The biggest thing to take into account with inclusivity and diversity, is that you should make it natural to your story, if it's required at all. Since story and character are what's most important, not representation.
Inclusivity and diversity would entirely depend on the story you're telling and what genre it's in, and is often corrupted by and confused with social justice which has hijacked the words and their purposes.
In it's purest forms, inclusivity and diversity are about sharing experiences, values, and differences. Generally surrounding culture and belief/opinion not skin color or sexuality.
This is easier to do in genres like fantasy and it's no where near as difficult as people make it.
