Owned Canterbury SE's. Dreamed of owning Westminsters. Auditioned Guy R Fountain horns. There is NOTHING quite like Tannoy 15' horns playing rock in anger!
Kudos to you. Inspiring DIY excellence.
    AWESOME! 🤩

Beautiful, just Beautiful! After owning many very expensive speaker, my Westminsters are the only speaker that actually speaks to your heart more than your head. They are not the most accurate, but hell they convey music. What a brilliant passion and ability to build your own Westminster’s ❤

I used to work at a place called Wylie & Lochhead's in Glasgow which used to make all the furnishings for the Cunard Liners. Like the original Queen Mary and the even the famous Titanic. In the basement of the fabrication building there was a room packed with every sort of veneer under the sun. there were long drawers full of thin bead veneer which were used to decorate around tables and chairs. I used some when making my classical guitars for the purfling around the sound hole. I also made chess tables with tiny drawers to store the chess pieces and draughts pieces. Each drawer had a unique set of veneer designs. If only I had been born later I would love to have joined the team at Tannoy.

17:53 Improvement 1: Fitting screws for inductance coils should be of brass (?). Improvement 2: Both coils are equally directed - one of them should be mounted 90degree upright to minimize mutual magnetic influence.
24:06 Improvement 3: For internal wiring better use twisted isolated multiple-solid-core wires (also as connection from amp to speaker).

It's an incredible work and the result is so beautiful.
I think it would have been better if you heard the sound.
I know more about the connection and composition of the crossover, but I don't know from the video.

Great DIY effort.. He could upgrade to Claritycaps for the crossover caps. That’s what Tannoy uses now fir their TOTL, IIRC. And maybe Ohmite or Mills non-inductive wirewound resistors. A transformer core inductor is okay, just make sure it is very low DCR..
