I decided to leave this out of the video, but I'll say it here: **Don't worry about your gear!!** Until you're amongst the greatest players on the planet, your gear won't be the reason you're losing. Just use whatever you feel comfortable with while you improve! Only once you feel like you're at the top of your game should you consider it a hindrance. Thank you for watching!
I used to have a “blame everyone but myself” mindset in Splatoon 2, and I was always losing, raging, and simply not having fun. Eventually, I learned to focus more on my own individual performance, and not let myself get unnecessarily tilted at everything. When Splatoon 3 came out, I started winning more and genuinely having fun. Mindset is a huge part of improvement!!!
I can't help but blame my teammates still, i just always find myself thinking "WHY DID THAT IDIOT FAIL TO SEE THE FLANKER?" or "HOW DID YOU MISS THE BASKET IT WAS RIGHT THERE?!" and i just find my teammates fail me, i don't even know if i'm good or terrible at the game because wether i win or not feels entirely out of my control and the only explanation i find are my teammates.
The thing is that your Teammates are important if you want to win. If all your 3 Teammates are bad it is really hard to defeat all 4 enemies all by yourself. So remember, find people who can play with you. You can blame others. But also you should criticize yourself to improve your gameplay.
I think another thing is to not get tilted at yourself. If all you feel is anger towards yourself for losing or making mistakes, it will make your mental plumet and think you'll never get good and you'll just give up on the game
Don't use your specials all at once! Stagger your specials to get full effectiveness out of each of them, and to displace enemies for longer. ie; using booyah bomb to stall and push back enemies, then use a crab tank further ahead to further push back and potentially kill opponents who are still caught off guard, all the while your team can move forwards, and put pressure onto enemies.
You're absolutely right! Drawing out your team's pressure as long as possible is crucial to successful pushes, especially in fast modes like Clam Blitz or Rainmaker! I chose to simplify it to just "use your specials together" in this video, since I aimed it towards newer players in solo queue who might pop their specials selfishly. But you're right - at higher levels there are better strategies to special usage, including staggering. Thank you for your comment! 🙏
I agree with this but without a way to communicate with a random player is pretty hard to pull off. I'm still pretty new. Is there anyway to communicate with random players while playing ranked ?
@@inkheadmarley4239 Unfortunately there is no way to get your teammates to coordinate with you, but you can make an effort to coordinate with your teammates
dude i've watched so many of these "how to improve" or "how to get better" videos for splatoon, but this is the best one by far. you''re very straight to the point. i literally felt my brain grow x2 LOL,, thanks man!
You know the advice is great, when its advice is helping me in Splatoon 1 to be better. Really shows the series has Universal Skill that carries into each installment kinda like Tekken😅
“Dying is the single worst thing you can do “ Me with an average death count of 15 in ranked games and also questioning how I’m S+0 lol 😅 But seriously dying is not good at all like said in the video you need pressure, only reason I have high deaths is because I’m aggressive and have lots of quick jump speed and respawn in my gear. I agree with most of the video , keep up the hard work !
in splatoon 2 you wouldn't reach S+ but in splatoon 3 enough time you will reach S+.... I'm in C+ in S3 and I'm being matched with S and S+... that didn't happen in splatoon 2 🤷🏼
also, while watching you're gameplay. Movement is always important, but you can also slow down sometimes. From watching you play, you move too much and don't always stop to think about what you're doing.
A big tip Ive found to help me, that you bring up If a weapon or special seems to catch you out all the time Try using that weapon/special, and see how enemies deal with you
Phenomenal video, not just for Splatoon, but for improvement in general. I started improving a lot in Smash for instance when I realized the importance of exploiting your character’s strengths and your opponents weaknesses and not giving them what they want.
Same with smash I used to suck so bad, ended up playing who I really wanted too and now I win sometimes lol it helps I main Palu and aegis, some Zelda if it's needed lol
This video has no reason to be this well-edited and have a good and convincing voice over, yet it does. Thank you so much! This helps me going throigh my current Splatoon burnout
This helped me a lot it let me realize that I do tunnel vision and zone out a lot and that I need to focus on only a few weapons instead of the full scale
I am struggling getting into S+ for the first time ever, thanks to your video I learned so many things about the mindset and now I will just keep trying and never give up. Thanks again, the video was very helpful.
