Oh boy I have THINGS TO SAY cause I ADORE THIS!!! It may get long and repetitive but oh my goodness I gotta talk about it. I love how the lyrics were used in connection to the characters?? It helps that this particular song is a favorite of mine, and the connections used were just SO DAMN GOOD!! Some specifics that stood out to me include but are not limited to: “I know that wicked shape to your smile…” SUCH a good line for Remus! When he was there for that one there was a lot of happy stimming; it was a very good choice. “…as it pleases you lover..” Top tier Roman choice, loving the “lover” connection. “At sea, or deep within the catacombs.” I thought this one was interesting for Logan in this particular shot, cause it really looks like he’s in some underground library. It helps push the “catacombs” bit. “..the sundered sea of red and reed.” ADORE that one with Patton. This song has a lot of biblical and Christian references and connections, with this line being one of the most direct (referencing the Red Sea). I don’t know if that was intentional, but I loved that one of the most direct biblical references was tied with Patton given the whole thing in bloopers of him being like, “Would you like to talk about our lord and savior Jesus Christ?” I just thought it was neat and kinda funny. “The shadow of Hades…” OOO GOOD TIE THERE WITH JANUS. “..for he has cast down Leviathan…” OH BOY MORE HAPPY STIMMING!! (can you tell I have a favorite character?) Remus being referenced as Leviathan is BRILLIANT. With him being seen as this massive threat to be defeated, it just fits really well with how he’s canonically viewed by the others, at least when he’s first introduced. I don’t know if he plays a similar role in this story, but it’s still a wonderful tie, and I LOVE it! Ok, visuals: OO THE TRAVELING SHOTS WITH THE BIRDS LOOK SO GORGEOUS!! The lighting throughout is divine. This whole thing looks so high quality. I love the bits in their eyes?? That’s so cool, and the fact it’s on Remus’s morningstar too fits him. I like how they’re labeled in the book, oooo…. With Logan being mind but Janus being cunning…. Kinda makes me thing Logan is for Intelligence saves and Janus is for Wisdom saves, which I think checks out. (off topic, I’d then put the others as Virgil- Constitution, Patton- Charisma, Roman- Dexterity, Remus- Strength). Describing Remus as “Indulgence” is genuinely a really interesting choice! It fits in a way. Long story short, this is FANTASTIC, and I’d LOVE to know more about this au!

Okay, as an animation student currently going through her last year in the 2d animation major with plans to become a writer and storyboarder for the industry: THANK GOD YOU NAMED THIS AN ***ANIMATION***. I've seen so many 'animatics' with this level of effort but refuse to call itself animation. Even industry-level keyframed animations (such as sequences for TMNT) and boards go by 'animatics' when they're actually WHOLE ANIMATIONS. Seriously, the level of effort, care, focus and editing you've done here, I sincerely believe and am GRATEFUL you labelled this as 'animation' because that's what it is! It's a full-on music video animated and holy crap, I'm proud you've done this and grateful you're calling it by the right name. As my writer's side showing through: the GENIUS of using 'Where Is Your Rider' for your short is downright Shakespearean. I'm not kidding. Seriously, showing the beginning of things where the song hints to the ending of things IN ONE GO? IN LITTLE OVER 3 MINUTES? I've seen it before in Romeo and Juliet Act One Scene One and *mwah* GALAXY BRAINED. I haven't really gotten into Sanders Sides myself (though I have tried, it's just not my thing), but I was there during the vine days. Seriously my dude, you should be proud of yourself and I hope to see more of what you'll do for your stories - original and fanmade!
The temptation to call things like this an animatic are very strong due to it not being fully animated all over even if that is silly. It sort of exists in that limbo state and I know a lot of artists on TH-cam struggle to name their works animations because a while back there was a trend around giving people grief for not having 24 frame a second and calling it animation. That trend has mostly died now thankfully but the anxiety remains. Your comment was a delight to read, got me beaming and embarrassed over here. I hope your final year in animation goes well!! I know it can be stressful as anything so look after yourself. ♥️

this is so utterly gorgeous i am so invested from the moment the the video starts and i want to know so much more as the video ends the way you've built this world is so clever and hooking that leaves me wanting to know everything there is so much story and the song only adds to it it's been while that i've seen a newer sanders sides animation and its amazing i have so many words but can't seem to get them out just stunning
I smell *sniffs* an underrated artist? I know it's cliche but fr, it's criminal that this is this well animated and only has around 350 views. The colours are stunning, the animation more than some other animations with more views, and correct anatomy. I don't know why youtube hasn't recommended this to more people.
