I think the most heartbreaking part of this video is that it so accurately represents how good and impactful this show could have been if the creators hadn't screwed it up in the last few seasons.
I honestly thought all the seasons were fantastic, season six and seven were for sure my favorites. But I agree with they could’ve ended season eight much better.
Nah it wasn't their faults, they were required changes in last moments when everything was already set up For example they were planning on killing off Shiro and had everything ready, the story, the plot, the storyboards, but then they got a new requirement to keep him alive, a few changes s like these were made too late so they had to come up with ways to make their jobs easier because it would take too long to rewrite everything plus make storyboards and then reanimate everything again They had no choice in the matter

It's almost been a year since VLD ended. This show will always have a special little place in my heart, despite the injustices it received at its ending. These characters were beautiful, and i grew with this show as i watched it. The idea was so basic, but VLD was something completely unique; and I'll always love it for that. i remember watching that for the first time after the season came out, and it. it hurt so so much. pidge's SCREAM - bex is such a talented voice actress, cause damn, i _felt_ it. it's such a beautiful and heartbreaking moment in television and it really made me think: this is grief.
I saw this and ended up binge watching all of Voltron in about three days. You monster. This was beautiful. It is nothing short of a masterpiece. I love how you incorporated the voice overs and created a very powerful story. Also, I can't believe that before watching the show, I thought that Lance with a jellyfish over his head was a super emotional moment. Oh how wrong I was.

I honestly don't know if anyone feels the same, but this video makes me want to experience Voltron again. I can't bring myself to watch it all over because I remember all the experiences I had when each season was still coming out, the fan art, the fanfics, the tumblr theories - everything. I'd honestly give anything to watch Voltron for the first time again, it's such a magical show to me and even the later seasons meant a lot even if they weren't perfect because I feel like we all got to experience it together :)

fr dude. the shipping fandom was always weird and toxic (happened to myself a couple times too, no matter how ashamed I am to say it 😭) and I tried to rewatch it but this show had such a chokehold on me. ESPECIALLY klance. too fucking much. I was insanely obsessed and for some reason I still am and I can't tell you why because I don't know. the emotions this show gives me are so bittersweet and it's so sad.
i had the same feelings about rewatching just bc i knew it would be so hard emotionally. i watched the show when i was 13-14. i was so so depressed, i had no purpose and everyday was a fight. in less than two months i turn 21. in three months i’ll be celebrating four years with my partner, and two years living in our own apartment. a few weeks ago i decided to rewatch the first episode just for kicks and my partner was in the room and they really liked it. we started watching it together and. i cant even put the feeling into words. it’s weird to rewatch it, but it’s mostly been really nice. i’ve kind of gone through a phase recently where i’ve gotten back into all my old fandoms but instead of using them as a shield from the world i just use them as a source of happiness. it’s kind of my way of saying goodbye to my teenage years?? i think by the time i finish the series again i’ll be thankful i did it. plus i forgot just how fucking GOOD this show is, forgetting all the bullshit between fans and creators, just enjoying everything it has to offer has been the best part. at the end of the day it’s a story i’ll always keep close to my heart, it’s comforting and it’s just good. also for me personally it’s been cool to notice how i react to it now versus how i did back then, i learn a lot through doing stuff like that. sorry this is so long, but this comment section feels very comforting, thanks for reading if you did
My best friend introduced me to Voltron back when season 1 aired, we were obsessed with it, until my best friend grew out of the show around season 2 and didn't watch it anymore, I spent years watching this show, crying, cheering, laughing, getting shocked, and at the Season 8 Finale, I cried, hard. I grew up with this show, I remember me having the best birthday ever because Season 5 came out on my Birthday, I spent the whole day watching Voltron, my entire life was this show. I miss it so much. I know everyone says the show was trash after season 3, I don't agree, some of my fav seasons are after season 3, but I do love Season 2 so much, ah screw it, I love every episode, I quote the lines in Voltron daily. I watch the Space Mall episode before I go to bed everynight. It's my favourite episode of the whole show. And, I don't really ship anyone, I love all the relationships in this show, I think they're all adorable, I've re-watched Voltron at Least 4 times during quarantine, and it makes me so happy to see people here in 2020 who still love this show...it's been an honour flying with ya'll
This show was what made me get close to my friends, every time a trailer for a new season would drop I would text it to our group chat, we got more people to watch it. it started with just me and one friend who happened to watch it and we started making references with made the other people start watching it, we got six other people to start watching it, we would get super hyped for a new season and some of us would stay up all night together to watch it. we talked theories to ships (respectfully tho most shipped klance but there was one sheith shipper and a plance shipper too) and we all got assigned a character (i was keith) and we roleplayed, the first sleepover i was even invited too was partly a voltron sleepover. and at the last season we all got together i think 5 (one couldn't make it) and we watched the entire last season together, we stayed up until 5am watching it since we had school and had to wait for people to arrive but, we watched it all and were screaming and yelling the entire time, the adult of the house did not get any sleep that night. A few of us cried at the end and we all hated the end. but we went through it together and it was one of the main reasons we all even became friends. But even though the disappointment I cant hate this show, Its been an honor flying with you.
Wow. I don't even know what to say right now. This is hands down the best Voltron video I've ever seen. I don't think any of others even come close to how epic this one is and how well it captures the show as a whole. Everything was in there: their found family, their struggles, their destiny as Voltron, and their fight against Zarkon. This video is so layered and has such an amazing build up. It's been a good long while since this show ended.. it might've been a complete trainwreck in the end, but honestly? I can't bring myself to hate this show. It was my escape, and it still holds a special place in my tiny heart. Even though the end was heartbreaking.. and the community around it was questionable, it was still one of my favorite shows. Every few months I come back to this edit because it just perfectly captures how amazing this show truly was. I feel like if DreamWorks didn't fuck up what the production team had already created for the end, it could have been so impactful. Wish I could experience this show for the first time again.