"Never Give Up" is the advice i wanted to ear. I already knew the majors parts of your guide. Your video was very interesting and instructive to watch. Thank you and see ya in the ink. 😄
As an amateur, I made a video with tips for new players a few weeks back, and while I didn’t get as detailed, it’s really cool to see a pro say the same kinds of things. Makes me feel more assured that my tips are good
Thank you so much. I may have been playing for a long time, but I never really stopped to think that I may have been mindlessly playing without coming up with an idea or strategy. You've helped me so much!
I just got into s+0, and unlocked x battles. played my placement matches and I think I won one. I got extremely tilted, worst I've felt about playing in a while. my teammate had a similar experience the day before, and I immediately felt better. just remember that you aren't alone, whether you're on a comp team or not. there will always be someone who is feeling the same way. shoutout to suletta (my teammate), you're real one 🤝 good luck everyone!
Got burnt out on 3 really fast as well bc the games basically the same as 2. Taking a break really does help and i found myself playing better by not playing at all ironically
I want to thank you for this post. I have been playing Splatoon 3 since its release and I gotta admit, I wasn’t really good at it. Aiming was very hard for me and finding my style of weapon was always a challenge. I would try a weapon out to get a feel of it and immediately disregard it right afterwards. Eventually I had an interest for the Aerospray RG and ranked it up to 4 stars. Now it did help me win some battles (mainly turf war) but I still wasn’t decently good or at least the level of where I wanted to be. I struggled in Anarchy battle and could never get past C rank. I finally got fed up and looked up sources and booked up on your channel. I paid attention, took your advice and gave it another try to actually try out the weapons and learned the chunks system. I finally found my weapon. Splattershot Nova and got it to rank 4 star. I am now decent at the game and elevated myself to rank A in Anarchy battle, and heavily grinding to reach S+. Thank you for your guidance and my apologies for the long paragraph 🙏🏾
been playing ranked for 5 years and found it reassuring that I was doing everything good that you mentioned. I still have so much to learn but I now found the confidence I need when pushing and supporting, thanks!
Just played in my first tournament that ended with the opposing team defeating us on the last match all using Undercover Brellas & subsequently in-sync dabbing on us at the defeat screen 😭 The circumstances behind it were very last minute tho & my teammates varied pretty notably in experience + the stakes were low, so I’m not really upset - still, it showed I have a ways to go & I think your tips will be really helpful - gonna spend a lot more time analyzing past matches & letting others give feedback as well. Thanks so much!
Oh man- mentioning that newbies forget their special and sub is soooo true! I started playing Splatoon during the first Splatfest, Rock vs Paper vs Sissors, and I *ALWAYS* forgot that I could use my sub and special! I’ve been playing the game for a few months now though and I’ve been playing with friends, rewatching gameplay and of course, taking breaks! I was actually terrified of playing ranked a few weeks ago (besides Splat Zones, cuz Splat Zones is fun lol), but thanks to my friends I’ve been getting more familiar with Clam Blitz, Tower Control and Rain Maker! I moved up to B- yesterday and it feels really rewarding despite not really getting any perks out of it xD Me and my friends also love watching each other’s replays or our replays that we’ve played together- it really is great looking from someone else pov or someone looking at your pov to improve! I did actually take a break from the game during the Pokemon Splatfest, mainly because I had joystick drift on my left joycon and it was really frustrating to play and it’s probably the reason why I raged quit from the game since I couldn’t play properly, but either way it was a good break to focus on other things! I was then given a pro controller for Christmas so I was able to play properly again! But thennn I took another break and didn’t really participate in the Spicy vs Sweet vs Sour Splatfest and the Chocolate Splatfest (though my friends tell me it’s good I didn’t participate since those two Splatfests were apparently hell lmao) BUT yeah breaks are always helpful !! I’m not sure why I wrote so much- oops, great video though and will definitely keep your points in mind!
I’ve been trying to get better as a hydra splatling main, and this video really helped! It’s also a weapon that has very obvious strengths and weaknesses so at least that was easy lol
Something I heard from a video when I was learning overwatch is to constantly narrate to yourself what you are currently doing and why. It really helped me gain awareness of what i was doing and what was going on in the game. It's easier for me at least to process what is going on when learning a game when I do this, it's kinda weird.
