After driving BYD electric cars, I had a great experience. It is definitely a good car.
The green is such an amazing colour
Yes, love it!
Hopefully Europe also get the update of the seal 2025. It got plenty of upgrades like: Lidar, automatic panoramic roof, colder wireless charging. New suspension, faster dc charging etc. Some new interior updates aswell.
I got the current Seal and im happy with it. Works for me and my family 2 kids 6 and 2 years old.
I seldom fast charge but still drive around 120 km a day.
And I agree its probably better to wait for some more news when the new version arrives here.
I also waiting for new Seal in Europe.
Any expected date when it will arrive to Europe? I've also heard that the battery is smaller
@joneslukas haven't heard any date
I came very close to pulling the trigger on the BYD AWD but since the announcement of the new face-lift model I decided to wait.
Very comprehensive review....as usual. Well done!
Thanks!
Beautiful home. Lovely greenhouse and two Solar array installs, from what I see. I have two systems on my house. A new main system done in March that replaced a nearly 9 year old system then I also have a 3 year old system too.
Thanks! In total 3 arrays with in total 30 panels (11kWp).
@@ItsOnlyElectric Great.
Little too many camera angle cuts in this review but otherwise another great, detailed review. This guy really deserves a lot more subscribers.
Thanks for the feedback. 👍
always nice honest car reviews, with the right information 👍
You know it 👍
Congrats for having the guts to come to an honest conclusion...M
Did I say anything provoking?
@@ItsOnlyElectric ....you said that you wouldn't buy now but wait for a facelift version! From a manufacturers perspective, I think that's at least not a favourable verdict.... you also gave the impression that the Seal is a quite decent car, but not a car to go ahead with and just buy - but wait for an updated version....M
@fragu123 yes, correct. If charging is important, then I would wait. I always do unbiased reviews.
2 dimensional screens don’t do it justice. When you see this car in person, it’s really good looking sedan. 150kw charging not that impressive? Let’s get real; in australia the number of people that access chargers over 150 is tiny. 150 is more than enough
It's gorgeous! One of the best looking sedans available. 150 is not bad but here in Scandinavia there's plenty of chargers and 150 is not impressive for a car that's just introduced to the market. But in most use cases it's enough.
You picked up a real nice colour.
Yes, so nice!
Tack for allthe details 🙂 The charging speed is a bit disappointing, especiallyfor such a battery pack. Anyway, good job mate
Yes, hopefully they fix it in the next iteration of updates.
@@ItsOnlyElectricin the Seal 2025 or in the next software update? Thanks! :)
In the Seal 2025. Maybe the battery conditioning can be enhanced slightly with SW. But I wouldn't count on it.
Current BYD seal has 800v architecture so with an OTA update it could reach insane speeds of charging I guess
@Randomas32 it's running on 550v. The limit on the current blade gen is probably the chemistry and battery management..
Always a good deal!
Always feel complicated to see the Seal, which was initially designed for filling the sporty segment in China's domestic market to compete with Model 3, that many Chinese youth have been keyboarding the demands for years, and yet when it finally launched, it became quite a hot cake outside of China instead of the domestic one, what a weird turnout.
It doesn't seem to sell that well in Sweden at least but in countries like Australia it does.
@@ItsOnlyElectric Yeah, not that much so currently in europe, quite well in AUS, NZL and SEA countries.
Sales have recently spiked in China. Once they saw foreigners buying the car, its prestige in the Chinese market lifted and buyers in China "realised" it was a very good car.
@@ItsOnlyElectric also in Latin American countries.
@@ItsOnlyElectricbecause the price in Europe is too high compare to Australia and Asian market. Thanks to the tariffs.
Thanks.
Hopefully BYD will establish strong foothold in Europe. We will need more service points and support. Only doubt is current political atmosphere in Europe which can force BYD to exist European markt.
About charging, did you charge in a 800V charger? Seal is 600v architecture so it needs it
Charger supports 150-1000v with max output 300kw (4x75kw modules).
@@ItsOnlyElectricok, then probably battery was not hot enough. Own testing showed that it is better to charge at 400v station than 800v because it doesn't rapid gate to the same extents
Beyond the debate sedan/SUV, with the XPENG G6, which one would you choose?
