Just started playing Planet Zoo this past month. I had 'bought' Planet Zoo on Steam a year or so ago thinking the grandkids would like it. I'm retired and have spent way too much time (96 hrs so far) just scratching the surface - no way my 11 yr old grand daughter could play it. But now her 70 yr old grandpa is hooked. I am an old sims & sim city player, then Frontiers coasters and city builder games, but never a zoo game. I hope it continues, but as long as it is still supported there is enough to keep this old man occupied for hours on end. Have enjoyed a few of your youtube tutorials and started my first Franchise zoo today after two weeks of sandbox playing. have not gone broke yet. .... :)

It is so complicated, but I’ve given my 9 yo and 11 yo the basics and let me tell you- they took to it surprisingly well!
I hope this game lasts a long time! It’s still new to us console players and I for one am having a blast!
Console Players are 2nd class citizens to Frontier Games. Their support is awful and their communication with their customer base is non-existent. But don't worry their hard at work shoveling out another Jurassic World Evolution that no one asked for.
Yes it's technically new to console, but the console version got years of updates and dlcs in a year..
@ true, honestly I wish we got the dlc rolled out a bit slower! As a creator myself I’ve only gotten to use about 10-15% of the animals so far!

Me and my wife just joined the community! Its the first game we ever play together, and even more now that we're delving into franchise mode. So much fun to log into our zoo and see what she's added, and fun to build knowing shes going to be just as overjoyed as I am. I just found the africa jeep scenery piece and placed it inside the jaws of the massive rock crocodile she built. She hasn't noticed yet. So excited. We're on console, happy we just got the Australia pack, and excited to get everything you PC players are enjoying.
As far as the question this video asks: I'd happily pay a large sum of money for more aquarium stuff. Aquariums are my favorite. Even if they're just set pieces with "fake" animals, special effects moving in the water. I would love sharks and turtles and even dolphins and whales. Maybe they count as a type of exhibit like the walkthrough exhibit where the animals aren't really a whole NPC as much as they are a visual effect that happens inside the enclosure. Upgrade the enclosures the same way you do exhibits. I think you could make them work as real animals though with very little effort. We have seals, why cant we have dolphins? Ohhh, a stingray walkthrough enclosure would be bad ass. I visited one as a child, was so fun to swim amongst them. Speaking of extra animals, Id love there to be feral animals, squirrels, crows, pigeons, seagulls. Even if they only exist as a special effect.
I am a zoo tycoon veteran but I no longer have a PC. I’ve recently found Planet Zoo for my PS5 and boy did I feel like a noob! Your videos have changed how I make my zoos. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I hope you continue to get inspiration and keep posting tutorials. They’ve been life changing for me!!
i haven't finished the vid yet but please multiple habitat gates per habitat! it would make enclosures so much more efficient
All Sims 4 builders and players should try Planet Zoo. I will never go back to EA

I personally would be pretty annoyed if they released a "Planet Zoo 2" that just adds the content from the first game with some updates. We paid for the first game, we should not have to pay again for what is essentially just an update.
If they make a planet zoo 2, then do a "add all dlc animals to base game" so then they can add more. They should also enhance behaviors to make them more wild, infinite feeders toggle in sandbox mode and animals can eat off the land. I really want to run a simulation.

Like JWE2! In that game almost all the dlc Dinos from the first game were included in the base game.
So essentially every animal we've already paid for we have to buy a second time ? I guess that's good for new players, but not for people who have spend money on every dlc just to have to buy them again with the second game.
@@andrewpayne5093 No, they add all dlc animals to base game so we have more at the start
@@andrewpayne5093 no, would be a mechanic like in the total war warhammer games, where the game can recognise if you own the first game and DLC and if you do, then you have access to them in the second game

I'd love to see a 'theme park world" style game where you manage and build an entire theme park town - accommodation, theme parks, zoos - all in one game.
I just want to say thank you mate, your builds , speedbuilds and tutorials really help me manage the game far more than if I was trying to build on my own , so thank you for all your hard work and time

I feel like your on to something been thinking same since Jurassic world dlc with the shark
With over 350 hours in this game, I will never stop playing it. It kills time for me so easily. To have a lot of fun you really need all the DLC's I think
I’m new to the game (love your channel btw, it’s made a huge difference to my zoo already). I’d love to see Frontier lean into more conservation packs. Yes, the behind the scenes items are fun, but with the state of the world, I think it’s what could take this game from being another building simulator to being a game that inspires kids (and adults) and shows us what we could do to help.
I want to be encouraged to learn more about endangered animals and landscapes, educate guests, and have more guest features added.
I know it wouldn’t have the same realism as Planet Zoo, but I’d love to see a Planet Zoo 2 that goes all in on the original Zoo Tycoon dinosaur and aquarium expansion set. I feel like it wouldn’t be that hard to do and be different enough from the original to be worthy of being a whole second game, not just DLC. And imagine how incredible the Jurassic Park builds would be!