Voltron was my entire life while it was still ongoing. The characters meant everything and I had never been so into a fandom before. I was absolutely crushed by the way the last half of the seasons were handled. The ending tore me apart. Voltron was my hyperfixation and it felt like I was mourning a death after it was over. I distanced myself from the mess of a fandom but occasionally I come back to this masterpiece. It makes me feel so many feelings and means so much to me. The song is still one of my absolute favorites and I first heard it here. The artistry and talent evident in this video is immense. Truly beautiful❤️

Voltron: Defenders of the Universe is a show that my dad watched when he was a kid. When I went on Netflix one day, it was on the home screen while my dad was in my room. That's how I got into Voltron: Legendary Defender. I wish I had watched it when it came out, but, I never knew about it, so here I am watching it in late 2023 and early-to-mid 2024....

I was a little late to the Voltron thing, because when I saw it I saw on Netflix. I’ve watched it about 16 times. It’s not like other shows where you grow out of it, I have been sticking to this show for the past 3 years.

At first, the video was a bit slow paced, but I could start to feel how the emotion of this video will end up being. It didn't hit me until @2:30 when I felt myself just...chilled. This song and just how the whole video was sequenced...you can feel the pull of sadness, longing, belonging, exclusion, etc. Amazing video @MockingJamie. A huge thank you for taking your time to make this.
Also, might I add, it wasn't flashy. Or extremely edited to become something empowering. The insert of dialogue and just the addition of specific scenes to the emotions of the music causes this whole other vibe. It can completely relate to how the show is. And, I just love it. It is perfect.

Every once in a while I'll come back to this. I remember watching it initially, and it moved me so much I wrote my first honest to god, multi-chapter fanfic. The vid is so beautifully crafted, and my adoration for it keeps sending me back. The series will be leaving netflix soon, and will become completely inaccessible. One of my favorite parts of the video is how Pidge's yelling blends in with the song at 1:33 - 1:35. It's just too much. This is my favorite Voltron AMV!! I love a lot of things that are happening in this, like how beautiful moments and scenery are captured, the video is very dramatic without seeming overly-dramatic, and how it's one of the things that remind me how hard those people worked on the show. A lot of the time when I look through Voltron content outside of the actual show, it doesn't make me feel anything close to what this video makes me feel. Even after it ended and I wasn’t happy with the last season,(they murdered my babyyy) this still hits me and my breath gets caught in my throat, and my eyes start to prickle with tears. You made an amazing video that made me feel every second of it and it’s incredible. The sheer and raw talent you have to bring together a small 4 minute video from hundreds of clips, and it to make me feel the slow and emotional burn i felt for 7 seasons. It’s insanely, incredibly, beautifully done.

