 11 in your team but you sometimes feel like 10+1. The goalkeeper is sometimes a lonely existance

nah, true athletes usually think that the sport to which is the polar opposite of there's is the most difficult.. the sport you play is easier for you. A soccer player will watch water polo and think its more difficult then soccer because that is what they are good at.. at least in my opinion.

Fullbacks in football deserve a mention. They need to be exceptional athletes and need to have knowledge of both attacking and defending parts of football.
But it's not as mentally or emotionally taxing as the other positions mentioned, but you're right, it's f*cking difficult, I've played there
As a guy who played left back for celtic I am inclined to agree on this, when you come up against a tricky winger you're up and down the park all day

It happened more than 30 years ago and I still whince thinking about it. I was doubled up in tears after letting a baseball slip through my fingers ... "Teacher: You'd better go up to the nurse and let her take a look at it." I decided I was fine.

I think catcher should be higher up then eight because (as a catcher) you must be fearless to put your body in front of pitch in the dirt it in less than a second and having proper form and also having very quick hand eye coordination

Being a goalie isn't just hard due to the fact that you have to stop difficult shots but also because of the mental part of the position. If any other person makes a mistake they usually get away with it, but if a goalie messes up once, it can be the difference between a won or a lost game. Even if they win they rarely get the credit.

Um if pitchers in baseball or catchers make a mistake it can mean the game the only difference is a pitcher throws 100 pitches a game so they have 100 pitches they can make an error on. So what you block a shot like twice a game.
+Acablec lacrosse goalies face around 30 shots a game that are going around 100 mph, if the defense is playing like shit then the goalie gets the blame for any shot taken too close, catchers and pitchers however can recover from a few hits, unless they are HRs

I am too. Being just a kid and a full time keeper, that is one of my worst fears. But I was told by my keeper coach that if I want to play goalie then I'm going to have to be brave.

I got my head stepped on....it was the last game I played... I don't know how it could have gone worse but metal studs would have probably just exploded my head completely. studs are banned so goalies don't die

Being a goalkeeper or goalie is the hardest position in any sport. If you say it's easy to play, you obviously never has played as one. I'm a goalkeeper myself, not a hockey goalie. You need to be agile, have great reflexes, strength, be fearless of the ball or puck, have stamina, and be able to make split second decisions. You have a projectile going towards you at such high speeds. In football, you may only face 4 shots a game and that's what makes it so hard, always being ready. And when those moments do come, there are hours and hours of training behind it, you need to be perfect in those moments. They are the ones that keep the team in the game and don't always get the credit for it. Forwards have it better because they can miss 30 shots and then score the winning goal and be praised for it, where a goalkeeper or goalie can save 30 shots and let one in and be shamed for that one mistake. Massive respect to all goalies and goalkeepers out there!

I'm a keeper for soccer (football or fütbol) and a catcher when I play baseball. I understand why you said what you said and I totally agree but, I personally don't think catchers get enough credit for blocking wild pitches. They are both very difficult positions and this list really is just a compilation of difficult positions but all in all, I think catching edges out keeper by maybe an inch.

I don't know if I agree so much with the order or if these positions are even in order, but I like all the attention given to various positions. Gotta love how most of these positions were heavily defensive. Basketball Center, Baseball Catcher and Pitcher, Wicket-Keeper, and Goalies as a whole.

I've played almost every sport listed here, except cricket; and hitting a baseball was by far the hardest thing for me to do (personally)

But the adrenaline if you're in the goal in football, when the opponent loses a shot on goal and everything is on you, that feeling is epic, indescribable. That's why I'm a goalkeeper.

I am a water polo kids goalie in my club and yes,every position in this sport is HARD,if you are full skeleton skin,well good job even throwong the ball 1 meters away.If you have low stamina,you can't throw a ball,It's the second hardest sport in the world,so stop laughing about it

hardest sport position is the football's referee (soccer)
he runs up and down chasing the damn ball everywhere and never gets to touch it, he has to dodge the ball and other players.. and sometimes gets kicked and hated on real bad!
And about every other sport that has a referee.
I agree, soccer referees get it hard. But I was just including every other referee as it is pretty hard to make calls especially if it is pretty close that it could go either way. They're a bit like the rugby referee. But enough said.

