    Absolutely amazing drone shots. The drone and your commentary and the indoor shots just make the whole package work seamlessly. No one else comes close to this. Another amazing boat video.

    Dan, came across your channel and wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you. Finally a video(s) showing boats in more real world sea conditions. Far too many boat manufacturers including Sabre showing flat water lake like conditions in their promo videos. Given the pedigree of Sabre yachts they should be proud of showing their boats they way you did in this video. I am happy to say that this video helps sell and position boats with buyers by showing their true capability!

      Thanks for that John, really appreciate comments like this It motivates me to make more videos.
      I agree with you as this was also my experience for the last 20yrs as a boat salesman. Considering I have easier access to real ocean I figured I can just run around offshore for you guys and film it.
      This Sabre is the best offshore hull for this category of boat I have tested so far.

    I really love the look of the sabre yacht line up. But this is the first one I've seen on youtube actually running hard with the microphone on. Thank you for that. I would never of guessed that there was so much noise going on in the background. Rattling and squeaking.

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No worries David. This is actually the best hull offshore in this size boat i've driven this year. The squeaking is the timber but to be fair the insulation is so good on this boat it actually makes it sound worse on the microphone than it actually is because you can't hear the motors. If you gave me a choice for fast offshore running in big swells this would be the boat for me.

    The door by the helm is something that would be nice on other brands of boats also. It is very convenient to have a door by the helm.

    Dan, what a fascinating contrast to the multiple sports cruisers and Baltic-sourced plumb bow, narrow hulled day boats you have recently reviewed. This restores one's faith in the performance of traditional lines over a range of conditions. And once again, my grudge against IPS drives, with their weight and associated machinery w-a-y back aft in the hull, are disputed by how this boat performed. Plus, you're right about Sabre being a well respected brand for longer sailing passages. Looking forward to the walk-through.

    Dan, that looks like a great boat for the Bahamas and island hopping in the Caribbean. It just amazes me the technology in leaps and bounds that boating has gone in the last twenty or so years. How many will it sleep?

    Great looking boat Dan… I’ve seen quite a few of these up here along the Northeast U.S. coast. Only thing I noticed is she sounds a bit creaky. That would get annoying on a longer passage. Thanks for showing off this one.

    • @EmarineAuBackCove
      @EmarineAuBackCove ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’ll chime in here if that’s ok! Reality is all boats will creak and groan a bit at that speed in a bit of a sea. Only can hear it due to the incredibly low engine noise levels achieved by Sabre in their builds.

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not sure if it was obvious on the video but I wasn't raising my voice like I normally do in these videos because it was so dam quiet inside the boat. When rolling through those swells because the engine noise was dampened to the levels you would experience being inside a luxury car on the highway it made the joinery sounds more prominent on the microphone. In reality it wasn't all that intrusive and goes away when the sea state calms down.

    I love my Beneteau Sense 50. She is almost the perfect boat for us. But lately Ive been tempted by various motorboats. Uh oh... the wife will not be happy about this. Call the lawyers.....

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha no lawyers necessery just take her for a sea trial on a rainy day. Let her drive in the leather chair and ask her what temperature she would like the cabin set at and not to worry about the coffee as you'll stick the sea keeper on so it doesn't spill haha
      I also love the Sense 50 and 55 by the way. Amazing cockpit on those boats!! Thanks for the feedback Victor!

    Hey Dan, nice job on this one. All the comments about the brand are positive. You stated the ride quality is what you would expect. Could you straighten that out for me
    please? I really like these so your opinion would be great.

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      G'day Scott. So when I studied the drawings and saw 23 degrees of deadrise in the middle of the boat plus low center of gravity with a lot of the weight in the middle of the boat I suspected she would land quite softly on big swells. Adding the bow shape which parts the wave and sends the wash out to the side this should equal good average speeds in offshore conditions. So that is what I was expecting before the drive and then when we got out in the ocean my feelings about this boat were confirmed. Some boats when not balanced or designed properly can drag their stern a bit and the performance is average. But this Sabre runs flat and true.
      I hope that makes sense?

    How much creaking is normal in a boat when running?

  • @garfieldthomas8118
    @garfieldthomas8118 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question: does that diesel (Volvo?) have a low clatter in general?

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Does clatter mean noise? If the question is regarding noise levels this boat is extremely quiet. Holding conversations inside the boat without any need to raise your voice including speaking with someone at the back of the saloon while you're at the helm. The only noise you will hear is the futniture when you're offshore in big seas. I'm not sure why but my audio made the furniture sound louder that it felt in real life in this video?

    Should i buy this or a Sargo 45? 🤔

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't answer that honestly as I haven't driven the Sargo (none in Australia). I would say that the Sabre has mush more appeal in our market due to her looks so she will always do well on the re-sale market. She's also one of the best hulls i'd driven at speed in a decent seaway. So in Australia the Sabre is the safer bet for sure. In Sweden for example the Sargo might do better however?

    Great boat but surely if you are looking at this style of boat you probably would prefer shafts

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I understand the appeal of shafts which is what you see on their other brand Back Cove. However my thinking was that if they are targeting ex-sailors who may not have experience berthing and managing a power boat then the pod drives are going to be a lot less work for a couple stepping out of their 60ft Oyster and into this. I could be wrong but that's the feeling I got when looking at the design. Somebody who's spent the last 20 - 30yrs cruising on nice sailing yachts would slide perfectly into one of these and see massive benefits in the way they can enjoy their time onboard.

    • @EmarineAuBackCove
      @EmarineAuBackCove ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BoatLife_DansBoatLife great points Dan and also important to note that the entire vessel design was conceived and built around the VP IPS driveline. While some builders may offer a choice of pods or shafts in the same hull, that is unquestionably a compromise.