It's been almost 3 years since this video came out and I can hands down say that I have never been moved by a piece of fan-created content for a show as much as this one. VLD is not my favorite show, but it helped me discover who I was as a person, and my love for the show is only dampened by the potential it so clearly had through the first three seasons. Voltron did not deliver on what it set up, but for what it gave me I will be forever thankful, and for what this video brings up in me are all the feelings I wanted to feel during Season 8. Honestly I watched and got into Voltron my freshman year with Covid and online schools, now I’m watching this just reminded me of all the memories I had with watching this show, and just so many things I had locked away from the past 4 years just kaboomed I forgot how good Voltron was and only remembered it as a cringy show. I still can't believe Voltron ended 6 years ago, it's been so much time and I miss the old good days of 2016-2018 I was 9 when I finished that show for the first time and now I'm 14 I realize those were the best days of my life.
When sam was predicting pidge's future i bet he didnt want his youngun to be caught up in a 10k year space war. But he was right, they were chosen for their roles and they gave it their all. And ugh why the feels man
voltron had its ups and downs we can all agree on that. its lows were a tragedy to watch unfurl and it hurt even more to know that as an audience member i couldnt do anything to change it. the highs on the other hand were beautiful, showing off the amount of potential and passion the show had in its best moments.
I come back to this video all the time and it always makes me so emotional. It fills my heart with the feelings I felt when I first started watching the show. Sometimes it's nice to feel hopeful but now it just feels bitter sweet.

i remember watching that for the first time after the season came out, and it. it hurt so so much. pidge's SCREAM - bex is such a talented voice actress, cause damn, i _felt_ it. it's such a beautiful and heartbreaking moment in television and it really made me think: this is grief.
I saw this and ended up binge watching all of Voltron in about three days. You monster. This was beautiful. It is nothing short of a masterpiece. I love how you incorporated the voice overs and created a very powerful story. Also, I can't believe that before watching the show, I thought that Lance with a jellyfish over his head was a super emotional moment. Oh how wrong I was.

I honestly don't know if anyone feels the same, but this video makes me want to experience Voltron again. I can't bring myself to watch it all over because I remember all the experiences I had when each season was still coming out, the fan art, the fanfics, the tumblr theories - everything. I'd honestly give anything to watch Voltron for the first time again, it's such a magical show to me and even the later seasons meant a lot even if they weren't perfect because I feel like we all got to experience it together :)

fr dude. the shipping fandom was always weird and toxic (happened to myself a couple times too, no matter how ashamed I am to say it 😭) and I tried to rewatch it but this show had such a chokehold on me. ESPECIALLY klance. too fucking much. i had the same feelings about rewatching just bc i knew it would be so hard emotionally. i watched the show when i was 13-14. i was so so depressed, i had no purpose and everyday was a fight. in less than two months i turn 21. in three months i’ll be celebrating four years with my partner, and two years living in our own apartment. a few weeks ago i decided to rewatch the first episode just for kicks and my partner was in the room and they really liked it. we started watching it together and. i cant even put the feeling into words. it’s weird to rewatch it, but it’s mostly been really nice. i’ve kind of gone through a phase recently where i’ve gotten back into all my old fandoms but instead of using them as a shield from the world i just use them as a source of happiness. it’s kind of my way of saying goodbye to my teenage years?? i think by the time i finish the series again i’ll be thankful i did it. plus i forgot just how fucking GOOD this show is, forgetting all the bullshit between fans and creators, just enjoying everything it has to offer has been the best part. at the end of the day it’s a story i’ll always keep close to my heart, it’s comforting and it’s just good. also for me personally it’s been cool to notice how i react to it now versus how i did back then, i learn a lot through doing stuff like that. sorry this is so long, but this comment section feels very comforting, thanks for reading if you did

My best friend introduced me to Voltron back when season 1 aired, we were obsessed with it, until my best friend grew out of the show around season 2 and didn't watch it anymore, I spent years watching this show, crying, cheering, laughing, getting shocked, and at the Season 8 Finale, I cried, hard. I grew up with this show, I remember me having the best birthday ever because Season 5 came out on my Birthday, I spent the whole day watching Voltron, my entire life was this show. I miss it so much. I know everyone says the show was trash after season 3, I don't agree, some of my fav seasons are after season 3, but I do love Season 2 so much, ah screw it, I love every episode, I quote the lines in Voltron daily. I watch the Space Mall episode before I go to bed everynight. It's my favourite episode of the whole show. And, I don't really ship anyone, I love all the relationships in this show, I think they're all adorable, I've re-watched Voltron at Least 4 times during quarantine, and it makes me so happy to see people here in 2020 who still love this show...it's been an honour flying with ya'll
This show was what made me get close to my friends, every time a trailer for a new season would drop I would text it to our group chat, we got more people to watch it. it started with just me and one friend who happened to watch it and we started making references with made the other people start watching it, we got six other people to start watching it, we would get super hyped for a new season and some of us would stay up all night together to watch it. we talked theories to ships (respectfully tho most shipped klance but there was one sheith shipper and a plance shipper too) and we all got assigned a character (i was keith) and we roleplayed, the first sleepover i was even invited too was partly a voltron
sleepover. and at the last season we all got together i think 5 (one couldn't make it) and we watched the entire last season together, we stayed up until 5am watching it since we had school and had to wait for people to arrive but, we watched it all and were screaming and yelling the entire time, the adult of the house did not get any sleep that night. A few of us cried at the end and we all hated the end. but we went through it together and it was one of the main reasons we all even became friends. But even though the disappointment I cant hate this show, Its been an honor flying with you.

