too all the haters, think about this. When a 90 mph pitch is hit, it's coming at you at over 100 mph giving you less than .2 seconds to react. Plus, the players don't have any padding to absorb the impact.
A 90mph pitch takes 0.4 second (faster than the blink of an eye which is .44 seconds) and 95mph takes .35-.375 seconds and 100 is .325 or something crazy like that but still
Why dont they bury the plates into the ground abit? that way balls wont bounce up off of them, people wont trap legs and if someone does a super dramatic dive, then they wont hit their face against it.

I can't IMAGINE how much a sprain hurts when you get it running full-tilt to first base. OW.
