Level 100 Slow Gunbreaker rotation guide [FFXIV DAWNTRAIL Patch 7.05]

- Lionheart is the only major addition to the Gunbreaker rotation in level 100, and technically it's 3 GCD combo will only replace the 3 burst strike GCDs from Bloodfest every 2 minute burst window, that way GNB will not experience a major change in their rotation. This is also why it rather makes sense to play slow GNB with 2.50 GCD to get it as close as possible with the previous level 90 rotation meta.
With that being said, i still think the 9 GCD NM will be a thing, depending on the BiS later on. If that's the case, I will be cooking fast GNB too later on.

Hi, thanks for your guide, one question at 3:41 you press Lion Heart then No Mercy comes off and then Lion Heart Dmg Output hits.
So is Lion Heart still with No Mercy or without it?
@@kichiro84 the animation delay is from my high ping, it registers as i use it before the buff drops
It's basically the old 90 combo but instead of using 3 burst strike you now have ready to reign combo
That’s like an extra button to mash. Better than adding 3 more.

Very good, clean guide, and easy to understand as always, after watching and learning this guide i finally able to get my 99!
Just a tip for people that don’t have the super low latency. If you slightly delay no mercy till the second have of the gcd you will gain a half second of comfort for the burst so that the final gcd catches no mercy when it reaches 0. Low latency this won’t matter but it’s a problem I’ve seen for years now. And this guy seems to have crazy low lag so he’s hitting the button instantly. If you copy it button for button your last hit in the 2 min especially will be unbuffed.

As a MCH main, this is helpful. One thing I will point out as MCH is also on 2.5 is that with the release of DT that you can double weave pots, so you could double weave No Mercy + Tincture (not sure if that'll be a potency increase or not, but just wanted to let ya know :D)

Because Bloodfest does not share the same cooldown duration as No Mercy, one thing I've always hated for GNB was whenever a fight forced downtime and left me with 0-2 cartridges on the next No Mercy (while Bloodfest isn't available yet). What should I do, should I just eat the reduced dps and i.e. ignore Double Down and at least do Gnashing Fang?
Also, please cater to headphone users and attack the striking dummy on the center of the screen. My right ear did NOT enjoy this video, I had to quit mid-way.
I just use 2.4, since 2.5 is too reliant on BiS gear for me. Right now I don't even have any SS materia and I'm _still_ at 2.4.
Incidentally, at 2.4 you kinda want to avoid weaves during the final GCD. So you usually would leave Sonic Break for the very end, with a Burst Strike right before it.

I was considering sticking with DRK as my "main" tank job, but seeing more Squall skills made me reconsider GNB as FF8 was my first game in the series. The fact that my GNB's crossbar is half as full as DRK is more icing.

Thanks so much for this. Seems to basically be the same, but you don't have to manage gauge QUITE as much since going into the 2 min with even 0 gauge (e.g. just got raised from KO), you can fill all the NM former Burst Strike GCDs with the Lionheart combo and just leave the burst with no cartridges instead. Seems like that makes it a lot more friendly to mistakes. Also have 2 less oGCD weaves (the gapcloser not doing damage) and 3 less from no Burst Strike on the even minute bursts (so 5 less oGCDs there), which could help some people with APM issues.
Don't you find the "action not yet ready" error grating? I don't get how people can stand it. I turned that stuff off. XD
I like this opener a lot more than the one presented in the Balance, it makes it easier to refresh your Gnashing combo, not having to deal with 2 cart during No Mercy and I can fit all Sonic Break in every burst window. Also, in case you delay gnashing or Double Down by one GCD it's pretty much manageable thanks to Sonic Break being tied to NM
Thanks for the guide! I love GNB's style and I enjoy tanking. The opener seems straight forward, so I was hesitant to look at a GNB video, but it actually helped me understand that order of ability mashing is key because of timings. Knowing when to Gnashing Fang / Blasting Zone is actually much more important than I realized so you can time it in your 30 second window and have it back ready for your 1 and 2 minute combos.
7.0 really solidifies GNB as a DPS disguised as a tank.

Good video, but honestly, it probably could've been like 5 minutes long. After the opener, the 1 minute, and the 2 minute, the point is pretty well made.
thanks for the kind words mate, but the purpose of this rotation guide is to show it fully from the 1st pot window to the 2nd pot window, especially when the rotation is not looping, in case someone is missing something (so they can check it).

Slow breaker still looking good in 7.0. Had fun with it in 6.4 it was nice change up from fast breaker , appreciate the guide videos homie they have help me out when the balance discord setup for gnb was not really clicking with me.