Hmm... G6, but the BYD looks so much better.
If for some reason BYD makes a combi of this, it'll sell like hot cake in Europe..
Yes, bring us a station and 40/20/40 foldable seats BYD! 💪
@@ItsOnlyElectric They did make a prototype of BYD HAN as a stationwagon. It looks really good. Sadly they never released it.
Just google BYD HAN stationwagon and you can see pictures of it btw.
I've seen it. Looks cool.
Which charging station did you use? What voltage?
300kw 400/800V
@@ItsOnlyElectric SEAL voltage falls in the middle of those two standards.
Yes, around 550 I heard. Not many chargers that can handle that. Tesla supercharger may be a good option.
How would you say the seals compares to the Han, how big difference is there in comfort and so on?
After testing the Seal I wouldn't even look at the HAN. It's comfortable, silent, better looking and even more practical. And cheaper!
I feel like chinese EVs are one step further than european cars
That is the case. Hopefully European manufacturers will get things right and catch up. Before it's too late.
I think too much emphasis is placed on the the speed of DC fast charging of EVs, by reviewers in general. In the two years we've owned EVs, we've never even used public charging. Most people would do the bulk of their charging at home or work. In practice, very few people would care about spending a bit of extra time charging on the occasional long distance trip. And what's more important is the average charge rate, not the peak rate.
well there are more and more people who are dependent on public chargers.
Without EVs will be a luxury for those who can afford a home, garage with charger or similar.
Most cities are however public road parking and multi story buildings. I would need to throw a wire down from the fourth floor and then over around 2 meters of sidewalk in order for me to charge at home.
@@AlphaHorst Then don't buy an EV. Simple.
@@vasil7410 mate this is a video with the topic of "how to get more people to buy an EV". Soe itehr you are actively trolling or you are not the sharpest tool in the shed. I am not sure which one
@@AlphaHorst I think you have your wires crossed. This video is about the BYD Seal, it's not a social statement about people who can't afford a house. I have two EVs - including this car - but I wouldn't buy any EV if I couldn't charge at home, that's one of the best things about owning an EV.
@@vasil7410 I very much have them crossed... TH-cam did not show the video thumbnail and I commented a very similar thing under a different video just minutes before this one. Sorry
Thank you for the review. It would be interesting to see the 0-100 time on sport oriented tyres.
Yes, hard to feel the spins on EVs. But felt very stable so don't expect that big difference.
@@ItsOnlyElectric Thank you for the reply. I wonder if BYD use a one foot rollout on their timer. It’s a great car. I found that depending on the settings, the car can be a smooth limo or a nut job GT car 🤣
@MosesKaldor don't think so since I managed 0-100 at stated time.
Now BYD seal will recieve update for EV trip charge planner.
That's great
I am surprised the DC Charging Rate (Max) even on Performance is only 150kw
Most people do not need better than 4C charging. 5C and 6C will mostly be for super luxury and or super fast vehicles and heavy trucks with huge batteries.
4C would be 320 kW in case of an 80 kWh pack.
Only on china currently
The Seal is like 1C
*150 KW is pretty impressive, hardly find any where I live in North America ... I understand for Norway and the other Scandinavian countries because they are so tiny and the population also concentrated to tiny pockets it's easier to build up infrastructures*
We have superchargers and ionity stations etc covering most of the areas. Capable of delivering high output 200-350kW.
Anybody know where the paint colour code is located ?
Unfortunately not. But you can get it from the dealer?
Ocean series
壊れたらどこで修理するのか?
At the preferred service and repaired service partner's.
is it just me or this guy looks exactly like zelensky
It's just you. 😂😂
Slow, very heavy and not efficent.
I mean quick and not super heavy for havning a LFP pack but efficiency is a bit of a let down.
Over all a meh car 😢😢😢
Model 3 any day over this China car.
Highest numbers of Model 3 is manufactured in China by Chinese people and exported all around world as well, wake up.
Do we have to bring Tesla into every conversation, it's so boring.
BYD > any Tesla. F**k Elon Musk