Wow, not only the gameplay was amazing but also the tips! Excuse me for a second but holy shit, this was by far the most helpful video i've seen for probably anything ever! I've greatly improved my skills for Splatoon after seeing this and have such a greater appreciation for the game now. Thanks!
I just want to thank you for this excellent video. Your positive attitude and well thought out philosophy truly hit home. I’ve never played first or third person shooters. It is completely outside of my comfort zone. But I love paint and ink and have s2 a shot. It is now my favorite game! I only started in April so I have a long way to go and much more to learn but this video backed up my perception that if I persevere, I will grow as a player. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Thanks again
Fantastic video. It's also a good idea to use Recon mode to check your weapon range. This will help you find good defensive / offensive or platforming positions for your weapon on each map - especially useful for figuring where you're most effective during a push or defence. You'll sometimes be surprised at what areas you can reach - or not quite reach! - with certain weapons.
I just got this game last friday, and this guide really helped me. I played a lot Splatoon 1 and 2 and this really helped me get back into the swing of things. Thank you Cookie!
I know I'm late but I find this video very helpful to not just my skills but my mental health too. As a splatana player, it's very difficult to win most interactions. Especially in higher rank, I would start to get very frustrated at everything in the game which would cause me to get angry at everything irl. I love to draw but if I'm in a mood, I can't focus on it.
I main the splatlings, Splatoon 2 I was the mini, in 3 I’m the heavy. So as the heavy I have sprinkler, don’t underestimate the sprinkler. If someone comes up behind me and I didn’t see them I can throw down a sprinkler and move for a more comfortable range. The sprinkler can also ink their feet slowing them down just enough for me to do a partial charge and splat them. Wave breaker is my favorite special on any splatting I’ve ever played. I have try to throw it in annoying places that forces enemies away from the objective. I’ve also used it as bait, throwing it right under my feet to lure enemies to come within my range. Once they are in range it’s either my weapon or the wave breaker that will splat them. I’ve also taken note of my weaknesses and one of them is short range combat, I’ve dealt with this by moving from a back line position to a mid line position, so I can practice when people get uncomfortably close. Snipers are another weakness to me as they usually out range me, I try to support my team so a front line or faster weapon can splat them, or if that’s not working then I will try to move up to splat them and quickly move back to my position. I never stand in one spot for the whole match, I try to move around behind my team to protect our coverage and our base. Some guns also out range me like the jet but I try to go around that by pressing on them with another teammate and since my fire rate is faster I can do more damage before they do I will be the one who can walk away from it.
I've been playing since the first game. During the time splatoon 2 was very active I joined a team that I still play with. One of the really useful tactics we've learned besides doing callouts is to have our leaders announce a form of play to better oranganize ourselves. Some of those would be yelling offense. offensive painting, defensive, and defensive painting. Depending on the gamestate each of these have their own use. These have tactics have helped us win scrimmages more often.
nice video. I'm new to splatoon, starting with 3. The game is so fun, and i love nintendos take on a shooter with the very unique mechanics of the game. I just hit 100 hours and was able to get to S rank, but wow, getting to S+ is a completely different game. Gonna try to use these tips to get better and learn to carry so I can get into S+
I’ve been playing Splatoon for years and this was still very helpful. I’ve been stuck at S rank for a while and I really want to get to X Rank thank you so much
Here’s a tip: don’t worry too much about your clothing abilities. Just find what looks good. Because what I have found is that abilities don’t do much.
Naw man it makes a huge difference in ranked. An eliter with respawn publisher or a tetras with stacked quick respawn is a game changer. But it's only recommended for those fully committed and quiet high up in the ranks (S-X ranks)
It actually does help a lot. I always make sure to have lots of abilities to help with ink consumption because I often find myself with an empty tank when I don’t have the abilities. I also main weapons with suction bomb which takes up so much ink to use. Ink saver sub on my gear can be so beneficial.
