I've never run knobs in the sand so I couldn't tell you. Plenty of people do though and I'd imagine they stay in 4wd. With paddles I stick to 2wd unless hill climbing. I felt like the rzr pulled way harder up China this trip with the wet sand. I like the extra traction but the ruts and lines from other cars beat you up over the weekend.
Jake Vawdrey I’ve been going to Glamis since the mid 1990’s and ran paddles on everything. When the group switched to SxS’s we all run aired down Bighorns. They work great...saves time and money.

China wall is fun! "The wall" is a challenge. Super steep, super loose.
How much hp does your canam normally have? And how does it pull hills with full HP?
China in NOT the biggest steepest dune. Try the dunes north of Patten Valley.

They are equally fun in there own way. I think In glamis I'd have to pick the bike. Everywhere else the RZR probably wins out.
Do you notice a difference in wet sand running paddles vs regular tires? I usually swap them out for the winter.

Did you ever run the XRC up the hill with the performance key? Were the bikes faster up China wall than your RZR and X3?
He's definitely run the hill prior with the performance key and it runs up it no problem. The bikes are definitely faster though!

Are these dunes open to the public everyday ? Like can you just pull up with a trailer any day of the week and go for a ride?
The dunes are open year round, yes. You can just pull up and ride. The main season requires you to purchase an annual or weekly pass.

How long till he noticed he had the wrong key? Seems like the white key should be tagged as that would be a real mood killer.
It was a pretty mellow run out. He knew something was up first run up the hill for sure.

That was funny he had the white key in it that reduced the horsepower.
After editing the footage and seeing what happened I had to let him know.. I think he's able to sleep again! lol

The white key is the "performance key" for my 2018 XRC. I guess it's up to the dealer which color they choose to program???
Isn’t the white key the performance and the green key eco mode? At least on my 17 xrs that’s how it is