Wow. I don't even know what to say right now. This is hands down the best Voltron video I've ever seen. I don't think any of others even come close to how epic this one is and how well it captures the show as a whole. Everything was in there: their found family, their struggles, their destiny as Voltron, and their fight against Zarkon. This video is so layered and has such an amazing build up. However disappointed I was in it I'll always have a special place in my heart for it since it affected me so positively at one point in my life. 😭

Voltron was my entire life while it was still ongoing. The characters meant everything and I had never been so into a fandom before. I was absolutely crushed by the way the last half of the seasons were handled. The ending tore me apart. Voltron was my hyperfixation and it felt like I was mourning a death after it was over. I distanced myself from the mess of a fandom but occasionally I come back to this masterpiece. It makes me feel so many feelings and means so much to me. The song is still one of my absolute favorites and I first heard it here. The artistry and talent evident in this video is immense. Truly beautiful❤️

That's how I got into Voltron: Legendary Defender. I wish I had watched it when it came out, but, I never knew about it, so here I am watching it in late 2023 and early-to-mid 2024....

At first, the video was a bit slow paced, but I could start to feel how the emotion of this video will end up being. It didn't hit me until @2:30 when I felt myself just...chilled. This song and just how the whole video was sequenced...you can feel the pull of sadness, longing, belonging, exclusion, etc. Amazing video @MockingJamie. A huge thank you for taking your time to make this.
Also, might I add, it wasn't flashy. Or extremely edited to become something empowering. The insert of dialogue and just the addition of specific scenes to the emotions of the music causes this whole other vibe. It can completely relate to how the show is. And, I just love it. It is perfect.

This is probably my favorite voltron video.. i love ur variety with footage from all the seasons and the fact that u didnt just use the classic or most popular scenes. I think it encompasses the show as a whole really well. And the use of voiceovers and subtle sound effects once and a while flows really well and adds a lot of depth to the vid! Every once in a while I'll come back to this. I remember watching it initially, and it moved me so much I wrote my first honest to god, multi-chapter fanfic.

This is my favorite Voltron AMV!! I love a lot of things that are happening in this, like how beautiful moments and scenery are captured, the video is very dramatic without seeming overly-dramatic, and how it's one of the things that remind me how hard those people worked on the show. A lot of the time when I look through Voltron content outside of the actual show, it doesn't make me feel anything close to what this video makes me feel. Even after it ended and I wasn’t happy with the last season,(they murdered my babyyy) this still hits me and my breath gets caught in my throat, and my eyes start to prickle with tears. You made an amazing video that made me feel every second of it and it’s incredible. The sheer and raw talent you have to bring together a small 4 minute video from hundreds of clips, and it to make me feel the slow and emotional burn i felt for 7 seasons. It’s insanely, incredibly, beautifully done.

It's been almost 3 years since this video came out and I can hands down say that I have never been moved by a piece of fan-created content for a show as much as this one. VLD is not my favorite show, but it helped me discover who I was as a person, and my love for the show is only dampened by the potential it so clearly had through the first three seasons. Voltron did not deliver on what it set up, but for what it gave me I will be forever thankful, and for what this video brings up in me are all the feelings I wanted to feel during Season 8.

I’m just glad Dreamworks seems to have learned their lesson since She-Ra honestly felt like an apology for Voltron hahaha And then Kipo was amazing, too. When sam was predicting pidge's future i bet he didnt want his youngun to be caught up in a 10k year space war. But he was right, they were chosen for their roles and they gave it their all. And ugh why the feels man
voltron had its ups and downs we can all agree on that. its lows were a tragedy to watch unfurl and it hurt even more to know that as an audience member i couldnt do anything to change it. the highs on the other hand were beautiful, showing off the amount of potential and passion the show had in its best moments.
