I became a fan of hellebores as well after my last visit to the nursery. They are stunning and I thought that they're expensive with 15$ but I heard that some even pay 50$ for one plant.
They can get really pricey because they take so long to mature to flowering! But worth it!!
I am addicted to hellebores and hostas. During the December holidays, Home Depot had hellebores as decorate holiday plants. After the holidays they marked them down and I picked up 20 for $5 each. Now they're all thriving out in the garden. Some of the planters also had Alberta Spruce and small Evergreen bushes. I am very anxious to learn how to harvest seedlings!

When they are established, their roots are deep and will make them drought tolerant but when they are seedlings they need to be more moist. Sorry for confusion! 🤪🌿🪻🌹

This last year and this year I caught the hellebore bug, I think I purchased about 15, I even order a couple from Burpee, I found some at Lowe’s as well for $19.99. Next year I’m going to get into the yellow varieties.

You've given me the itch to start hellebores in my garden! I found some at Home Depot and I wanted to get the Anna's Red but I didn't see any buds or blooms on any of them. I wanted to purchase because of the beautiful foliage, but wasn't sure it I should buy without seeing flowers first. What would you do?
Probably would depend on how much they were because I have seen so many mislabeled, but if I thought the foliage was beautiful and looked good, I might go for it! 😉🌸🌷🪻

I scored some small ones last fall for $4 each. They're just starting to get leaves. Rabbits cut one leaf so far. Guess they get covered for awhile. 5a
I bet those rabbits learned that was not something to eat pretty quick! That's a really good price, even if they were babies. 🤩🪴🌱🪷
Nice haul and seedlings you have. I have been looking for more Hellebores but haven’t found any in stores. The ones I have are from Traders Joes, when I moved they came with me 😊. I ended up ordering some from Bluestone Perennials during sale this year.
They definitely are hard to find, it was worth the drive as these will bring joy for years! Hope you find more. 🤗🌿🌻🌷
I can’t get hellebores to survive and while I think that there very pretty I don’t go outside much when they would be blooming. But I do have a container right by my patio door that I may give another one a try. I sure would hate to spend the money though and have it die. Conundrum! 🌷💚🙃

I happened to be walking through Walmart’s garden center yesterday and could not believe they actually had Hellabores. They were full-sized, gorgeous and were only 15! I could not resist filling my cart at that incredible price! I absolutely love everything about this beautiful, carefree plant. 😍🪴
