DatGuyWithNoName they always do multiple takes for these kinds of videos. Sometimes groups don’t even do a full run and they just cobble it together chunk by chunk like crowns videos where you can here the met in with certain chunks and out with others
Okay so from a performer’s standpoint, I’m not the only one that gets distracted when in warm up or going through the lot at WGI World Championships, right?
Dutch I think a huge part of it is that they have marching programs in their middle schools that feed directly into their program. That doesn’t happen where I’m from. No group stands a chance when these Chino kids have been taught the marching arts since they were 12. And yeah, they have money.
My old high school used some of their techs. They don’t really have any tolerance for people who are still learning and such. They’re really only effective if you already know how to play. Chino hills has a middle school feeder program, so that’s why they can play like this
This makes me wish that I started out in a program with this kind of money and instructors, I'm grateful for what I had, but still, if I had the resources maybe I would be a better drummer now...
If so what's your secret how do you do it also I wish I can do the fast rhythms you do cause I tried but it seems so hard you make it look like child's play
I relate, my top three were Ayala, Dartmouth, then Chino. That being said, Chino was definitely much cleaner than Dartmouth and Ayala, but it think it was a great year overall
I’m sitting here as an eight grader on snare because they were desperate with a freshman on snare who doesn’t even want to be there. So there’s 2 snares 2 quads, 4 bases, and the front ensemble is almost all age outs. Yeah we used to be top of the class like this. Now we’re depleating. It’s sort of sad tbh.
@@ryanzink9 Your probably right. I'm no expert, but I think the Stevens grip is easier with thinner mallets and since the shaft on vibe mallets are thicker, I think Burton works better.
It's just easier to teach the same grip for kids that eventually want to play marimba. Also it's just a bit more of a time saver teaching wise if the approach is universal.
I think they're testing out a new line of prototype heads or something. I was there as well, and my friend said he got a closer look at it and it said "experimental"
IMO THEY WERE BETTER LAST YEAR Bass line need a lot of work drums set chops are on point and kinda of save the line honestly all in all they did a hell of a job
3:15 Edge snare magically puts on a jacket and makes it disappear.
Chino Hills are confirmed magicians.
Good catch
They probably did multiple takes and took the best from the takes
You can also tell from the blue prop that isn't in-frame in other scenes compared to the scene with his jacket on, great catch though
I went in here looking for a r/wooosh in the comments

Someone said in a TH-cam comment that center snare looks like Junkrat and I haven't been the same since.

They need a “learn the music” for drum set players... :(
That set player is a god damn machine! That kid is going places
phcasper actually he is more focused on school then actually marching anywhere. He is at pulse this season but won't be returning
Rogue you’re one smart guy
The set player is a god
Bruh he already is places
instablaster
There is a LOT of talent in that parking lot. The 30 year old on the kit has some monster set chops.
Omg drumset guy good job👍
Chino Hills 2018: aka Check out our really good drumset player..
What I would've given to be in a section like that in high school... How do they get the motivation & find the time?
A lot of money and talent
@@Ray-ij8ot coming from a current drum line member you couldn't be more right
skinnypenis12 3 mostly money
Hours and hours of practice, no lunches and sacrificing your social life.
The same staff that teaches at CHHS also teaches the jr high they feed into. Basically, six years of training by the same staff.
That kid on the kit needed to have tried out for dream theater
Big Baller Bass
Okay so from a performer’s standpoint, I’m not the only one that gets distracted when in warm up or going through the lot at WGI World Championships, right?
They add SN players and it gets cleaner, what in the actual eff
This...this can't be a high school...
It is sis
they’re in the same district and i can confirm they’re a high school 😂
they just have pro level funding and hours
Dutch and pro level dedication, talent, instructors, and much much more

John Mapes and Ian Grom

Cameron Smith my school has a jv feeder line too but the upper line is only open class😫
that tenor split at 5:51 🤯
This makes me wish that I started out in a program with this kind of money and instructors, I'm grateful for what I had, but still, if I had the resources maybe I would be a better drummer now...
Yea Nick!

Cody Ko plays the set?🧐
If so what's your secret how do you do it also I wish I can do the fast rhythms you do cause I tried but it seems so hard you make it look like child's play
Can we just acknowledge the drum set player's shaker game?
I know right
Dartmouth was my #1, Chino was my #2 and Ayala was my #3, favorites wise IMO ❤️

Omg druset guy good job👍
they probably have a whole practice room filled with xymox pads.
Nah, very few of us own xymox's, we jam out on all the vic firth pads tbh
@@josephpannazzo4766 none of the stereotypical back rest of the band chair drumming?

Does that one girl play Flubb or snare?
It’s flub from what I saw

Snazzy Potato who tf is nick, not to be rude. I just see his name everywhere in the comments.
FootballDrummer drumset
I LOVE YOU A'KEL!!!!!
Also INSANELY FIRE licks in the closer
I would do anything to be in a drumline like theirs lol
2:05 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I have to ask, why not Burton's grip for the vibes?
Tristan Stevenson Burton’s grip isn’t as good for high volume playing.

I was 14 at the time

Why because they use matched?
HighSChoOL?!?!?!?!??
Any videos of them playing doublebeat 9000 this year?
dog de la frog They didn't play it, i was at their lot twice in Dayton
jeeesus these kids are good
what kind of high school can afford big boi drumline equipment. they switch their outfits all the time and wallpapers too
Ones that are in California have money are really good and hand Endorsements
Yamaha sponsors us so they help us with the equipment
Our directors are also very dedicated to
IDK man. High school kids shouldn't be allowed to be that good lol
5:57 !!!!
Is it just me or do the snare heads look grey?
Leonardo Delgado they look like Remo Black Max heads but not 100% sure
Ninja Tzu Gaming it threw me off cause I've never seen any grey remo heads. On the grey evans ones but they're sponsored by remo so idk lol
They were grey, I was there
I think they're testing out a new line of prototype heads or something. I was there as well, and my friend said he got a closer look at it and it said "experimental"
Osclark that's pretty cool. Hopefully they do come out. I'd invest in one lol
We need to make sure that this set player reproduces if he isn't doing so already.
Is no one going to point out how CREEPY this comment is?
What drums is the tom line using?
Tyler Ward i meant the single toms
I am pretty sure they are using flubs. Then going to snare, quads, base.
drum set player is pretty good
00:27 holy shit
I have a question was there music for this or did the drumset player improvise this
Ian Grom is a crazy writer and he intentionally writes everything we see in his shows.
