    I'm a returning Catholic. When I came back, I i really didn't understand. I thought the holy communion was Symbol. I was completely wrong. The holy communion is actually the body and blood of jesus christ . I went to a lot of confessions because I was gone for a long time . After my confessions, I put in the holy communion. I go every sunday to mass. I've been back for 9 weeks now . Is so wonderful to go to mass but taking a day holy communion.

    A big thanks to Bishop Pohlmeier for the explanation of why we call our priests 'Father'. (52:30 -53:46) Next to our relationship with Mary, it is one of the hardest titles to explain to my Protestant and Evangelical friends. May God continue to bless your work.🙏

    Fun fact about Catholics in Arkansas
    Edward Mary Fitzgerald was the second Roman Catholic bishop of Little Rock (Pulaski County), overseeing a diocese that encompasses the boundaries of the state of Arkansas. As the most historically significant Arkansas Catholic prelate, he was one of the only bishops in the world, and the only English-speaking one, to vote against papal infallibility. As an Arkansas bishop, he strove to attract Catholic immigrants to the state and sought also to evangelize African Americans; these efforts, however, bore little fruit. St. Edward Catholic Church was named in his honor

    Great show as usual!! It’s so weird that I have never had any problems calling priest Father/Padre. I always thought that it was the fact that I’m a cradle Catholic with a long lineage of Catholicism on both Dad and Mom’s side. The other day I met a cradle Catholic just like me and shared that he sometimes has a hard time calling priest Father. I sometimes called my doctor Father on accident.❤😂

    Priesthood is fascinating because is not only a human thing (Pastoral) but a a divine thing (Theology/Doctrine). Our Church as the Body of Christ and as an Institution is both mystical and extraordinary, because of the way it was formed and organized. There’s no other institution as the Catholic Church, the oldest and the most influential in human civilization and of course in salvation of humanity. I wish we were united as Jesus meant it to be from the beginning to the end: one God, one Faith, one Church (One Body in communion Shepherds and the Flock and one Liturgy where sacredness, reverence and the beauty God deserves rule). It’s really sad to see two different kind of Catholics within our Church: traditional (perennial) and modernists (changeable as the world demands). We are supposed to share the same doctrine, to conform to God’s way and not the world’s way. It’s so simple, it has always been like that, why change? We need to pray so that we learn to love and please God as he deserves and expects. With all due respect I wish to remind the leaders of the Church that the Catholic Church is not their own but Jesus’s. Please stick to his teachings collected in Sacred Scriptures and Sacred Tradition. The Lord knows better, he doesn’t need to be corrected. Just be humble, faithful and courageous to serve God and not the world, and rest assure the flock will follow and support you all the way to even give our lives for you. We love our priests, our Bishops and the Pope. We need you, without you we cannot have access to the sources of grace, healing and knowledge of God for our salvation. Do not abandon us, do not attack us, we are not your enemies but your best fans.🙏🙏🙏

    So, seek the Kingdom of God first is a command we should obey but calling no man father, there are exceptions? Are there exceptions in biblical scripture other than the commandment which pertains to obeying our biological parents? Jesus is very clear in His word and is not deceptive so why does man think he knows better? I am a practicing cradle Catholic but I have lots of questions as I read/study the Holy Bible.

    • @The_Atheist_Carpenter5625
      @The_Atheist_Carpenter5625 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here's how it works:
      Anything you read in the bible that you don't want to believe or accept, you call that a "spiritual metaphor". So like in 1 Samuel 15 where it quotes god as saying "do not spare them, put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys." And you dont want to believe that an omnibenevolent god could explicitly command genocide, you just say it didnt happen, and its only written in the bible as a REALLY convoluted and aggressive allegory for teaching a spiritual lesson about how much god hates sin.
      Now, anything you read in the bible that is a direct quote from god, or jesus is this case like "my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink, he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood shall inherit eternal life". If you as a catholic want to believe that is true, then you just say yes that did happen and its not a metaphor, or poetic language, that cherry is one of the literal ones so you pick it.
      Any position you want to take, there's a spiritual interpretation of the bible waiting to validate you.

    "I eat jesus" T-shirts would be a terrible idea for your cause. Can you imagine some random catholic, especially if they're named Cole, trying to defend transubstantiation and Aristotelian metaphysics in a casual conversation? They'd either come across like a cannibal, or an idiot, or both.
    You need a broad vocabulary, public speaking skills, and a deep reserve of psuedo-intellectual references to dish up the kind of word salad that would be effective. Bishop barron can sell the eucharist, Don't hand your average catholic a provocative t-shirt and expect good things to come from it.

    Your show is good, but I think it would be amazing if you added 3 women to the table: a nun, a lay director of religious ed, a catholic business owner. "I really believe that nothing is going to change in the world until the situation of women changes," she says. "I'll tell you why: You cannot simply dismiss over half of the human race, which means dismiss their agendas, dismiss their needs, dismiss their gifts, dismiss their intelligence."
