Tbf if her daughter really does have bpd, it was a matter of time, especially because of the stigma of not diagnosing under 18, which is totally bogus because the only excuse for not give young teens the diagnoses is because and this is what I was told "your hormones and teen Years can basically be the same thing as bpd so we wouldn't really be able to to know" it's the dumbest shit.
@erosagape514 yeah, bpd can only be diagnosed at 18 and above. Sounds like conduct disorder tbh.
@@erosagape514 The issue is that many teens behave in a way that could get them diagnosed with BPD, without having it, which will leave them with serious issues later in life, when they try to get any job that does a legal and medical background check.
@@nehcrum that's exactly the problem though. I started my behavior at 4-5 yelling and screaming I would kill myself or someone to kill me, at 8 I tired killing myself, at 16 I started unprotected sex to try and die "naturally", started doing hard drugs for the same reason, at 17 tried to kill myself at my own best friends house, before that I tried at 15. I never knew what could be wrong with me until I myself looked up bpd, then I brought it up with my own therapist and she said "I had a feeling myself, but I can only diagnosis you with tendencies" that was that, I got on med and I'm still trying, really, really hard. I wish someone would have noticed in time.

Diagnosing a child with oppositional defiance disorder is basically sentencing them to have a miserable life. It is a very very severe diagnosis.
