NASA would be forced to tell us “there is an x chance of it hitting Earth” because if they don’t, an amateur astronomer (the people who discover a large portion of new asteroids or comets) would 100% start telling people it has a high chance of hitting. NASA has told us there is a very small chance of Apophis hitting Earth, so who knows how big that chance actually is

Yes the radius of the crater it produced was 60 miles around.. in radius...
..... I think the blast radius was a few hundred or was it just under 200 I'm not sure anyway if it hit a certain area and China it would definitely kill half a billion .. you have to take into consideration the impact crater the blast radius the shockwave radius .. the radiation produced and the fallout .. and whatever blows up in the path of as a result of those things .. .. killing a billion people that have to be a highly populated area but it's possible ... Killing 500 million even more probable killing 250 million easily...

      According to AI:
Apophis is a near-Earth asteroid that measures approximately 370 meters in diameter, and it has been identified as a potential threat to Earth due to its close approach trajectory. If Apophis were to impact Earth, the energy released would depend on several factors, such as the asteroid's mass, velocity, angle of impact, and composition.
Assuming a worst-case scenario where Apophis impacted Earth with a velocity of 30 km/s (which is a typical speed for objects in space), it could release energy equivalent to several tens of thousands of megatons of TNT.
To put this in perspective, the largest nuclear bomb ever detonated, the Tsar Bomba, had an explosive yield of about 50 megatons of TNT. So, the impact of Apophis could release energy equivalent to several hundred to several thousand Tsar Bombas.
It's worth noting that the exact energy released would depend on several factors, and it's difficult to predict the exact outcome of such an event. However, scientists estimate that an impact event of this magnitude could have devastating effects on a global scale, including massive destruction of infrastructure, tsunamis, and widespread ecological damage.

I seen a video where the guy said NASA has measured Apophis and it’s about the size of the Rose Bowl football stadium.
He said when it impacts (apparently 2029) it’s going to land about 500 miles off the west coast of the USA.
The impact would cause a 5-storey wave that would devastate a lot of the west coast and reach other countries across the Pacific.
It does make you wonder, if a rock the size of a football stadium travelling 10x the speed of a bullet can cause all that devastation, what about the ones that are 3-4 miles and bigger in diameter? Neither wonder the dinosaurs were wiped out.

Take into account it makes two passes, the first in 2029 and the second pass 7 years later 2036. Man is not even able to reliably forecast the weather with 100% accuracy. I even dare say that even if NASA or any other space agency knew that the likelihood of a strike was high or definitive.
They wouldn't make it public knowledge, the economic fall out would be considerable. The damage from the asteroid impacting earth is not the biggest threat. We have more then a 5+ supervolcanoes spread across our planet. Even 1 of these supervolcanoes erupting, has terrible implications for mankind.

In space there is no wind, if a rock is flying in some direction, it will do so forever unlike clouds, the time it takes to fly to mars should be around a year, and they succeded. Planets move constantly which means they predicted where mars is going to be in a year and shot a rocket to that spot

Yes we do, we treat our planet (our home) like we are it's cancer. The majority of us just consume resources and put out waste. We put our straws (pipes) inside earth's crust and retrieve oil which took millions of years to create and we burn it like it is renewable in the name of growth and so called "development". We put garbage and air pollution in order to feed our species and survive. Until which point??? So yes, let it come. We don't respect our existence on this planet. And a lot of times in the history of earth comets have changed the route of life. Let's restart

Then have it set up like jury duty where you get selected at random to serve the public. Depends what type of material it is. An iron asteroid would be catastrophic. This thing will be traveling at 60-70 thousand miles per hour. It depends on the angle it hits. If it hits the ocean global temps could rise by 15 degrees due to greenhouse effect. Even if it doesn’t hit land, what is called an airburst, the kinetic energy could wipe out mikes of land. In 1908 in Siberia, a 150 foot asteroid air burst leveling 20 million trees.

Great eye sight. Gold when it falls from the sky after stars implode ,it too looks like a potato that's how gold looks most of the time until people melt it into shapes.

I sure hope it is. Remember it can still be the unnamed burning mountain, there’s two or more asteroids in Revelation , more if you include falling “stars”

Off the coast of Baha. In the Pacific Ocean. It would take out the West Coast from Peru to Alaska.

The damage also depends on the trajectory of the strike. If we get a full blown straight into the earth collision then that’s insanely bad. If it hits a somewhat of an angle then there’s a bit less damage and less to worry about. Bonus if it lands in the ocean.

Lockheed and NASA have proven they can land on smaller sized asteroids. We could very well change it's trajectory.

The climate change would be minimal. A Russian first strike would be 20 times that.