the bits of shade here and there made me chuckle bro HAHA thanks for the tips 🙏 I'm a fairly new player and I've done a handful of games but I still had no idea what I was doing. I think I've got a better approach now thanks to this vid
Returned to this video again now that I’m picking up competitive again and it’s just soooo trueee when it comes to breaks. Since starting college I stopped playing for literal months and came back since summer break started and I’ve been enjoying the game again, plus I feel like I’m becoming a better sniper lol. It was much needed and I feel more comfortable playing when I used to literally play every single day for hours after school and during the summer 😭
In my experience, the best way to learn how to go against a weapon is to play it yourself, even if only for a little bit. If you have trouble against sloshing machine, use it for a while to learn the ins and outs of it. You nay notice (how the weapon is absolute bullsh-) that sloshing machine is a slow weapon, and it is also pretty ink hungry. Something that I find particularly helpful (because I am the resident rager) is to play turf war or some singleplayer in order to cool off. I personally don't cool off just by putting the game down. I just *have to* keep playing to have that 1 or 2 matches that get my mood up. Turf war can help with this due to the fact that it is mostly occupied by players of lower skill, which makes it easier to make your end performance look better, which in turn makes me feel better. Singleplayer helps because of the same reason of it being easier than playing ranked. It also has the upside of making you accept that any mistakes you might make are because of yourself.
I've been playing this game since the first one came out and have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I clicked immediately on this video. Not because I'm wrong but because I thought this video said "How to get *food*". It was an enjoyable and shockingly intricate video well worth the time either way. Hopefully, we will get a method to obtain multiple drink and food tickets. I need them desperately.
Here's a tip. I hear a lot of people say that motion controls are the true superior way to play. But unless you're super high level, it doesn't matter all that much. Just, if you play stick controls, put the sensitivity on the higher end.
Thanks to your vids I've learned that im at my best while being an anchor to the team, found my favourite handful of weapon sets and learned how to help the team overall. Your vids have great value not even for new players but to anyone who wants to play Splatoon (and yeah, pretty much everything said about the prev games transfers to Splatoon 3). If any of my friends get into Splatoon i definitely will recommend them your channel, thanks a lot for your input to the community
i love this video dude i was listening to it while playing and literally started applying the tips slightly while playing i felt myself get better😭😭im really bad at all video games in general but i really really love splatoon so i wanna get passable/decent
It's literally just a time and experience thing. I'm generally better so I get the gawks of awe when I'm playing with others. While they may see me as a gahd who constantly grinds for harder challenges, they simply don't know that I've been playing say, tekken since I was a kid. Mechanical skill is roughly 10% of being gud. The other 90% is understanding the game, how it's being played, and how you can change the variables into ur favor. Such as splatoons where a viable S+0 strat is waiting for your teammates to use special or be in position so you can use yours. Keep at it my guy, just try to understand the game more than wats typical of ur rank and you'll climb atleast weekly. We'll up to S rank that is. Then I'll see you around 👀
Thank you so much for posting this! I feel like I really got a lot out of these tips. I also appreciate the way you explained things slowly and methodically with visuals. I'm a visual learner, so I find that very helpful. 🙂
Thank you so much for this guide and giving us an idea on what to look for when we want to improve, I'll make sure to keep those things in mind as I've been trying to do it in some aspect s but ignoring others. It'd be great to see another video going more in depth onto each weapon strong and weak aspects! Thank you once again and I'm looking forward for your future videos c:
this video is good advice for other comp shooter games as well, the main points mostly apply (positioning is key, practice, don't get tilted etc etc...)
I would love to see you either make a video or a list on weapons with similar styles like you did at 12:30 for the splattershot pro! I personally really like using the splattershot nova and splat charger and would love to know what different weapons I can branch out to!
Here’s a tip for tri strike: if you learn to throw the strikes so they all land at the same time, you will make the special more likely to splat whoever you’re throwing it at. The way I do it is I throw the first one up in a high arc, then the other two get thrown in lower and lower arcs so they all go off at the same time. By doing this, the players you force to move have to dodge left or right, if they don’t they get splatted.