Just curious at 9:45 when you have some time on your pot left, would you have normally used a burst strike there instead of keen edge (I assume you keen edged because video was ending) because it looks like you could've fit a BS HV there?
@@callmez_3380 yes i would. you can even do extra burst strike on every 2 min if you have raid buff left. 2.5 gnb is very flexible now
@@aylaveen so how do you deal with gnashing fang drifting? Such as being knocked up in the air or the boss jumping around? I know the rotation very well but I find the unavoidable drifting on certain fights make it annoying. I guess I don't know how to repair gnb
@@callmez_3380 2.5 is very tight in that sense, if your overall drift is 1 GCD you can use sonic break earlier since it no longer has a cooldown - then gnashing fang. if it's 2, you can do sb>dd >gf. or if it's too far away i'd say revrese drift and skip gnashing fang if you have to use it when NM is
The new reign of beasts lvl 100 skills looks so doofy and it makes me mad. There's no grounding unlike all the other attacks. You aren't driving the blade through the enemy. You're spaghetti noodling around while your character model dances on invisible puppet strings. You don't even touch the ground for most of the animations. It looks horrible.

it's fine but a minor downtime might drift your no mercy to the next GCD
thanks for the info, will there be a clip of you demonstrating the 1 NM opener? i have been doing that one and my opener would usually be 1, NM, Bloodfest, Gnashing fang > Ready to rip, blasting zone, Bowshock, sonic break, complete the rest of the gnashing fang combo, double down, lion heart combo, 2, 3, burst strike and continuation. just want to make sure that my opener has been optimal, thanks!

As a gunbreaker veteran since after endwalker. I was used to my old level 90 combos. Least there won’t be much change in rotations.

pre-savage gear just meld all DH if you're not going for extra skillspeed

@@iHongster no, it depends on the gear since it realates to stats tiering. Best you check gearing forums like icy veins or the balance

@@phuongp no you can't. 9 gcd nm can only be done with ideally 2.41 to 2.40. if you have low ping maybe higher but not ideal

So long rough divide... kinda sad removing rough divide hotbar. ROUGH DIVIDE is one of the original moves from gunblade-jutsu itself and now SE removes it... and the new kid trajectory dont even have effing damage??!!
Rough Divide having damage tied to it kinda was the problem tbf lol, you had to use all its charges on burst windows for more damage(and thus not be able to close gaps if a mob is far away from you if you're not in burst window), and it also made weaving mitigations harder since you need to doubleweave so often in burst. Not having damage tied to it fixes both of those issues pretty nicely, though RIP Rough Divide all the same :/
Explanation isn't directed to you specifically btw, but also to anyone who doesn't know why this skill (and Plunge) have been replaced by non-damaging dash skills yet. We're still in early access as of now after all.

I also have not checked DRK yet. Only comparing to PLD and Unga-Bunga they still got damaging dash, thus comes the rant lol
@@adtsiriusstarr112 Yeah, it's kinda weird that the PLD and WAR gap closers also haven't been replaced to be non-damaging, tbh.
And really, Plunge and Rough Divide will be missed, they look super cool and the dashes don't do those two justice.

Would it be better to go into two min burst with zero ammo and double weave no mercy blood fest to get BF on cd earlier or would it be better to do it like you showed in the video?
I have actually tried this out and technically you can, but I wouldn't recommend it. As having full cartridge post 2 min burst is actually better for flexibility on encounters especially with downtimes like Ultimates.

@@SpyceC13 we don't have a level 100 ultimate yet, but let's assume the previous ones are. ie - on phase 5 &6 top where both dps checks are so tight that you have to spend all of your cartridges on phase 5, while entering with 0 cartridge on phase 6.
Instead of that you might have a full cartridge to carryover for the next phase and potentially increase the damage output during your re-opener in phase 6
@@aylaveen so basically it’s just a good habit to have full ammo exiting your 2min burst and just apply burst strikes where the fight might require them otherwise just don’t overcap

My only problem with the new Ready to Reign is that it interrupts gnashing fangs combo ending it if you haven't finished it. Feels like it should have functioned like Double down where it doesn't interrupt.
DD isn't a combo skill tho.

dunno the exact skillspeed but 2.40/2.41/2.50 gcd is comfy for GNB as far as my testing goes

If they give the new gap closer enmity generation- absolutely not. Having 2 on demand gap closers is amazing for up time and clearing 2 oGCDs is likewise amazing for comfy mitigation weaving.