Hockey refs are a little bit harder. I play sports and refs in soccer are not as technical. Hockey refs do the same shit as football refs going up and down the ice and they have to stop fights, get cussed out at all the time by both teams and crowd all game, call goals (hockey pucks are much harder to locate than soccer balls) and realy have to tell the difference between and honest check or hit, or a penalty. In soccer as soon as somebody falls down they give a red or yellow card. oth are tough though.
***** Yes but hockey is a much tougher sport (not bashing soccer, that's just what it is). In the professional leagues I guarantee you that there would be at least a fight a game. In soccer it's not nearly as much and it's even worse in hockey when a whole entire team get's on the ice and fights when there are only 2-3 refs. Also I forgot to mention that they have to keep up with players that are going 25-35 miles per hour which is stupid fast. Hockey I think anyways is a lot more technical and harder to tell if something was a goal, offside, etc.. Compare a hockey puck to a soccer ball HUGE DIFFERENCE. In hockey the penalties are not as lose as they are in soccer and they have many more penalties than soccer does. The only thing that soccer refs have to do more of is run further.

***** I believe myself that hockey goalie is the hardest with soccer being second. you face 30 shots a game and if you have a save percentage under .825 you are considered awful. you also have to face a puck vs a ball and have to be the best skater on the ice.
I think being a hockey goalkeeper is certainly more demanding on the body but being a goalkeeper in football is extremely hard to master, I mean I've been playing football all my life and I'm at my peak in my mid 20's and I'm not a goalkeeper and if you throw me in the net and I'm useless even compared to some of the worst goalkeepers.
A bad goalkeeper will still be 100 times better than a player who is good in the net. Being a goalkeeper requires incredible flexibility, good judgement, good distribution, decision making, power and command of your area it's got to be almost 2nd nature to you. At professional level incredible saves are expected and the pressure can be insane and a mistake is unforgivable.

lol I play 2 meter set (center) in Water Polo and I'll get triple teamed by three guys trying to drown me and I still stay up. It is a hella hard sport though. Definitely a lot of fun though.

Yeah I agree but if WatchMojo is referring to which player in the court receives more contact, they are right (4 & 5 pos.) but in terms on tactical and strategic points PG has the most important role in the team because he/she must have a great IQ on the court defensively and offensively. I feel the center is harder, but it depends on the team you play. I'm a center and I come home after every game with huge bruises from what feels like a swam of other huge people. Though same could go for a point on a good pressing team or a 1 - 3 - 1 zone defence.
I’m a keeper and I can guarantee that it’s one of the hardest positions ever, but it’s way too fun!!
After each match, my knees and shins are full of bruises and cuts by the other teams strikers and some bad quality turfs and grasses itself, ignoring the fact that many of the 1v1s I face hit me directly in the central upper body.
I still play it though coz I love the appreciation and the shock on people’s face when they see a kinda short person like me saving powerful shots at the corners!

I JUST FRIGGIN LOVE IT
Like today I played against a REAL good team and while I was outside the ground wearing my studs, I could hear them making jokes about how I was short and they would score like 10goals against me and my friends just told me to ignore them
So while our team was practising in our half before the game and taking free kicks, I saved unsavable corner shots and I saw almost everybody from the other team was looking back with their mouths almost open. I just loved that sm that I can never quit being keeper
We won 6-1 tho and I saved 18 on target shots in 60 mins :)

I am a soccer goalkeeper and it is very very hard. All the people say that you only have to stay in the goal but, you need to be brave, jump in the air to just stop a goal.⚽️
And my teammates argue for not stopping a goal when they are all at the other end of the field no defenders near me and iam the only one defending, its a real pain and we get blamed if they opponent scores a goal, i used to be a defender and turned into a goalie, i used to be in my school soccer team but dropped out as i had to concentrate on my exams.

Im from New Zealand who plays rugby and Im confused as to what your interpretation of a Halfback is. You mention he controls the game and is typically the first to receive the ball by this made up position called dummy half? That almost sounds like the first-five, or fly-half if you're a Northern scrub, as the first-five is in charge of controlling the game and is typically the one who receives the ball first from the half-back, as the half-back is almost always the first one to distribute the ball. I think you guys confused the half-back as first-five and this so-called dummy-half as half-back, but at least the footage was of half-backs.

I’m a catcher for my team and I have to take baseballs going 70 mph to the bare forearms and also have to throw as much as all the pitchers combined. The more seasons u play the harder it gets. It should be at least top 5

I think Goaltending (Hockey) Is more physically demanding than Goalkeeping (Soccer), but soccer goalkeeping is more difficult. I respect both though.
