Bag 10, Spark plugs and wheel bolts tool. The hammer isn't a vw tool. The small socket is for the fuel pump filter nut ? vw wrench /plier that comes with tool kit
15:30: Ah, yes, the famous 4-cyl distributor cap. Back in the early 80's, I worked at a Porsche-Audi dealership, and worked in the parts department about half of the time. I learned pretty quickly that 4-cyl Audi caps were the same as VW Rabbit caps, as were 4 cyl Porsche 924 caps. One day somebody brought in a 928 with Belgian tags, and it had a dual distributor setup that US models did not. I mentioned that the caps sure looked like those from a 924/Audi 4000/VW Rabbit, and the shop foreman (a German man named Helmut) informed me that EVERY VW back to the earliest type 1's used that same distributor cap.
HI Trish, greetings from Florida. I wasn't sure about most of the parts you had, but as someone else mentioned, the speedo and the clock are from late 60's and 70's Type 3. I had a 66 Type 3 Squareback back in the day, and that's the speedo and clock I had. But the prize is the Sapphire radio. If you can get it to work, it will certainly fit into your 71 Super. I tried to find a Sapphire AM/FM for my 73 Super, and I did find a working one on eBay, which I got. Problem is, it did not come with the proper faceplate or the radio knobs. I found a faceplate for it, but it wasn't cheap. The proper knobs like you have on your radio are nearly impossible to find. And when I did find some, they were as much as $50 each, and there are 4 on that radio. I'm not paying that kind of money for radio knobs. So I boxed the radio, put it on a shelf, and installed a period correct non-Sapphire radio that looks almost identical. I'll hang on to the Sapphire and one day I will find a faceplate and knobs that I can afford. In the meantime, the one I installed works just fine. I'm looking forward to seeing you work on your Bug again. The blast cabinet is nice. Could I have really used one of those over the years. Update on my 73 Super. Engine is done, first start has been done while on the stand. It runs perfectly. It's been wrapped up and put aside until he's ready for installation. I had to buy a set of refurbished heads for it. The moron who put plugs in it (over 20 years ago) cross-threaded 3 out of 4 of the plugs and chewed up the spark plug holes so bad that new plugs could not be installed. There is a way to repair them from what I was told. I guess you put in a sleeve and re-tap the holes. A lot of work but it was cheaper for me to just buy a set of refurbished heads. Just like it was much cheaper for me to buy a brand new carb rather than rebuild the old one. $22 bucks for the rebuild kit, a couple hours of work (that I'm for paying by the hour) versus a brand new carb for $55 bucks. Body work is all done, and it should go to primer this weekend if the weather holds. Then glass removal, and paint within the next week or so. Getting closer. Still will be May/June for completion. Look forward to your next video. Cheers! 😎
P.S. Refurbished my bumpers last week. Disassembled them, cleaned, sanded and painted the brackets, compounded and polished the bumpers, and installed the new bumper guards. (thanks for you help on the guards) They look great. Not show quality but certainly driver quality. They aren't the original ones, but they came from VW in Brazil in 1999. They were pre-drilled for the front license plate frame and bumper guards. I only had to drill through the rubber impact strip. What a pain that was, but it's done.
You have made a TON of progress on your bug!! I'm with you re paying for stuff instead of fixing it if the cost is about the same. Time is money, as they say. I can hardly wait to get back at it. I'll finish the blaster this weekend and get that video out. Then it's chassis time! That is very exciting news about the value of my radio! The radio I have in the car already has all the knobs so maybe I'll sell something to add to my Bug fund!
@@TrixedOut I'd love for you to see some pics, and I have a short video of the first and second start of the engine. Unfortunately, he has not posted anything on YT on my car yet. Short of direct emails, there's no way to post anything on here. If he ever gets around to posting anything I'll send a link.
Wow, great gifts. I love the clock. Fun checking out the parts….😮
Great video. Love VW parts. Very nice of your subscriber.
Dale is a rock star…
Thank you! Yes, Dale is a rock star! I'm so thrilled with it all!
The tools, one is a empi flywheel lock tool & the other one is a end play check tool. Both are great tools to have.
The vw magazine's from the 1990' to early 2000, are my favorite ones.
Thats a vw bug 12v am/fm radio. I hope it works. It will fit your dashboard. The vw script between the knobs moves left to right for am/fm stations.
Bag 4, vw oil sump oversized studs. Nice to have.
Bag 7, Exhaust clamps, vw brake shoes hardware, wheel cylinder piston part.
Bag 2, sump hardware with oil pick up tube extension, for sump.
Bag 3, camshaft plug, looks new.
Bag 10, Spark plugs and wheel bolts tool. The hammer isn't a vw tool. The small socket is for the fuel pump filter nut ? vw wrench /plier that comes with tool kit
Bag 8, Cooling vw tins hardware.
Bag 1, fuel injections and related items, with looks like a battery hold down.
Bag 5, vw oil cooler seals.
Bag 6, vw exhaust hardware.

Fascinating! These little tidbits of knowledge are great to have. Thank you for commenting! I used to work with a Helmut! He was a hoot.
Bag 11, Late 70's type 3 gauges. Mechanical bug fuel gauge. Both horns are bug one's.
I had a feeling I'd get all the info I needed from you! Thank you for taking the time to do that! It was very helpful!
@TrixedOut
You can do a will it work video, on the vw radio. All you need is a 12v power source, good speaker, and a antenna.
Great idea! I’ll do that!
Bag 9, Keep the thick washer, its a 10mm vw head washer.
Thanks for always helping me out with stuff! It's so nice knowing I have a contact like you to help with advice!
@TrixedOut
Glad to help out. If you were local, I'll be helping you, in person.
THAT would be great!

Gaskets are not for a Air-Cooled vw engine.
