That has got to be the best Bill Murray face sculpt/paint apps on a figure I've seen yet. Good find, Michael! This is why I prefer going to the toy store and choosing the figures I want, especially the ones with better paint apps, or with no blemishes or stray paint smudges.
That's awesome how you grew up in the '80s and you were able to experience all the 80s goodies when they first came out. I grew up in the 90s and I couldn't imagine what it was like to see the original Ghostbusters in theater when it first came out and even the second one for sure. I definitely bought this Hasbro series 1 set of 6. I personally love this set and happy with it. That's what I ended my collecting journey with. Thanks for the good reviews as always truly.
I would love to see a figure of the EPA’s top man Walter Peck added to, well, any line of GB figures. Maybe even a two figure set-they could add the guy from ConEdison that shuts down the containment unit. Great video Michael!
For the price of these 6 figures i bought the entire playmobil line in an amazon sale. i'm not a playmo fan, but these are just cool and complete with playsets.

I hope the success of the REAL Ghostbusters re-issues makes Hasbro considering making more unmade figures like gozar, Dana, Louis and the terror dog in that classic kenner style.
I got these and I like them. I didn't buy 4 winstons but I did buy the "old man" versions of the surviving ghostbusters which each come with a proton stream so now everyone has one. I also ended up making my own ecto by picking up an ambulance designed for wrestling figures and applying some "no ghost" logo stickers I already had. There is an area on it where I would love to add black and yellow caution stripes but for now it works. To me it looks like something the Ghostbusters might actually have made.
There’s definitely room for improvement, but I don’t think Hasbro is done yet. I’m hoping a second wave rounds out the cast of the first movie and gives us a couple ghosts. After that they can jump to Ghostbusters 2, Afterlife, RGB, or even Extreme GB, plus all the variants Mattel and Diamond Select did.
Mattel, DST and Hasbro have all made a "No Dana, only Zuul" figure. Maybe I'm boring, but I'd like a regular Dana figure, maybe based on her first scene. They could even include accessories like the Marshmallow bag, the egg carton and grocery bag.

Michael, thank you for your honest and balanced review. I don’t have anything from the original Plasma line, but I have a few of the Ghostbusters Plasma Afterlife line. They have their limitations, but I can live with them.
Thats my problem with toys and toys companies today. They never want to risk giving buyers a complete line or experience. Im trying to get into Marvel Legends now but it so difficult to get the figures I want.
Not only does having a piece of the terror dog in each box remove the possibility of an effects piece, but if you want 2 terror dogs you'll have to buy another set of figures
These are awesome! I have the 4 guys and Gozer...I need Dana Barrett to complete Vinz Clortho and the wave. I will say these are not the best 1984 Ghostbusters figures; I'd give that to the Mezco One 12: Collective ones, but for a retail release these Hasbro ones are great. Not to mention the Egon head sculpt is fantastic; probably my favorite head sculpt of the wave by far.
I was lucky enough to find a whole set to view and enjoy but the price to take them all home I had to say no. They do look great in hand.😁👍 Congratulations on getting a full set.👍
Those MOTU origin figures won’t be coming to stores till the fall as far as I know, He-man and Skeletor were released online out of nowhere and scalpers got the lot of them, they come in stock online if your lucky for a couple minutes till the super fans that have been hitting the refresh button for days or the scalpers buy them up again, I suggest waiting till the fall
I have 2 of the Ghostbusters and plan to get the other 2 soon. I don't really care for the Gozer figure...is it worth getting the other 2 mostly for the Build-a-Fig?
I can't believe that hasbro has made a massive ecto one but its to small for the bloody figures! It's in a 3.75 scale, and I'm gutted, I don't understand why they have done it this way, it's like a kick in the teeth as a ghostbusters collector, I feel let down to be honest.
I saw Ray and Venkman at my local Target by accident then went home and purchased the rest of the figures on Amazon. I'm very happy with them. The likenesses are pretty spot on. Those Mattel figures are just embarrassing. Although I agree that it's ridiculous only Winston has a Proton Stream I am happy with these figures. Every fan should get pick them up
The Proton Stream issue seems to be one that has plagued GB toys since the beginning. With the Kenner and Diamond Select streams being the most fragile things in existence, to the Mattel and Hasbro streams only being included with certain figures.
There is a Louis Tully and second terror dog box set in this line called “Tully’s Terrible night” on eBay for about $100. It was a Pulsecon exclusive that isn’t very well known.
You tried looking for the MOTU Origins line? Well that sounds like a neat video topic. Those Plasma figures look nice for the most part. Although the faces getting iffy and there not being enough accessories is kinda disappointing. I’m hoping there will be an accessory pack for the missing ones, but I haven’t really noticed much of those for collectors lines for most collectors lines lately, so the chances aren’t super high. Nicely done video overall 👍.

It's a shame the toy company won't go the extra mile and make an actor one for these figures considering they make Star Wars Black Series vehicles for figures, well some of them. And yet Playmobil did the ecto-1 and the firehouse.
They look nice, I collect figures for display so I don't mind about if they don't have play sets, but when I try to get the ghostbusters I'll try to get the Mezco pack.
If the hands weren't sculpted with trigger fingers for some bizarre and pointless reason and the left wrists articulation went a different way, they would be able to hold the wands fine. Why on earth Hasbro gave them hard sculpted trigger hands is beyond me. Unless it was a mold from another toyline they used to save money?
I'm curious on your thoughts for the newer SW Black series figures, with the new face scan technology. I steered clear of this line for years, but as of late 2018 I've abandoned 3.75 for 6". Hasbro's distribution remains problematic, but Black Series quality is now on par with some of the Japanese toy companies.
Hey RB ...what ecto 1 would you recommend to scale with these guys. I went with the plasma series myself because I felt they were good enough as opposed to the more expensive ones. I wouldn’t mind a normal Dana even though that is extremely niche.
the only 2 Ectos I found that are closest in scale are the Lego Afterlife set and the AMC Afterlife popcorn holder but, you cant put the figures inside
i picked up Ghostbusters Afterlife Peter Venkman the older version he looks real good Peter always been my favorite i like to get the Diamond select Real Ghostbusters. The plasma series Afterlife figures all the Ghostbusters new and old get proton streams

The Diamond Select line was far superior to this line. The Plasma Series has its positives, but the Ray face sculpt is terrible. And the lack of proton streams is really frustrating

Four years later, and Hasbro will this month announce a 6" scale Ecto 1 will be their next Haslab.

They'll probably make a set with one each, thus forcing you buy three sets to fully deck everyone out. And probably for no less than $20 each.
I've screamed about this for SW Black Series as well... sorely needed.. extra heads, hands, accessories, weapons, etc.
They are, its 4 proton streams(Why 4?) an extra pke and 3 traps.

Me too. The best thing about those are the movie accurate proton packs, which should be swappable with the Kenner figures.
It makes sense that Playmobil would be the more play-capable toys. Otherwise, they’d be called “Collectmobil.”
As a big GB fan I still prefer the Diamond Selects. I do agree on the Playmobil set being AMAZING.

Definitely more accessories required BUT overall, these are the best 6" Ghostbusters I could imagine.. If they had had these back in the 1980's OMG..

Picked up the entire wave for Christmas on Walmart Clearance. Got really lucky with each figure having great paint apps.
The set I picked up looks great. It's amazing how far figures have come since the 80s TRGB ones...

No. You can get the exact same Terror dog with Louis Tully for about 25 bucks.

The proton streams I own all broke due to the weight not being supported by the wand, I don’t display them with it
