- This is a concept that I've wanted to see happen in the game for a bit, even before Splatoon 3 was announced! This is a MODDED representation of how it could look in-game! I'd love to see discussion on this happen in the Splatoon community; it's such a cool idea!

God it looks even more fluid and effortless to use than I was hoping. Suddenly literally every map would feel good to play on
Seems like a cool concept, but it’d need some balancing.
1) Make it at least 50% of the ink tank, you shouldn’t be able to spam them constantly.
2) Put a limit of 2 at a time, you can’t just create an infinite bridge.
3) Make them spawn underneath you like an Ink Mine, rather than thrown. That way you can use them to pillar up instead of an awkward staircase, but you also need to reach your destination to start climbing it.
4) Put a decay in the boxes, like about 15HP/sec, so that if you want to use them, you must be quick.
With those, it becomes not overpowered but still is good for opening flank routes and providing emergency cover. Overall, cool idea.
i think it should be a cheap sub, but you can only have a max of 4 or something and you have to destroy them to place more. I think a decay would be nice for both teams tho.

Honestly I think only 1 box at a time would be as far as nintendo would go if they did add something like this. Purely because there's no way that they'd think every wall should be climbable, and they wouldn't rework every map to be taller in places just to defend from one new sub. This way you'd also need multiple people on the team to be using the sub, and grouped together to climb taller walls, so there's a tradeoff of less people with threatening subs on the team and you're likely giving up map control for a moment to work together to reach a different area of map to control. Love the concept though, just no way Nintendo would be so generous as to allow us to actually explore a map fully!
for a sub that completely breaks the map design at the trade off of not having a lethal bomb or location or (good) defensive capabilities, i think a max of one at a low cost, lasting 8 seconds (PLENTY of time to platform but also just enough time for enemies to chase after you) and having 80hp or 70hp would be more balanced
while also keeping it still fun tbh
If we had working spawn shields like in the first two games this would actually be hype, but for now this is still super impressive! It's so smooth for not being intended in game!

This actually sounds like a good sub weapon lol. Aggressive frontlines will love the extra movement options, plus the box can act like a mini meat sheild similar to sprinkler. Here's 3 kits featuring the box.

I agree with this yeah and I think the box pairs well with weapons that rat a lot like sploosh. Maybe backlines could use it to set up supports for themselves or for teammates.
You boosted my interest in the sub by 50% with the persona music
this is a cool idea but i think the routes it opens up on maps would make it so broken like way too good - also the ability to get to places that an enemy player without the box sub wouldn't ever be able to reach you at - making you completely safe and probably on high ground
i'd like this more personally as one of the challenges, i think that'd be super fun as then everyone has it so the brokeness is not a big deal

This looks sick! Great showcase and modding work! However, I feel like this would be better as a special. Similar to the Bomb Rush specials, you could just spam throw these over and over. Same HP and stacking rules apply, but having it be a sub seems a little too broken
The concept is interesting, but despite on what people think about the maps design, this sub is broken in all the way possibile. The only way you can balance it is like:
-Only one box available
-If you want to place another one, the other needs to be destroyed
-Something like 20HP, like it can tank only one shot
-95% ink cost and white-frames, so you can't go immediatly in the frontline, you have to wait
It still allow for really big broken opportunities, especially with a comp of 4 of them
I think it would work well as a cheap sub designed specifically for movement and being an obstacle. The only way i could see it being implemented healthily though is if nintendo wasn’t afraid of opening maps up to both teams. Fix that and I think the box becomes a very useful and cool tool for weapons.
@@WyGuy49 look at the Beakon and how they still require 90% of the ink tank.
I think many players underestimate the importance of not give players to much freedom, like yeah, some Splat3 maps are a bit of hallway, but that doesn't even help that much, it's much more attacker focus as a subs, doesn't actually give to much room for retakes because you still have to go through mid for most of the maps
Item that turns Splatoon 3 into Splatoon 2.
More than one box seems busted. You can go anywhere, including places nobody should ever be able to stand, and can completely ignore intended map routes and travel times.
The ability to just get in the enemy base for free is insane, plus you get high ground wherever you want it. That Hagglefish clip radicalized me.
That said, I hope Splat 4 adds stuff like this in response to the feedback from challenges like Gushers and High Jump

This would be so cool omg! I think it should only be two on the map at one time so you cant just build a tower or something. But this mod looks so good!
I've always thought this would be cool if drones were added into the multiplayer modes and could do stuff like change the sub weapon or special based off of three options Side Order style. Have it so you can change your drone's gear whenever you respawn and maybe the cost could be extra spawn time or some sort of cool down timer or a higher It would be a crazy way to have custom kits 😂
But more importantly, it could add things to the environment like boxes or temporarily paintable walls.

This is a really good idea and I think this surprisingly balanced if you hear me out.
The boxes them selves are pretty weak so you'd have to becareful where you set them up, and they'd seem pretty bad on defense or lockout. On offense, however, they might be the best sub in the game for getting you into places and allowing for more movement, which is such a cool idea.
Point is, they have clear strengths and weaknesses with the way you've implemented them and that's a great thing. Hoping a Nintendo employee sees this just so it can have even the smallest chance of being added to the game.
this'd be too broken for any mode, but it'd make for a pretty fun challenge. I hope it somehows sees the light of day eventually

First thought: thered need to be box free zones on the map, similar to rainmaker free zones, so you couldnt just get ALL THE WAY into their spawn
The box is of course cool but It's really fun seeing the kits of the other weapons in the video, since you can tell many are changed. I found Splat Bomb Range Blaster to be pretty much guaranteed ( 5:47 ) but others I couldn't really confirm but appear possible are Torpedo Dynamo Roller, Burst Bomb Grizzco Dualies, Curling Bomb Hero Shot, Splat Bomb VShot, and Burst Bomb Aerospray (even though it sometimes still has Fizzy idk I might just be misunderstanding who's throwing the Burst at 0:35 ) Also it's really funny how enemy players dying rewards you with power eggs sometimes lmao

I’ve been thinking about an idea that weapons could have grind rails or boost pads as their subs or specials
I think they should have a timer about double suction bomb before exploding with 50 damage a only one at a time to prevent people getting to unfair places
I can see something like this working where it's a small gusher with the same height as the boxes there and only being able to place one like sprinklers.
Maybe being super easy to break.
Though probably would break many maps in s3 lol
So maybe it could be more of a s4 thing
Interesting concept.
But makes redundant having a walls that you cannot ink and if maps are kept the same, the meta would shift instantly to the weapons that do have the one sub that bypasses routes.
i feel like it needs something like it acts like enemy ink if it was thrown by an enemy, with like a shorter jump
maybe it also bursts with a small radius of ink (very small) when broken, or maybe naturally decays over time
i think keeping it team neutral provides a downside enough. it allows you to destroy your own boxes, and if you don't, the other team could also use them.

Make it have the color of the team that placed it, but also have the box be solidified ink so the enemy can use it without sinking into it. Perhaps like an ice block.
This would be extremely cool, if a little broken sometimes. I would probably want to add a limit to the amount of boxes you could have out at once.
If they existed, we all know they’d be exclusively given to weapons that have little use for flanking.

Absolutely broken. Not because they're necessarily powerful. The map design and lack of inkable walls in Splat 3 makes them too good for taking routes you were not intended to.