something from someone who has played all 3 games from the start : when he says not to rush without ur teammates that's not the best thing to do from my experience it depends on the weapons lets say u use e-litre its a very good idea to rush in to get enemies ,if u have something of maybe carbon deco u should stay back and 'clean' cover the space) instead of rushing as roller has that main job
15:46 jokes on u this weapon became broken for how the kit and the main weapon is heavily focused on painting and special spam jk btw also I'm sending this to my friends too bc this helped me a lot, thanks to these tips I got from S+0 with -4000 points at the beginning of 2023 to the top 500 player, my bad habit was to die and keep feeding and not recognising the problem bc at the time I used to main tetra dualies and so see this flaw something not to correct bc I was running tons of QR, basically tunnel vision
Going through S rank into S+0 you really have to start thinking how your weapon & special can support your team. I play Heavy Splatling with a few off weapons for different modes/maps, but I try to give my front liners room to poke (laying down suppressive fire, making sure they have ink under their feet in a fight, throwing a sprinkler to meat shield for them). There are games where I have to be the main kill threat, and there's games where I have to stay alive just to give a good jump point, but the easiest way to rank up is playing selflessly to fill the role your team needs in that specific comp.
Great vid. This has helped me a lot. I have 500 hours in splat 2 and used to be quite GUD but recently in splat 3 I’ve been getting tilted after loosing a game which has made me loose more but this vid has helped me focus and not get tilted whilst playing and the tips also improved my gameplay
Nah, give it time. It's mostly about habit-forming. Your brain will automatically optimize those neural pathways once you have learned them and use them frequently.
I am so thankful that i watched this. I had a bad mindset leaving Splatoon 2 and i finally got splatoon 3 about a month ago and on level 13 and c- And as a splooshomatic main im glad i got good tips
Competition sucks the fun away from anything , it's not playing to have fun.. it's playing to win lol it's hard to get the right mindset but it comes with practice. Good video
I was genuinely feeling depressed for underperforming in the latest splatfest, but now I understand that I should take time and try to improve my playstyle instead of being negative 24/7
Another thing that I find really useful as a new player is figuring out *why* I like my main weapon so much. I main the Aerospray, because it has good ink saving, and I get consistent splats with it, even if it's terrible for long range. I love the fizzy bomb, because even if it's less likely to splat players than the other bombs, it leaves a trail that I can swim down and charge up ink. It's helped me get out of a tough spot where I would've been splatted, and even if I get splatted, it can still go off 3 times and splat someone even when I'm already down. I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE the Reefslider, because it covers a decent area, while being easy to charge up in most cases. I can use it when i see an enemy distracted, and I've been able to splat 3 players at once (ESPECIALLY in anarchy battles or splatfest 3-team turf wars.)
Excellent video! I just recently bumped up to A level, and the competition is fierce! What was working for me in B level isn't working anymore, so this video is really helping me figure out what I'm doing wrong and what I need to do to fix it. 👍
When I started I was constantly swapping between weapons trying all weapons untill I found the one that worked for me, after a while I found the paintbrushes, rollers and splatana swippers worked best for me so I swapped between them until I found that I preferred the splatana swipper. So if you had just started playing swap between weapons untill you find 3 that work for you and pick one of them. (This was not that long ago)
Been in a major splatoon burnout for over a year. I bought splatoon 3 (i've been playing splatoon 2 for 4 years) and i'm finally getting back into it but i've realised that i'm a little rusty. Great video and super helpful!
It’s always important to know how you play, and even if that sounds dumb, most people have habits that they don’t realize and it could be hurting your growth. For example, I learned that I play very head on, not really paying much attention to my surroundings. By now I’ve gotten better and I do this less often and it’s helped me to better understand situations in the process
About that part of changing playstyles. Since I got the game my goal was to collect every weapon. And to do that I played with different weapons until I got one star then moved to the next. Focusing on a single weapon was never my thing even if I knew I was better with some weapons rather than others. Like you said solo quque is the worst, because even if you stick to the roll your weapon has its a sure way to lose.
"Everything is a learning experience is losing is part of the process of getting good. As long as you have fun, that's what matters the most." That's my mindset for fighting games, but can be applied for any games you want to learn how to get good on. Having fun matters as much as being motivated to learn!