I think the next dlc will be a pretty big pack with maybe 16 or so animals (in the livestream where they said there was another dlc coming they also said that theres lots coming) and then they can focus on 'fixing' planet coaster 2 and also the new CMS game coming in 2026
It seems that a lot of the game developers have the same disease. The release it quick to get the money even though it’s not ready so the community has something to complain about. Because three games I follow and play have had new editions released in the past year and they all have had the same complaints about being “broken” and “unplayable”.
everything is for the shareholders. We need to keep voting with our wallets. Im glad Planet Coaster 2 is failing. They are greedy and looking for shortcuts where ever they can find them.
@ no they are adding more new things to the game to try and not only keep the current players but attract new ones. And they keep biting off more than they can chew. And overestimating how quickly they can pull it altogether.
If everyone used the same system it would be a lot easier.

I would like them to keep adding to PZ and add the QOL updates that are better on PC2 like the pathing, scale scenery, and scenery paintbrushes. We dont need PZ2 anytime soon, new game = new problems.

Thanks for the video Adam! Honestly, I feel like it's pretty clear that Frontiers just milking the game at this point, but I'm certainly not complaining! Im still waiting for null elevated paths and spider monkeys! 😂
If Frontier ever make a Planet Zoo 2 the only way they can make it good in my books is if they do a Total War: Warhammer situation with their DLC and make it so that if you've bought the packs from the first game you still have access to those animals in the sequel. There's hundreds of animals they could still add in a sequel so if it's done anything different than that, that would just show their greed and I just couldn't get on board with it.
At least sounds like they’re planning two more DLCs
to be honest with the pasths, i've gotten used to it now so i think if they were to change it would be a hindrance. i know planet Zoo devs are against Building aquariums as they are more controversial, and i know there were never plans for it. i would not like a new planet zoo yet, i dont think its worth it. but i defo would love aviaries to be added. i know i've said before elsewhere, flying birds are fantastic for the walk through exhibits, a lot of zoos have rainbow lorikeets which would be the easiest way of doing a flying bird as there's bats and butterflies.
but i am firmly a Birds for planet zoo supporter. i think if they were to so a small Reef pack or something, with things like walruses, sea iguanas, ribbon seals (although i do think theres enough sea creatures) and it would especially work for the Exhibits, easily allowing for mixed tropical fish tanks, or making tanks a completely different type of habitat barrier allowing for more aquatic life would be cool. but i just dont see it happening

I dont think we need a planet zoo 2 with the cost of living at the moment i would guess most would just appreciate just building on planet zoo
I think planet zoo 2 will be a ways off as they haven't finished releasing the expansion packs for console.
I would love to see birds in the game!
I think PZ2 would be a mistake like PC2 was, they could have updated the pathing system and add a waterpark DLC like Soaked! in RC3.
PZ still has a lot of potential if they can hire more experienced and competent devs to add gameplay features and better DLCs.
I think most of the new packs we’ll get is animal pack. I would love more plants for exhibits
I never had any interest in playing Planet Coaster but I loved Planet Zoo, I hope there is a 2nd one although I haven't even slightly mastered the first one after a year but I haven't played in a long time now. You tutorials are awesome so I will be around for those. I don't learn anything from speed builds, which is sad, I just can't keep up. You mentioned free roaming flying animals, I would love to see that, the current way with the bats and butterflies is too restrictive.
A bit selfish perhaps but I finally bit the bullet and started a YT channel to make PZ videos so I want it to go on for at least a little while longer lol
I'm pretty sure Planet Coaster 2 and Planet Zoo are on different game engines. Trying to rehaul Planet Zoo to use the new engine might not be worth it in the long wrong ( might have to redo a good chunk of the game. ) So, not sure about that happening, or much happening in the way of implementing certain things from Planet Coaster into this.
I thought the zookeeper animal pack was the 18th dlc, not the 17th?

Hey guys, as a newcomer to Planet Zoo, are those downloadable mods (like from the NexusMods website, for instance) really safe? I remember lots of struggle with crashing game and corrupted saved builds in Zoo Tycoon 2, after I installed some DIY community additions like these. Thanks for an answer somebody
Jurassic world evolution 2 launched with all dlc animals minus the hybrids. So technically you were paying for all the dinosaurs a second time if you got their dlcs from the first game, then had to buy a second hybrid pack to get the hybrids again.
I don't like this idea at all especially for planet zoo 2 if you brought every dlc from the first game then buying the second game to get them all again with the addition of a few new animals. If they make a second game it should launch with a completely new roster of animals that were never in the first game, but include everything from the first game via a free update.
It's great for people who have never played planet zoo 1 or jurassic world evolution 1, but not great for people who've already spend money the dlcs to then need to pay to get them again.

I got this game at Christmas and love it but really wish sandbox had the ability to turn off animal needs etc. That was disappointing discovering the lack of customizable game options.

@@adamup Esc > Setting have a tab called 'sandbox settings', where you can select some preset ways to play sandbox, and also tweak each mechanic. The settings are tied to your save file, so you will have to do it once for every new zoo. No idea why the default is only sorta.. halfway sandbox. Took me a while to figure out.