Ok but seriously golden rule 4: go for the objective! Even if it's just turf war, I've seen way too many players get lazer focused on killing enemies and nothing else. I shouldn't have to say this to anybody but you're not going to win games if you won't do the one thing that decides whether you win or not
12:00-ish I'm very far from being a competitive player, I don't really care about the outcomes of my matches in the grand scheme of things. However I used to main E-liter only, back in my early hours of Splatoon 2. Would not touch any other weapons or the scope version (because of course, I never used them, and didn't want to lose trying to learn), aside from the occasional Luna Blaster, and I play them both nearly identically. Hated using any weapon that would force me into a certain style of fighting that wasn't used to (or required me stay behind the rest of the team to do something useful). ...still punching myself for not using more until about 100 hours in... Now, I've got a few weapons each for a few different play preferences (sometimes modes specifically). Generally: E-liter/Cherry H3/Luna/Carbon/Undercover Brella I can use in basically anything, but mostly in regular turf wars. Splash/Nautilus 47 in Splat Zones/Rainmaker Tri-slosher/Luna/Bamboozler MK3 in Clam Blitz (or Hydra if I just want to mess with the other team) E-liter/Any roller except the regular Splat Roller for Tower, mostly Dynamo/Carbon. Though every now and again, I get stale. So I use something I haven't used in a while (or ever) in a match, just to try something else. Even if it's *definitely* not something that would be useful in that context. Most recently I picked up Explosher, a weapon I never dreamed of using... but I like how I play with it, and it's made the game feel newer to me! If I know who's got what on my team, I try to pick something that won't crowd the back line, or be the back line myself. (...but I don't like back line fighting even with an E-liter. I prefer to be dumb with it and go straight to the front with it, using Ink Mines like an Undercover would, or [the more likely scenario] just not staying on any perches for more than a couple shots. Still afraid to be chased off, so i just jump before I'm in hot water) That being said, I'd rather use a perch on the enemy's side and just be annoying than use my own. Feel like I'm too far away from the action sometimes. Though I have a bad habit of jumping in and trading when I could have just... sat on my perch a few seconds, charged, then tried to aim. I've been fixing that though (: Either way, I've heard "play with the weapons your main is weak against" a few times, that's the entire reason I play so many (because I suck at fighting so many things). I wish I could thank the people that said that, but the only one I remember the name of is Chuggaaconroy, who said it during his Splatoon 1 LP. Oh, and you, so thank you (:
I decided to leave this out of the video, but I'll say it here:
**Don't worry about your gear!!** Until you're amongst the greatest players on the planet, your gear won't be the reason you're losing. Just use whatever you feel comfortable with while you improve! Only once you feel like you're at the top of your game should you consider it a hindrance.
Thank you for watching!

I agree but I definitely like to change up with the way I play

the E liter bit got me. perfect professional tact through the entire video then a punch out of nowhere. Perfect.

It never happens to me in 4v4. But in salmon run it happens because no one sticks together and I always get the most revives. I’m the medic lol 😂
i remember when i would get splatted i got every reason to accuse them of hacking 😂
I think another thing is to not get tilted at yourself. If all you feel is anger towards yourself for losing or making mistakes, it will make your mental plumet and think you'll never get good and you'll just give up on the game
That happened to me about a year ago. Not a good thing, I can tell you that.

“Dying is the single worst thing you can do “
Me with an average death count of 15 in ranked games and also questioning how I’m S+0 lol 😅
But seriously dying is not good at all like said in the video you need pressure, only reason I have high deaths is because I’m aggressive and have lots of quick jump speed and respawn in my gear. I agree with most of the video , keep up the hard work !
Quick respawn helps alot especially being a pressure fire or great hit and assist player or the Quick jump to acts has a reinforcements
in splatoon 2 you wouldn't reach S+ but in splatoon 3 enough time you will reach S+.... I'm in C+ in S3 and I'm being matched with S and S+... that didn't happen in splatoon 2 🤷🏼

As a top 500 player, these are actually good tips! Good job!
also, while watching you're gameplay. Movement is always important, but you can also slow down sometimes. From watching you play, you move too much and don't always stop to think about what you're doing.
Top 500 in which region and mode?
@@shrekthe55thsharkking Rainmaker, north America
how do you check if you are in the top 500
Iirc the game just straight up tells you
A big tip Ive found to help me, that you bring up
If a weapon or special seems to catch you out all the time
Try using that weapon/special, and see how enemies deal with you
Focus on Positioning! I totally agree. Like for charger I often hear "I need better aim" but good positioning alone can extreamly pressure the enemys.
Took so long to learn my matchups though palu doesn't have many losing ones, she can still get cheesed unexpectedly
This video has no reason to be this well-edited and have a good and convincing voice over, yet it does. Thank you so much! This helps me going throigh my current Splatoon burnout
"Dying is the single worse thing to happen to you"
Tetras, inkbrush and splatanas: "are you sure about that"
yes
You make it to s yet?
15:45 This aged well, snipewriter 5h is one of the best cooler/backline options in comp rn
Scratch that, it's the single most meta weapon in the game.
been playing ranked for 5 years and found it reassuring that I was doing everything good that you mentioned. I still have so much to learn but I now found the confidence I need when pushing and supporting, thanks!
Just played in my first tournament that ended with the opposing team defeating us on the last match all using Undercover Brellas & subsequently in-sync dabbing on us at the defeat screen 😭
The circumstances behind it were very last minute tho & my teammates varied pretty notably in experience + the stakes were low, so I’m not really upset - still, it showed I have a ways to go & I think your tips will be really helpful - gonna spend a lot more time analyzing past matches & letting others give feedback as well.
I moved up to B- yesterday and it feels really rewarding despite not really getting any perks out of it xD
Me and my friends also love watching each other’s replays or our replays that we’ve played together- it really is great looking from someone else pov or someone looking at your pov to improve!
You kinda just play it like a high ink coverage charger
Loved the tips, especially being mindful of your teammates and not getting tunnel vision :D!
I just got this game last friday, and this guide really helped me. I played a lot Splatoon 1 and 2 and this really helped me get back into the swing of things. Thank you Cookie!
Can’t tell you how much this has helped me and my mates. I stop getting angry and we win more than we lose, now. Thankyou!
Hello from a friend of a friend, mindset is truely one of the most important things for improving at anything.
Didnt expect to see voided in this video lol, guess the aus scene is just small. Awesome vid and amazing points!
I’ve been stuck at S rank for a while and I really want to get to X Rank thank you so much
I mean you 100% gotta stay calm, even while being ambushed, and remember these games are for FUN. Not competition
I’d say this is best general improvement guide I’ve seen for Splatoon since #3 dropped.
ye
Here’s a tip: don’t worry too much about your clothing abilities. Just find what looks good. Because what I have found is that abilities don’t do much.
Naw man it makes a huge difference in ranked. An eliter with respawn publisher or a tetras with stacked quick respawn is a game changer. But it's only recommended for those fully committed and quiet high up in the ranks (S-X ranks)
Don’t do this 😭
They do really help, but if you're failing, it's probably not because of your gear
It actually does help a lot. I always make sure to have lots of abilities to help with ink consumption because I often find myself with an empty tank when I don’t have the abilities. I also main weapons with suction bomb which takes up so much ink to use. Ink saver sub on my gear can be so beneficial.
bruh what?
the bits of shade here and there made me chuckle bro HAHA thanks for the tips 🙏 I'm a fairly new player and I've done a handful of games but I still had no idea what I was doing. I think I've got a better approach now thanks to this vid
1:56 both 5 star splash and machine? this guy must play squeezer and pencil now
14:12 Bro did the E-liters dirty 💀
This was very helpful, I would recommend this video to anyone that's starting to play Online matches on Splatoon, good job man!
What an excellent video! Thank you so much!
You can always upgrade to mouse and keyboard.
@Mistery Misterio I don't think Splatoon supports that. Or is that a PC master race joke?
@@Sacren365 Not officially. But you can do it anyway.
Great advice! It's always good to have reminders when you feel like you're in a rut.
i love this video dude i was listening to it while playing and literally started applying the tips slightly while playing i felt myself get better😭😭im really bad at all video games in general but i really really love splatoon so i wanna get passable/decent
The pencil comment at 15:45 aged well.
regretfully so
something from someone who has played all 3 games from the start : when he says not to rush without ur teammates that's not the best thing to do from my experience it depends on the weapons lets say u use e-litre its a very good idea to rush in to get enemies ,if u have something of maybe carbon deco u should stay back and 'clean' cover the space) instead of rushing as roller has that main job
15:46 jokes on u this weapon became broken for how the kit and the main weapon is heavily focused on painting and special spam
jk btw also I'm sending this to my friends too bc this helped me a lot, thanks to these tips I got from S+0 with -4000 points at the beginning of 2023 to the top 500 player, my bad habit was to die and keep feeding and not recognising the problem bc at the time I used to main tetra dualies and so see this flaw something not to correct bc I was running tons of QR, basically tunnel vision
Crazy to see the progress of my favourite tenatek player cookie
This is what I wanted to know while other "how-to" splatoon videos are too specific.
Thank you.
Playing while listening:
"Stay alive"
I died 10 seconds into a new battle on that same sentence
Such a good coaching video i havent seen a better video like this for any other game
Bro my brain is too slow to did split second decisions
Nah, give it time. It's mostly about habit-forming. Your brain will automatically optimize those neural pathways once you have learned them and use them frequently.
I am so thankful that i watched this. I had a bad mindset leaving Splatoon 2 and i finally got splatoon 3 about a month ago and on level 13 and c- And as a splooshomatic main im glad i got good tips
The unexpected ELiter diss lmao, had to plah it back to be sure I've heard right
Great guide man. Ive been getting wrekt at splatoon comp still beinf a newbie but will take this and hopefully improve
Competition sucks the fun away from anything , it's not playing to have fun.. it's playing to win lol it's hard to get the right mindset but it comes with practice. Good video
Im glad i got this recommended. Ive been recently trying to get back into splatoon
i hate when people tell me to "just practice" because i dont know *WHAT* to practice! this video finally helps me know though!
I was genuinely feeling depressed for underperforming in the latest splatfest, but now I understand that I should take time and try to improve my playstyle instead of being negative 24/7
2:55 Zipcaster people when they hear that: 👁👄👁
Another thing that I find really useful as a new player is figuring out *why* I like my main weapon so much.
14:19 damn, dont call me out like that ._.
thank you for this video, I have heard a lot of advice on mentality but the way you said it really resonated with me.
Amazing vid! Thank you for making this! 🎉❤
Excellent video! I just recently bumped up to A level, and the competition is fierce! What was working for me in B level isn't working anymore, so this video is really helping me figure out what I'm doing wrong and what I need to do to fix it. 👍
"While great players win 2v1's, only legends win 1v2's"- Senzu, art of turf war
Thx for this guide. Your words not only apply herd of course but to other competitive games as well. Best.
Good video! Well put together 🔥
You're heavily underrated. Only 1.5k subs?? You should have 100k!
No way it's the -dualies- tentatek guy!! I am so happy with this information
(This was not that long ago)
dont die..what a wonderful advise
Like you said solo quque is the worst, because even if you stick to the roll your weapon has its a sure way to lose.
i listened to this video like it was life advice rather than splatoon advice and it helped me
I love this video, thanks for this. Also not me forgetting most of these for the last month 😭
I shouldn't have to say this to anybody but you're not going to win games if you won't do the one thing that decides whether you win or not
My enemies focus on killing only me, it seems 😂
12:00-ish
I'm very far from being a competitive player, I don't really care about the outcomes of my matches in the grand scheme of things.
However
I used to main E-liter only, back in my early hours of Splatoon 2.
Generally:
E-liter/Cherry H3/Luna/Carbon/Undercover Brella I can use in basically anything, but mostly in regular turf wars.
Splash/Nautilus 47 in Splat Zones/Rainmaker
Tri-slosher/Luna/Bamboozler MK3 in Clam Blitz (or Hydra if I just want to mess with the other team)
E-liter/Any roller except the regular Splat Roller for Tower, mostly Dynamo/Carbon.
Still afraid to be chased off, so i just jump before I'm in hot water)
That being said, I'd rather use a perch on the enemy's side and just be annoying than use my own. Feel like I'm too far away from the action sometimes.
Though I have a bad habit of jumping in and trading when I could have just... sat on my perch a few seconds, charged, then tried to aim. I've been fixing that though (:
Either way, I've heard "play with the weapons your main is weak against" a few times, that's the entire reason I play so many (because I suck at fighting so many things).
I wish I could thank the people that said that, but the only one I remember the name of is Chuggaaconroy, who said it during his Splatoon 1 LP.
Oh, and you, so thank you (:
I tried splatoon for the first time today and OH MY GOD,I LOVE THIS GAME ALREADY!
14:22 we heard that
